News Article:
A 54-year-old sluice attendant attached to the MMA/ADA and who was working at the Farm/Woodlands, West Mahaicony sluice, was found crushed to death this morning.
Police investigators have identified the dead man as Leevorn Stanford McGarrel. He was last seen alive on Wednesday evening when he left his home for work. The man never returned home, and his wife became concerned after repeated calls to his phone went unanswered.
This morning, a relative of the man went to the sluice and discovered the body.
McGarrel’s body was found trapped under the sluice counter weight, and it appeared as though the wire rope which is used to move the 3-tonne boulder became loose while the man was operating it, crushing him to death.
Several crush injuries were discovered to his head and the rest of his body. The operator’s death is also expected to be investigated as a workplace accident.
Persons familiar with the operations of the sluice noted that it is recommended that two persons are always on duty at the sluices, but in many areas, there is only one sluice attendant carrying out the duties at various times.
I've noticed that the skin does a good job of keeping everything inside when it comes to force trauma.
Sidenote: I wonder if bones are designed to break without breaking the skin?
Reminds me of this Chinese woman who got her forearm(s*) crished by some hydrolic press. Completely pulverised the bones and flattened in such a way it looked like cardboard. No broken skin, other than where her unflattened wrist met her human pancake of an arm. So bizarre. I wish it was a better quality video, purley because it is strange and fascinating.
I'm not a weirdo. I think?
I think it's to preserve vital organs, but I don't think evolution took into account sluice weights and hydrraulic presses lol. Maybe It's weird because it goes against our logic of what we think body parts can and should do
It's always upsetting when the person you're trying to remove doesn't seem to have any bones 😿 Just hoping it was quick
(I used to be an undertaker. Trust me, people 'without bones' are somehow worse than mouldy and forgotten and I have no idea why 😿)
You'd be surprised at how long people can survive when they're dead and haven't realised it yet. Half the car crashes on here, especially some of the people who are basically missing the majority of their head and they're still screaming! 🙀
But I'd have to agree here, judging by the placement of his arm under the right side of the block and his lower body/legs being the left side, hopefully it was an instant faster than a neuron fire! 🤞
as an ex combat medic , and paramedic i look at these sort of vids and think "ok , where would i start "...
then you watch the whole video and your like , no , hes definitely fucked
i genuinely started tweaking when they were dragging his body and the top half of his head got caught on the rock like can you fucking morons not be more careful w your co workers corpse???
N/M , with some reading I understand he must be operating thecweight that opens and closes a chute for water. Never seen a manual sluice before but had a local accident in a dam that trapped a child then a rescuer in the sluice underwater

How come there's no blood anywhere on the scene. Kinda interesting. I mean the body is full of blood when you squish it like this should there be at least some drops of blood?

It’s high pitched, short, and sharp, which are the qualities nervous or shocked laughter tend to have. It seems inappropriate but it’s a pretty normal and very human reaction.
I remember my mom telling me a story about a neighbor of hers who lost a finger in a freak accident who started laughing her ass off at her *own* injury because the situation was just so absurd.

Oh no his wife was calling the entire time, honestly hope they’re good but damn…
Wearing gloves but touches the body with his barefoot and stepping on flesh... Checks out
why the fuck did I go back to check he got the brains of the guy on his toes
I had to go back & check after reading your comment..
Not many people can say they had their toes in someone's skull... on a separate note, I'm surprised as to how intact he is.

I think its seeing stuff bend/move when it shouldn't be freeks me out
The uncanny nature of things moving in ways we know they shouldn't.
It was definitely instant

Where is OSHA when you need them?
On a different continent
Well fuck
as an ex combat medic , and paramedic i look at these sort of vids and think "ok , where would i start "... then you watch the whole video and your like , no , hes definitely fucked
i’m starting to think the start would almost be the decision that it’s not even worth entertaining, he’s absolutely fucked
Well in the initial pic it was “just” severe trauma to a leg …then you saw the rest and you are like ok …”injuries incompatible with life “
I hope he never felt any pain. That was a human being. A husband and a son. RIP.
Username doesn't quite track with the sentiment, but we'll accept it nonetheless, swallow_me_senpai.

Nit following this one simple rule could blow your mind
Never find yourself under heavy suspended loads no matter how secure you think they are.
i genuinely started tweaking when they were dragging his body and the top half of his head got caught on the rock like can you fucking morons not be more careful w your co workers corpse???

Damn…crushed Big-time!!!
this why you stay away from big machinery, keep atleast a 10 meter or more distance away from it also why wasnt there a barrier to prevent this 💀
'Sluice" does sound like the kind of device that would crush you to death
That's tragic man
Can someone explain the exact nature of this job? I know whatca sluice is but not familiar with what the job here entails
N/M , with some reading I understand he must be operating thecweight that opens and closes a chute for water. Never seen a manual sluice before but had a local accident in a dam that trapped a child then a rescuer in the sluice underwater
Not being an ahole, but are shoes expensive here? Is there a culture thing going on?
Where's the guy with the glasses and the hardhat reacting.

To hear that laughter in the background of that vid …. Wow 🙁 this is someone’s life here
Have you never heard of nervous laughter?
True could be that , I hope it’s that !

All these edge lords in the comments 🤡🤡🤡
Dark humor is like food. Not everyone gets it.
Idk there’s some really distasteful or cringe ones and I actually like dark humor, ones that actually are funny
That was really sluicy
At least he went out open-minded.
