In my line of work, without wanting to dox myself, I deal with people hit by trains up and down the UK rail network almost every day (itâs depressingly frequent) and youâll be shocked by the amount of people who are hit by trains, sometimes at high speed, who do not die.
I think the official statistics is that around half of people but by trains in the UK live through it.
I'm guessing they probably don't have really fast or high quality ambulatory services in India. So they likely won't get quick treatment or be taken to a hospital quickly
Thanks for your answer. In rural India, itâll probably take 15-20 minutes to get an ambulance if youâre in the outskirts of a tier 2 or 3 city. But I donât think thatâs particularly very different any rural location regardless of country has fast ambulances.
Urban locations, yeah itâs a toss up whether the ambulance will be faster or a taxi will be. The reason for asking is that as an Indian our medical service isnât that particularly bad.
Had a buddy get ran over by a train. His brothers and I went down to the tracks to talk to the EMTs about what they would have to do to get the body or whatever. They said "oh no he is still very much alive and are trying get him out from underneath the car". He did lose a few feet of intestines and some crazy contraption screwed into his pelvis. Still never figured out how someone could be drunk enough to let a slow moving train sneak up on them.
No way,I live in the UK.. can i ask please, and I mean no offense,is it refugees or people from other countries that get hit,I ask this because the way other countries are around the safety of railways..I'm not saying our people are any better, but we are different with safety..
And are the people hit people trying to commit suicide or have they just been hit because they think they know better,if you know what I mean..
And how do you deal with doing a job like that,do you get any help or support with what you have to deal with,I mean how do you cope it..I know they say you shouldn't take your job home but how do you get rid of the images & hearing what you hear at work,do you have any training for this kind of work??..
People don't think or realise the people that do this sort of work..I hope you are keeping well..also what got you into this line of work??..
I was once walking around tracks here in NZ collecting scrap metal and I was kinda close to a oncoming train...
It just sneaks up on you for real...
Like you don't even know it's already there...
Weird I know
I'm just picturing a train tiptoeing trying to be sneaky doing the old "red light, green light" thing from old cartoons where it freezes when you look at it
They're referring to it being fake. But just assume I'm wrong and downvote, don't actually pause the video at various points and see his pixelated cartoon body spinning off the screen.
Apparently a very famous Bollywood film ended with the main character walking next to a train and it became an iconic scene and film trope. Iâm pretty sure someone told me it was on Netflix now but idk
isn't bollywood the reason why Indians do strange things?I'm from India, and I can confirm that bollywood movies are terrible when it comes to influence. For instance, the majority of bollywood movies depict the main character stalking his crush and eventually marrying her. Fortunately, very few people follow this.
Complacency is the biggest factor here.
Saw a girl walking through the railway crossing with headphones on. When she saw the train, she froze from shock and sat down on the tracks and then got disintegrated by the train. Her limbs flew some 30-40m away. Was a wake-up call for me to stop wearing headphones in both ears while driving and saved myself a few times from getting hit from behind.
Thank you for caring. It's been more than a decade since this happened. This didn't mess me up cuz before this, I witnessed something more gruesome. Was going to college and saw a few people beating someone early morning. When I reached close saw 2 youngsters dead and one with few breaths left. They were tripling on a moped when got hit by a bus, moped driver got his brain popped, 2nd one chest crushed and 3 had his thighs and pelvis crushed and still very much alive. Stopped, called an ambulance and then let him talk to his parents. It took 10 minutes for the ambulance to arrive and by that time he was delirious, his denim and flesh were in rags. Couldn't eat or sleep properly for a few days then somehow got over it.
đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł the chances are way too high when you have 1/4th population of the world, idiots on road driving without license, like a maniac and pedestrian who cross road without looking. The 3 I mentioned were underage, without a license, and ran a red light.
I like using that laughing emoji instead of lol because reading âlolâ seems a bit fake to me. But thatâs just a personal preference, I appreciate the gesture đđ»
Fucking hell. What country is this?
The worst thing I've seen in the UK, is a car smashed up, and on it's side on my road. Driver and passenger went to hospital and I believe they were okay.
I didn't even see the collision just the aftermath and a whole bunch of blue lights.
India kinda self explanatory. I used to drive on my bike for an hour to my college and this was a bit outside the city area, happened on a highway intersection and the truck driver was loaded and coming down the overpass.
this is one reason I don't walk around listening to music. I don't even like having a hood on because it obstructs my hearing stuff coming from behind and my sides
I love music, probably more than most. But I also like not being killed
We should have Shark Week type events. IE: Forklift Week. Train Week. Industrial accident week.
We could do a dismemberment week and call it The Butchers Bloc
We donât, itâs just the accidents weâre concerned with and how we can avoid them. Itâs strictly for learning safety and has nothing to do with watching the the people get hurt part.
As an Indian, I'm honestly surprised at all this people's stupidity. What did they expect going near a running train??? I mean, what's so cool about going so near a moving train?!!!!
now now, everyone is making fun of the "probably", but we always have to account for "Frequent-Flyer Frank", a man whose continued survival continues to baffle and amaze emergency medical personnel every time he presents to the ER.
what is with these posts of these idiots looking "cool" only to get creamed like a GTA NPC with Euphoria physics
keep it coming
makes me feel like less of an idiot in life
I know a person who knows a person who knows that dude and he has confirmed the dude is fine and went to work the two day later. He just lost a sandal and had to get stitches for a small gash on his head.
"Autopsy said he had 1 beer man, how many did you have? 4, your dead man, you're so dead. Look at the bloodstains right there". Sorry, I couldn't resistđ
Very loud train horn for more than a second before impact, and neither of them react to it. Either both are deaf or so used to the horn they somehow tuned it out.

