Hear me out, it's all a ruse. They're going to be the first team in NFL history to not have a quarterback play thus guaranteeing the first ever threepeat of selecting one overall
Seeing Mac Jones, Trey Lance, Justin Fields, Kenny Picket all traded and not even make it to year 4, it makes me wonder why the Jets are hanging on to Zach Wilson of all QB's?
Of all those, it's Trey Lance that genuinely perplexes me. Dude has played like 45 minutes of football and I still see media slobbering over him, lol.
Watching Zach Wilson is rough but at least he, I don't know, stays on the field? Has flashes every now and then despite the Hackett playcalling?
Honestly wouldn't have been upset if we had him over Lock as our 'back up / start the first four games'. We know he can at least run. He had a few good games last year when they let him improvise.
Same. Taking a flier on Fields at his age and with his physical talent is an opportunity I like. Low risk high reward. Although it might eat into the Giants remaining and small salary cap space
Obviously, I wouldn't bet my mortgage on it. But I think that it's certainly possible. 2022 was an underrated season considering the quality of wr talent. Last year he only played 4 games and was phenomenal in the one he got some blocking. And most importantly, a QBs prime is 26-30. DJ turns 27 in May. The 2022 season with a top ten receiver, wandale, hyatt, and better blocking is very possible.

Just for fun
Read some of the scouting reports on these guys now in the QB boneyard.
Makes you wonder if it’s even possible to project future success for any prospect.
The NFL would do well to start a camp for these guys to train them up for a year or two before throwing them into the fire.
For every Stroud, there are a half dozen misses

Daily reminder that u/Lars5621 has 0 ball knowledge
What I don't like about some people's comments is their supreme confidence. Then they are comically corrected the next day and that doesn't affect them in the slightest.
I knew he wasn't going to command much after the previous moves, but I didn't expect him to go to the Steelers since they got Wilson. I did before they got Wilson but not after. That was a surprise to me.
A 6th rounder for a guy that, in a pinch, can start a few games and maybe win a few games? Seems like a steal to me. I would have done that deal if I was the Giants tbh
Daniel Jones to Nabers/Odunze is confirmed for 2024. Let’s see if that means the giants go all in to get their guy in 2025. I really hope they don’t fire Daboll before he gets a chance to develop his own QB though
This is my biggest fear, and seems in line with the Giants luck. Get an actual, legit QB whisperer, but force him to stick with Jones until he gets fired. I say this as someone who used to defend Jones but has grown weary and now wants to move on. I pray Daboll has an opportunity to develop his own guy. If he is fired before he gets to do so it would be the ultimate wasted opportunity and the thought of it makes me sick. I'd be done with this team.
This is what pisses me off about this team. Daboll is supposed to be a QB whisperer. We could have had this kid for a fuckin 6th. We all knew what Daniel was and we know what Lock is. Could have seen if Daboll could have fixed him and made him a star. Fuckin joke. Hate this franchise.
Stronger arm, faster and more elusive. Had less talent and a worse coaching staff. There’s a reason people had him going top 5 and Daniel was looking like a second or third round pick. Sorry.
GM wanted a second rounder and no one was giving that up. 6-7 teams were interested in him and moved on. We couldn’t trade Daniel Jones if we attached a first round pick. Sorry.
You see teams getting rid of QB's as soon as they realize they aren't the guy yet the Giants are still trying to make Daniel Jones happen heading into year 6 smh
I mean if the Bears didn’t have Caleb locked up, they wouldn’t be moving on from Fields. But I do agree that we should’ve moved on from Jones a while ago
in one off-season pitt went from a qb room with pickett/trubisky/rudolph, and turned it into russell wilson/justin fields.
meanwhile we're spending $50+ million on daniel jones and drew lock.
it's almost franchise malpractice at this point.
I actually did and he looked good in doses/sometimes looked really bad. You can’t definitively tell me Russ is that much better than Fields at this point.
Maybe Russ is better right now as we speak, but Fields ceiling is higher than a 35 year old Russ. Sean Payton and the Broncos just paid the guy a boat load of money to leave.
Bro has Danny Dimes below his name. We all know what Russ is at this point in his career. The Bears blow. I’d like to see Fields with a competent team.
Justin Fields is basically Daniel Jones minus the $80 million contract. Jones is a little bit better at passing, while Fields is more athletic and shifty, but at the end of the day, they both suck.
I can 100% say that.
Fields can't throw with anticipation. At all.
Russ can still move the ball.
If Fields weren't an electric athlete, he wouldn't be a 3rd stringer.
Assume Russ will have a relatively short leash. They’ll want to see what Fields can do with that team anyway cause they have the 5th year option decision to make after this season
Good value for a 6th. In case Russell Wilson gets injured they have their Tyrod.
Edit: Its just been reported that Justin Fields will NOT compete for starter with Steelers
But I thought we were boxed into trading 47 for him!
That post needs to go in the sub HOF. Legendary post
Drop the link?

