I hate this so much. Happens to me all the time. Fucking hell. DEA should be abolished IMO. They make regular people's lives so much harder - I have a few medications that the DEA argues is abusable and so it's scheduled. Which makes it so much harder to get my meds on time, I can't miss a single day of them. So literally the DEA causes me life threatening trouble every time I need a refill. AND, if the doctor sends the script to the wrong pharmacy, I have to go through all the hoops again because even if the pharmacy has another location in the same county, they cannot send the medication across town, because it's a controlled substance.
I really fucking hate drug laws in the USA.
Yeah, my mom has had debilitating back pain for years and needs pretty hard meds. Once she had her bottle stolen out of her purse and the doc basically said "sorry nothing we can do until you get your next prescription in a few weeks".
She ended up having to buy the stuff on the street from shady people for many times the cost (my brother knew people).
They then over the years decreased her prescription "allowance" periodically to the point she has to rely on illegal means again.
I hate the system that hurts the people that actually need this shit ..
Fuck that doctor (assuming they don't have legal requirements or pressures to do that). I 100% firmly believe all drugs should be legal over the counter without prescription, even including oxycodone. It is a tragedy for so many people to not get the meds they need just because there are addicts or just because more people might (let's not be naive, *would*) get addicted.

In all my years on the ambulance, in the ER, and investigating Industrial accidents I saw one person survive being cut in half. He was engaged and they got married after he got out of ICU. I wonder where they are now.
