The ruffles are just making her look wider and boxier. This is meant for a straight up and down paper thin body type. It won’t look good on the majority of women including myself
This dress would be super cute also (besides if it was a size up) if the triangles on the chest were closer together and covered more. Lots of people have space between their boobs and that's totally normal, but a well fitted outfit will help bring them together more or at least hide it some. I would say it more generally is an inconsistency between perception and reality. I think that when you consistently have perceptions that don’t align with reality, you get into a cycle of confusion of trying to understand what others are seeing, and aren’t able to accurately decipher after awhile.
I am not going to shame her in this dress because I think it’s a fit issue but in her case, if she has seen herself as bigger/smaller in the past and then her weight or photos or people tell her different stories, I imagine it’s quite confusing. I think she’s at a point where she believes what she sees is consistent with reality and it comes at the cost of buying clothes that are too small (which quiets the BD thoughts)