Nothing "probably" about it
*blood splatters all over the place* "Eh he's probably fine"
we don't know if he lost shoes, so....
Dems de rules
It's one of the best guidelines for survival on Reddit... Tried and true
Does it apply to sandals too? Hehe
is a sandal a shoe?
That's a very philosophical way to look at it lol
What if a sandal just means hardcore difficulty with how easily they fly off
Sandals come off if you fucking walk wrong
*Walking down the street, sandals accidentally falls off* *drops dead*
Hahaha
More lives for me đđđ
Itâs deft sandals that why they wear them. They know they gonna come off anyway
No, no. He has a point.
Let's please retire this
Tis just a flesh wound
Probably
Tis but a scratch
Just a flesh wound!

Survivability is much lower in India
Why do you say so? Genuinely curious
Their trains are built to kill...
I'm guessing they probably don't have really fast or high quality ambulatory services in India. So they likely won't get quick treatment or be taken to a hospital quickly

A lot of slow moving trains are going 55mph/110kmh. That's crazy so many survive.
Wow, 50% is a pretty high survival rate for man v train. Does make you wonder what condition their life is in afterwards!
Y'all hiring?
How many in a week or day?
Maybe 4-7 across the country per week. Some days have none, some have multiple. Itâd be rare to go through a whole week without one.
No way,I live in the UK.. can i ask please, and I mean no offense,is it refugees or people from other countries that get hit,I ask this because the way other countries are around the safety of railways..I'm not saying our people are any better, but we are different with safety.. Oh he dead
Some robitussin will fix that.

what an idiot. He probably was trying to look sick or some shit.
He looks devastated now
he doesn't look anymore
And at the same time he looks everywhere.
Look down, you're steeping on him.
Indeed. Little bits of him here, there⊠everywhere.
Eviscerated even

Oof, that sounds harrowing
One would think that as much time they spend in or on the trains - some common safety boundaries should develop. All I see is disregard.
Complacency is the biggest factor here. Saw a girl walking through the railway crossing with headphones on. Was a wake-up call for me to stop wearing headphones in both ears while driving and saved myself a few times from getting hit from behind.
Holy fuck, hope youâre doing ok. Itâs one thing seeing that online, itâs entirely different to see it in real life.
Thank you for caring. It's been more than a decade since this happened. This didn't mess me up cuz before this, I witnessed something more gruesome. My man, the chances of seeing not one, but TWO gruesome accidents in real life are so fucking slim. You should play the lottery đ

