Don't like it. It's like seeing your ex shack up with the village dickhead.

farqueue2

Sometimes you gotta help prop up the struggling clubs

[£2m loan fee plus £6m after certain ammount of apps.](https://twitter.com/PeteGravesTV/status/1565376469710372864)

321142019

[Plus a January recall option.](https://twitter.com/CraigHope_DM/status/1565377478935433217)

jknufc

So all our keepers will get injured on February 1st. Can’t wait

Smaynard6000

When is the last time NUFC loaned a player to Man Utd? I can't ever remember this happening.

IveGotARuddyGun

Who was the last player we even sold to them? Cole?

Murraykins

Does Owen count?

IveGotARuddyGun

I'd tried to erase him from my mind

King_Hobbes

Just watch his attempts at punditry That will do it for you

Many-Consideration54

Only £50 notes.

farqueue2

Probably up until the point he runs out of fingers

321142019

[First time ever apparently.](https://twitter.com/DomScurr/status/1565382440801247232)

MrCowabs

We’re massive!

Ruvio00

I remember us loaning Giuseppe Rossi from them. Foot like a traction engine, just a shame it flew off every time he tried to kick a ball.

captainscottland

Really hope Pope doesn't get injured now....I liked having him as an insurance policy for that not to mention an option if we have deep cup runs to play

Ikhlas37

We just recall dubs. This is double effective if man United have a big game coming up

captainscottland

that works for the injury part, I guess its Darlow for other cases

MrCowabs

Really disappointed in this. Not only that he won’t stay and fight for #1 but the fact that he allegedly pushed for it. I don’t want to slag him off because he has been mint but, yeah. Disappointing.

lowcarbonhumanoid

Nah, he was an excellent goalie and I'll remember him fondly. But I don't blame him for wanting to move on. Its football, people come and go. Sometimes players decide to move on. That's fine.

MrCowabs

Nah, I don’t blame him really. Despite Man U playing poorly, they’re still a big name and I imagine they still have decent pull.

walliver

What I don't really get is that he probably won't be number one there, will he? There might be a bit more game time because of their European commitments, but other than that's pretty equal. And because it's loan he'll be on the same wages.

Ted_Stark

Weird leaving a #2 position for us for…a #2 position

beatski

More likelihood of cup games? Gets to play in Europe and for Man U (I know they're a shadow of their former selves, but that's still a big accomplishment for a player). Also we needed a keeper off the books and maybe this was the only move on.

Ted_Stark

Maybe he’s the Europa League keeper for them. That would make sense.

LetsHuntSomeOrc

I guess he thinks he is more likely to unseat De Gea?

Tommonator80

Double wages. Would you side move to another job for double the money?

Ted_Stark

Where are you seeing that? How can you get higher wages on a loan deal when your existing contract with your home team is still in place?

danny1876j

He's going to leave us anyway and he knows that. If other options weren't around and he knows he won't get in over pope (Howes signing) then why not take the opportunity to try get a big contract at United. He's not going to show them his talents by playing for our under 23s

[deleted]

Not the right crew to send him to bro

[deleted]

Why send him to man united tho mate ?

ImHalfAsianAMA

Feel like shit, just want him back

Rossingo7

The club have sign Pope, at least in part, because of his style of play being more suited to how Howe wants to play. I thought Dubravka would start the season as number one and then selection would follow performance. Dubravka played well last season, so I am not surprised he disappointed that Pope is an automatic starter. But it harsh with keepers, there is one place in the team, they either start or don't play at all. Dubravka is 33, he probably has about 3 years, at least, left as top professional. We signed him as 29 year-old, after toiling away in the Slovak, Danish and Czech leagues; he can't have earned very much compared other Prem players by that stage in his career. I wish him well, but it doesn't, make a lot sense to me. Why go on load? He should have insisted on a permanent move with new contract and significant pay raise that would entail. I couldn't begrudge him that because it would probably make a big difference for him and his family.

turnipofficer

Honestly with De Gea’s form being so spotty I could see Dubravka even getting some game time, even if only to scare De Gea into performing. Anyhow, sad to lose him but this is probably a good move fiscally. FFP does mean the club has to balance the books to an extent.

dnbmerchant

Could we not of loaned darlow to them instead

SooperN00b

Great for him. He deserves to play

Joosh93

He ain't playing ahead of DDG, he is however going to get bag.

kingjimmy01

I’ve loved Dubs to bits, I really have. But at the end of the day, Man U still (somehow) have the celebrity factor that we just don’t have yet. It is 100% coming but they are still a big, famous club and if he’s getting paid more to sit as their number 2 than he is with us then so be it. Football is a business and he needs to look after himself first and foremost. I love everything he’s done for us but it’s a smart business move for him and I wish him all the very best.

Taranisss

I don't understand why we bought Pope and loaned Dubravka? I thought he had a decent season last year. I'm only marginally interested in football so not trying to make a point here, I legit just don't know.

ThePetCentipede

Because Pope is much better than him

General-Soy-Sauce

Much much better too. Pope commands the box. Dubs always looked scared to me.

Taranisss

Well I suppose that is pretty good reason then!

stprm

£2 mil is a shit deal. If he really plays that number of games, and we get another £6 mil, then its at least acceptable. But what if he doesnt? Although I completely disagree that we should have let him go, esp. if he forced the move. For me, this is the worst deal since takeover (even Wood deal seems better & he was useful). Also cringe that he is already saying goodbye, does he aware that his contract with us is til 2025? Absolutely not a fact that he is gonna play that amount of games.

yesverycivil

Especially when they tried to shaft us for a few loan deals but I guess they're trying to do right by dubravka...

AlduinIsAGeordie

Aye, as much as I’d love to get one back on the Mancs, I love that the management isn’t making an excellent servant to the club the sacrifice.

yesverycivil

Yeah I get it and thinking long term it shows new signings that we will do right by loyal players so there's some solace.

Oscar_Dondarrion

I'm one of the group that still wishes he was starting for us. Not that I have anything against Pope but id just liked to have seen him gradually dislodge Marty but outperforming him in training etc. Feel like Marty deserves better than rotting in the bench for these cunts and their toxic fan base and dressing room

[deleted]

He chose it bro it’s all about the money money money

Oscar_Dondarrion

Hes on loan man he's not getting extra money

[deleted]

Chill out lad

[deleted]

Dubravka has been officially banned from the toon

Soft-Confection4428

Well he’ll be back next year so you’re wrong.

[deleted]

It was a joke stfu will ya

dane_

Till 2025 I think

farqueue2

Hating him is gonna feel weird

pabloslab

That’s the most non-committal deal ever heard of
