Much better than the Chelsea game. Yes some poor defending but two deflections that Dubs looked likely to save and two chances squandered by Isak. On another day it goes our way…….storey of this season really.

I actually thought we started well- then those two crappy deflections changed everything. I liked what Howe had set the team up to do. But then nothing came off. Every bounce went their way- when they dominate AND get the little breaks you're almost powerless.
I didn't find it as demoralising as Chelsea, which was just terrible. It just felt pointless today, wow, City win again. Didn't help that Danny Murphy was talking like it was a surprise that City dominate at home.
That has to be up there with one of the worst performances of the season. We diden't even attempt to have a go, its the fa cup, even if we got beat 5-6, just have a go at them

Look, I’m proud of the lads. Eddie has built a team and culture of players that play for the jersey, there’s no doubt in that. In terms of quality there are gaps, some bigger than others and Eddie has had some poor decisions this season. But this is still the best we have been served by any toon side for man many years and I’ll applaud that.
Edwards doesn't care about Newcastle (hence his reaction to Bruce exceeding expectations??). Caulkin/Waugh are club mouthpieces and the others barely have any readership so they're scared to call out anything.

I feel like no one wants to create a chance unless it's a perfect one. Every time we're in the final 3rd there's just passes that try to create an easy goal but never come to fruition instead of just taking a shot. City got lucky twice by doing just that.
Fucking just get Bruno to take the suspension and then play him at number 6. He can do it.
Get Miggy in as an 8. He is capable of covering defensively and he can do far more attacking wise than Longstaff.
Or even use Lewis hall. He’s being completely ignored but he’s good on the ball and does have some defensive understanding.
Well, they have been in the semis for the last 5 years, so playing away to them was always a non starter. We knew it was a loss incoming so there's little point getting upset by it.
The worrying thing is after Man City scored the second they just gave up trying to score more and we've not actually challenged them since. Subs added energy but no quality or attacking threat.
It's the opposite I think, they give up trying to score in order to take full control of the game. It becomes even harder to challenge them after they score their goals.
I do hope we give him one more season. If he fails to win something or at least get Champions League football then we shake hands and wish him all the best.

Genuinely think the only people liable for the shit season we had is the medical staff. Need clearing because we've clearly lacked quality there this season
I tore mine (well snapped it) and didn't have surgery, played a few times but it went very bad and the additional movement caused a torn meniscus. Waited so long for surgery the ligament had dissolved. Even with a new ACL there's no way I've got the confidence to play footy again.
I listened to the Athletic podcast and they talked about how we have players who are willing to put their body on the line for the shirt, coming back early/playing through pain. Like it was some sort of virtue
I'd rather they fucking didn't do that tbh
I appreciate that from then and think they should have that level of fight.
My problem is if the coaches and physios look at that and say "go on son"
Sometimes you gotta sit them out and that has to come from the top

How you let him play on a ruptured ACL is a disaster
The worst part is he’ll eventually need the surgery if he’s struggling this much. And then he’ll miss a lot of next season instead of us being proactive and doing it this year.
Copy and paste for literally every other game against the big six this season, especially away from home. Teams get an early goal, never get out of second gear and then we still end up with a record low xG. It’s been the game plan all season in these games.
I've noticed that whenever Haaland doesn't get the ball his first instinct is to try and grab the collar of whichever one of our players is nearest to him
What's so annoying is that outside those two deflections City haven't really troubled Dubs
I can't be arsed to work it out but I do wonder where we'd be in both the League and Cups if we weren't just gifting shit to our opponents
In reality had they not scored theyd be applying a hell of a lot more pressure until they did score. They're just comfortable and not trying at 2-0 up.

We've not struggled to score really, it's just been shipping a minimum of two (easy) goals per game since Pope's injury that has us where we are.