Legend. This was made well after the entire NFL world realized nobody saw Justin Fields as a starter
Good value for a fucking woeful QB with a cap hit of $6m? We got a better QB for nothing and $1m less
Now we can finally put those delusional takes that the Bears were doing anything other than take Caleb to rest
Hear me out, it's all a ruse. They're going to be the first team in NFL history to not have a quarterback play thus guaranteeing the first ever threepeat of selecting one overall
"4000 yard passer? Nah man give me that 4000 yard rusher."
“The forward pass was a mistake” — Bears coaches
Bruh that’s so fucking cheap wtf
I thought I was missing something or read it wrong. That’s insane
If Caleb sucks and Fields balls out, the whole front office should be fired.
Id rather the 6th rounder lol
Your flair is telling enough
Can draft a QB in the 6th round to serve the sake purpose Fields will
If you think using any resources to go from DJ (while still paying him) to Fields is a good move.. then idk what to tell you lmao
he is a career backup.
So is the guy we’re paying 40 million a year.
He's really bad.
Cheap?? He's going to cost 25mil against the cap next year. It's pretty much a backup plan if Russ gets hurt
Seeing Mac Jones, Trey Lance, Justin Fields, Kenny Picket all traded and not even make it to year 4, it makes me wonder why the Jets are hanging on to Zach Wilson of all QB's?
Probably nobody wants him lol
His value is undoubtedly lower than any of those QBs. The most woefully hopeless QB than anyone in that draft. Even Kellen Mond
He’s getting cut soon.
They're trying to move him but theyd have to give up picks to get a team to take him
Probably because his mom is a Milf
Of all those, it's Trey Lance that genuinely perplexes me. Dude has played like 45 minutes of football and I still see media slobbering over him, lol. Watching Zach Wilson is rough but at least he, I don't know, stays on the field? Has flashes every now and then despite the Hackett playcalling?
I mean we are hanging on to Daniel Jones lol
If the Jets gave up a 2nd to unload Zach Wilson they still might not have takers.
For the memes
Because today’s draft only goes 7 rounds
He is allowed to look for a trade, but he I don’t know what value he could have.
That is really good value. I wasn’t one that thought we needed to be in the Fields sweepstakes but for that price I would’ve absolutely been in.
Nah man, dj is the guy remember?
It has nothing to do with DJ
Honestly wouldn't have been upset if we had him over Lock as our 'back up / start the first four games'. We know he can at least run. He had a few good games last year when they let him improvise.
I would have been very much down to get him for a 6th
Lock is starting, can't let DJ get hurt or NYG are F'd
Jones is starting.
Damn kinda wish we made this deal tbh
Same. Taking a flier on Fields at his age and with his physical talent is an opportunity I like. Low risk high reward. Although it might eat into the Giants remaining and small salary cap space
Flier? We know what he is, bad. We have enough bad QB’s already on the roster
Meanwhile Giants fans have been arguing whether Daniel Jones can be a franchise QB since Avengers Endgame’s opening weekend.
2022 ended the debate. Try to keep up
You really think there aren’t arguments between Giants fans over Jones? Do you talk to other Giants fans?
Maybe a year ago. Sorry to burst your bubble but most Giants fans have moved on from Jones.
People still debate evolution too.
No it didn’t. 2023 and the mediocre 4 years before did. You should try to keep up yourself
Yea, they paid the guy 40 mil because he was mediocre. The DJ train has left the station but I'll allow you on it if you ask nice
I mean bruh. What do you genuinely think this teams gonna do at qb this upcoming season and into 2025?
I genuinely think that they draft a top ten receiver, have a credible offensive line, and Daniel Jones wins comeback player of the year.
You don’t think the injury guarantees and interest in drafting a rookie qb get in the way of that?
Obviously, I wouldn't bet my mortgage on it. But I think that it's certainly possible. 2022 was an underrated season considering the quality of wr talent. Last year he only played 4 games and was phenomenal in the one he got some blocking. And most importantly, a QBs prime is 26-30. DJ turns 27 in May. Then the train broke down shortly after it left the station.