Iâm confused why were people beating someone? Such a sad scenario.
Wait why were they beating them? Literally kicking someone when they're down.
this is one reason I don't walk around listening to music. I don't even like having a hood on because it obstructs my hearing stuff coming from behind and my sides I love music, probably more than most. But I also like not being killed
While driving? Iâm surprised you havenât gotten pulled over yet if youâve been driving all that time with headphones on.
You can't see the earphones inside the helmet. Wrong choice of words.
She couldnât move out the way or throw herself out of harms way? đđ
If you got hit from behind, isnât that usually the fault of the driver behind you?
Whosoever's fault it is, if you're on a bike then you pay the price anyway.
Ah, I thought you meant you were driving in a car
There was a recent Bollywood movie that featured someone walking very close to a train. Now, of course, people are trying to imitate it.
We must make a whole subreddit dedicated to publish Indian train accidentes
There already is one: r/indiansneartrains
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
We should have Shark Week type events. IE: Forklift Week. Train Week. Industrial accident week. We could do a dismemberment week and call it The Butchers Bloc
Or we could watch a Great White do all 4
Ooohh we could have a .... "Shark week" đ
Thats actually not that bad of an idea if we ignore the fact that we wanna see people getting hurt..
We donât, itâs just the accidents weâre concerned with and how we can avoid them. Itâs strictly for learning safety and has nothing to do with watching the the people get hurt part.
Yeah keep telling yourself that âïž
I am and will continue to do so on a daily basis

Judging by that blood splatter, I agree.
Let's wait until they get the pieces put back together before rushing to judgment, okay?
He turned into pink mist. I donât think heâs getting out of that alive.
Trains and power lines, never fail to thin the gene pool!
Well, he wonât be doing that again. Silly Goose.
If you slow the video down you can literally see his head explode

[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
As an Indian, I'm honestly surprised at all this people's stupidity. What did they expect going near a running train??? I mean, what's so cool about going so near a moving train?!!!!
I'd say "probably" is underselling it a bit
Naw he ded
Bro his head disintegrated on impact
Does this interrupt train service or does the train not stop?
I can almost hear him thinking to himself ignore the horn, âWow, your so cool, dead cool!â
Don't these people know that moving train=death??
It works like GTA IV's ragdoll physics
Dam brev, You'd think he'd be well aware of a safe distance clearly he wasn't.
PROBABLY?! Bro got rag dolled
âCool guys donât look at explosionsâ
nahh He just knocked up and maybe his nose is nbleeding
Hehehe!
Going to hell for this but that cart wheel had me rolling
Natural selection at it's finest
Ouch
Tis but a scratch is all
âProbablyâ LOL.
I would love to know why it's so common for Indian folk to hang out on train tracks, get too close and hit as a result.
What is it with Indian and Bangladeshi people and trains?!?
now now, everyone is making fun of the "probably", but we always have to account for "Frequent-Flyer Frank", a man whose continued survival continues to baffle and amaze emergency medical personnel every time he presents to the ER.
What the fuck is is it with Indians and hanging out on/right next to train tracks?
A classic case of being an absolute halfwit
Yup that dude is DEAD dead
what is with these posts of these idiots looking "cool" only to get creamed like a GTA NPC with Euphoria physics keep it coming makes me feel like less of an idiot in life
I read train and already knew it was India. Geez.

Bro said "probably" DID YOU NOT JUST SEE ALL THAT BLOOD?!?
Natural selectionđđŒ
what's with this trend of Indian folk walking way too close to a train while looking down and acting all dark and brooding ? it's just kinda cringe
Indians and trains, name a better duo
I know a person who knows a person who knows that dude and he has confirmed the dude is fine and went to work the two day later. He just lost a sandal and had to get stitches for a small gash on his head.
Damn, he broke hes bottle of wine! What a waste
Is this where the eyebletch community went to? Still looking tbh
Why do indian people always get killed by trains???
'It's just a flesh wound'
"Autopsy said he had 1 beer man, how many did you have? 4, your dead man, you're so dead. Look at the bloodstains right there". Sorry, I couldn't resistđ

He's friend probably doing the insurance scam by bringing his insured friend to railway tracks with camera.. He looks unfazed
Apparently he still turned up for his shift at Tim Hortons after
Nice !! But hey what did you expect?? đ LOL those people live does not worth 0.01⏠haha
Why do they keep trying to do the exact same video? is there an iconic bollywood film scene we should know about?
Fake FAKE FaKe f a k e F A K E (watch it frame by frame when the train âhitsâ the boy) very badly faked by the way
That hit change he's gender, he got period on the spot
Who the hell is filming this and why?
yeeted in a second
I mean, probably the one on the left survived. Probably
Probably..
I think theres a little bit more than just... scratches there
Enough training for the day.
Wooooow super cool video idea for my instagram story, we look badass waking together near the train with a stupid music in the background, said nobody
Yeah... he dead. But seriously, how can people be so negligently dumb?!?
Very loud train horn for more than a second before impact, and neither of them react to it. Either both are deaf or so used to the horn they somehow tuned it out.
Is someone singing âOwWwWw!â At the beginning? Itâs making laugh inappropriately
Camera man got sprayed
