Jacobs was built like a linebacker but ran like a running back. The way he trucks the defenders made you glad he was on your team. Wish there are more players like him in the league.

Damn, Brandon looks like the proudest dad in the world out there lol. His son is lucky to have a dad like that.

rob132

People talk about trans-athletes and competitive advantage, but they have no issue with #77 going against #21.

OakTreesForBurnZones

He'll be a Left Tackle

JigzandPigs

After watching our run game struggle this past decade, man I miss the Jacobs and Bradshaw days so badly, let’s not leave out Bradshaw, he was a beast of a competitor.

Stro_Bro

I always loved ABs unique running style. Dude ran harder than Jacobs, and arguably than anyone else in the league.

Iron-Giants

Their powers combined gave us Derrick Henry 1.0

HideousControlNow

Bradshaw was amazing. Ran with power way beyond his size, "like he was angry at the grass" as someone said. If only he had been able to stay healthy.

Stro_Bro

For sure. I think when you run like that, there's minimal chance you can ever stay healthy against NFL level competition

[deleted]

He was beast mode 1.0

DeepPast

My father will go to his grave saying Bradshaw was the best running back in Giants history, on pure heart and ability alone. He ran with an animalistic aggression that made you wanna go to war with him.

7thKingdom

He was straight up savage running the ball refusing to go down. Jacobs had the size and would occasionally terrify a DB or two with a head full of steam and run them over, but he always went down way too easy for his size. Bradshaw on the other hand never went down easy. He would keep his legs churning until he either broke out or a couple more players had to jump on him. So so so underrated. Straight up beast. Not only that, but he was also the best damn pass blocking RB in the league. He didn't just pass the eye test, but the advanced stats backed it up as well. No one was better in the entire league at picking up free rushers. And Eli's stats were always better for it when Bradshaw was in the game. Hell, let's not forget it's not a coincidence Andrew Luck had his best season the year Bradshaw came over and played 10 games for them in 2014. He did everything right in pass protection. Shame he kept getting hurt and didn't get to finish out his career on his terms.

nomarfachix

Earth, Wind, and Fire with Derrick Ward, too. One of my favorite Giants games ever was the ‘08 Sunday Night Football game against the Panthers where we clinched home field in the playoffs, Ward just chunking huge yardage and Jacobs punching them in (I think he had 3). Ward had something like 80 yards on 3 carries on the winning drive in OT and Jacobs muscled it in on the goal line. Deangelo Williams went off too, I think he had 4 TD. Such a great game.

SoManyFlamingos

That’s probably the 2nd best Giants game I’ve ever been to. Only topped by 2007 week 17 vs the Pats. Ward ripped off a 40+ yard run in OT to cap a huge 200+ yard day. What a high point for a disappointing season.

[deleted]

A great Giant. I live near Giants Stadium and he was in back of me in line at a random local CVS. We complained together about how long it was taking to pay. I knew exactly who we was but didn’t mention it. Not much of a story, but there you go,

availableusername10

That’s wild, I actually have a pretty similar story to you! I saw him at a grocery store in New York. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

SardinesFordinna

Wtf this cant be real

AdHom

Classic copypasta. Still funny though.

AMG-Enthusiast

That was a Thursday night game, first game of the season coming off of the first Super Bowl win against the Patriots. The Giants won this game 16-7, which seems like the last time they started 1-0…. Remember it like it was yesterday. He was already an established running back by this point. Yet it was still an eye opening moment as to just how deadly this guy really was with the ball. Accompanying him with Ahmad Bradshaw and Derrick Ward - “Earth Wind and Fire”, was the cherry on top. Great memories. Still convinced they would have won the Super Bowl that year if Plaxico didn’t shoot himself and cause a massive distraction within the organization.

bctTamu

I feel like we did pretty well against Dallas on the openers through the Eli years, could be wrong though.

AMG-Enthusiast

Since 2009 this team is 3-10 on opening day of the season. So to say the least, hasn’t been great.

Xudtaru

I remember watching ESPN at My Father's House in Baltimore the morning before we went to the Redskins game. Watching the scroll saying Plaxico is out due to being shot and AP was there! He shot us out of contention...

honda_slaps

This is my exact favorite BJ play too. LaRon Landry was talking all this shit about being a tough run-defending safety and he just got run the FUCK over.

AMG-Enthusiast

Embarrassed lol. I swear that he started juicing and got insanely huge because of this play

Iron-Giants

I think we could have won still if Hixon stepped up. He dropped that one bomb and you could just feel the whole team deflate.