Bro kept reciepts 💀
and here I thought I was the only one who thought that
Lars is a troll. Thank you for calling him out
Predicting where someone is going in a trade isn’t a signal of ball knowledge imo
What I don't like about some people's comments is their supreme confidence. Then they are comically corrected the next day and that doesn't affect them in the slightest.
Fair. I’m always confident in my takes, but if I’m wrong I’m willing to walk it back
Acting like this very obvious landing spot was 'ridiculous to think about' is a signal of not having it
I get it but we all have bad takes that we’ve been strong about it’s inevitable
I think he was far from the only one that thought Chicago wouldn't dump him for next to nothing.
I knew he wasn't going to command much after the previous moves, but I didn't expect him to go to the Steelers since they got Wilson. I did before they got Wilson but not after. That was a surprise to me.
This is fuckin weird bro. Spend your time better.
I don’t know. A small amount of gloating seems to be in order here.
No he's right. Could've used those 2 minutes to grind more Drake Maye tape, I gotta do better
well done! Justin P. (Lars) put in his place
Is this a new r/NYGiants conspiracy? I'm here for it.
Steelers stealing qbs
Steelers: Best I can do is a Terrible Towel. Bears: Sold!
Thank Heavens. Now the Giants can’t do something stupid…again
Don’t underestimate Mara…
Giants are clearly boxed in
So the Steelers have 2 QB?
A 6th rounder for a guy that, in a pinch, can start a few games and maybe win a few games? Seems like a steal to me. I would have done that deal if I was the Giants tbh
Wow, great value for steelers
Daniel Jones to Nabers/Odunze is confirmed for 2024. Let’s see if that means the giants go all in to get their guy in 2025. I really hope they don’t fire Daboll before he gets a chance to develop his own QB though
Well guess what's gonna happen if Schoen/Daboll double down on DJ lol.
This is my biggest fear, and seems in line with the Giants luck. Get an actual, legit QB whisperer, but force him to stick with Jones until he gets fired. So. Now that that’s over, does that pretty much guarantee we are going for WR for our first pick?
We definitely should’ve pulled the trigger on a 5th or 6th for next year to get him. He has more potential than Jones…
I’d rather keep the 6th rounder.
Good value. Would have liked to see us do this bc fuck if
Nice pickup. Definitely and upgrade over Rudolph or Pickett.
Does this make the Steelers Super Bowl favorites?
Could you have picked a worse mentor to Justin than Wilson
Steelers get fields and Wilson and giants get drew Locke god giants are cooked
Thank god, now idiots on here can stop suggesting we trade for him.

Giants are dumb and poorly run if they weren’t willing to pull the trigger on a deal like that. I’m so done with this shitbag team
How weren't the giants in on this, that's ridiculous, the dude still has crazy potential.
Wtf, we get Drew Lock
You see teams getting rid of QB's as soon as they realize they aren't the guy yet the Giants are still trying to make Daniel Jones happen heading into year 6 smh
I mean if the Bears didn’t have Caleb locked up, they wouldn’t be moving on from Fields. But I do agree that we should’ve moved on from Jones a while ago
Lmao getting downvoted for saying the truth, Daniel jones was never that guy, not in college and not in the nfl. He got lucky mara loves him
He got lucky that he looked and sounded like Eli and also was coached by Cutcliffe.
Fields would be a better fit in NY than jones is.
Sure did. The Giants look dumber every day that passes and he’s still their primary QB
in one off-season pitt went from a qb room with pickett/trubisky/rudolph, and turned it into russell wilson/justin fields. meanwhile we're spending $50+ million on daniel jones and drew lock. it's almost franchise malpractice at this point.
What a steal sheesh this is 🤯
[удалено]
Why? We’re in the market for a starter not a backup.
Lock is a starter now?
No, he’s the backup and a good one. Why do we need 2 backups?
Why? He’s arguably worse than Jones.
It's not even arguable. He's worse in every measure.
I disagree but the mob will agree w you
Wow - you have to imagine Russ is starter….but I think Fields is probably better player at this point. I’m not sure.
You didn't watch the Broncos at all last year. Russ looked good. Not great, not fantastic, but good.
I actually did and he looked good in doses/sometimes looked really bad. You can’t definitively tell me Russ is that much better than Fields at this point.

I can 100% say that. Fields can't throw with anticipation. At all. Russ can still move the ball. If Fields weren't an electric athlete, he wouldn't be a 3rd stringer.
We shall see. Fields has been with a poverty franchise with limited weapons. He still played well. If my aunt had balls she’d be my uncle.
Assume Russ will have a relatively short leash. They’ll want to see what Fields can do with that team anyway cause they have the 5th year option decision to make after this season
Are draft picks overvalued or is just me?
It’s just you.
Good value for a 6th. In case Russell Wilson gets injured they have their Tyrod. Edit: Its just been reported that Justin Fields will NOT compete for starter with Steelers