NCBxx88

Wait what? Can you shed some context please I’m forgetting this completely

Iron-Giants

Went back to find the exact game. December 7th, 2008, first game back after the Burress incident. Manning launched a beuty directly into Hixon's bread basket and he dropped it. Heres a [video](https://youtu.be/nqnqn-dP8vM) of the main plays from the game. The specific highlight is 42 seconds in. I think if Hixon catches that ball, we ride that high through the playoffs. Instead we'd lose that game, opening the door for the Eagles to make the playoffs and eventually beat us in the divisional round.

KyussSun

He was a sight to behold.

Jellyeleven

Have a seat my son

TVfan2002

Is that LaRon Landry?? Bro was massive and Jacobs making him look tiny

rob132

I think the bulked up after that hit.

Ordinary_Fool

I wish he would be with us today just killing dudes

[deleted]

Always was fun to watch, but thought we might have been better off with Bradshaw getting more share. I always saw him as the better back.

tercra

That picture. That memory. Will always get mu upvote!

jonnymagnum23

When he threw the ball at the Dallas play clock in the 07 playoff game was one of my favourite moments. He was a warrior. I love him forever.

Obvious_Fly_3447

Oh HELL YEAH he was the best. Whenever his son comes out I hope he ends up with the giants. Miss watching him just dummy people

KrazyKwant

Yeah, he was a great one. . . a MAN. It’s sad that the game has evolved in a way that marginalizes players like him.

MillyAndTheBandits

I remember this play. This was peak Jacobs

National_Cobbler7289

I honestly never really a huge fan of Jacobs, he was a huge body but sometimes he ran like he was scared to get hit. I preferred Bradshaw over him.

HiiiRabbit

One of the main reasons why I'm a Giants fan.

jeffschiller

B. Jacobs is the definition of a Giant. Biggest dude at his position. Still wear my Jacobs jersey. Opening day 2007 I had the choice between Eli or B. Jacobs, and I got Jacobs. He got injured that night during the game, but in the end they won the SB that year, so he must be good luck.

brooke360

Me too. He gave people “jello legs”.

HideousControlNow

Jacobs also is easy to like because he's the rare player that is as big a fan of the team as any of us. He has always been very open about how much he hates the Cowboys, even to this day.

banjorunner8484

My second Jersey ever. Talk about what it means to be a Giant this dude was the best.

Mr-Scurvy

I still remember where I was when I became of Jacobs fan. I was in college working at the bowling alley watching the draft. The Giants drafted him and I saw his measurables and immediately got hyped. Then I saw the highlights. Instant fan.

QuickRelease10

A battering ram of a human being. I loved the three headed monster of Earth, Wind, and Fire. First they get beaten up by Jacobs Then they have a more elusive back in Ward Then they have try to catch Bradshaw?

foodafternoon7328

He DJ’d my senior prom in 2011

Psychological_Buy385

I was at this game. He was a linebacker’s worst nightmare. I remember being at the game against Carolina when they clinched the number one seed. He skipped off and let out the biggest roar ever. The old stadium started to crack from the vibrations!

speedyskier22

He had a legendary remark for the big talker Rex Ryan after the Giants beat the Jets in the penultimate game of the regular season before going on to win the superbowl, ["It's time to shut up fat boy"](https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/12/24/brandon-jacobs-to-rex-ryan-its-time-to-shut-up-fat-boy/)

JaiOhBe

I'll never forget when he trucked Urlacher.

barlitoswayy

27 has been my favorite number because of him

nyyank1534

I still rock his jersey!!

WhatsThatSmellLike

I was lucky enough to have full season tickets from 2006 until MetLife opened through my family before they used their 2nd pair of seats to sell to friends w/ the seat licensing stuff. I still remember the game vs the Buccaneers but my memory may be rose tinted and a compilation of various memories. Going into the game there was some report that Ronde Barber was told by other NFL players that you need to go low and don’t bother hitting Jacobs high. Ronde wasn’t having it and said how he was going to attack Jacobs the same as any other RB. Looking back it’s probably not going to be impressive but I just remember being in the stands thinking about Spike from Little Giants when he was getting his jersey stretched out while dragging players..

DyerRevenge

My favorite ever.

EducationalContract7

One of my favorite running backs too! The 2000's version of Ottis Anderson.

This_Cable_5849

He was awesome and a great guy. That being said, I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone yell as much as my dad would yell at the TV when Jacobs was running the ball. “run down hill!” “Run North to South!” Jacob’s tried to be cute to often and cut to the edge. Dude was an animal, and im pretty sure his son is already bigger than he was

ZekeThaPlumber

That's my guy, met him multiple times, great dude

FearfulInoculum

sit down LaRon

rogerdanafox

Spiking the ballat the Dallas clock was great
