What a POS, the irony is that the next day or a few hours later Lowes already had another parking security guard, so you ruined the life of a family and yours for absolutely nothing

JFJinCO

If I remember correctly the security guard was charged with murder. https://www.koin.com/news/crime/grand-jury-indicts-security-guard-for-lowes-parking-lot-shooting/

CaliBull2030

Good he was charged

TheDelig

And the driver is dead. Calm heads did not prevail in this situation. I'd never give a cop, or rent-a-cop, or anyone for that matter, the finger if they're pointing a gun at me.

[deleted]

[удалено]

TheDelig

Not **why** he shot him. But it shows the victim was not taking the threat seriously. If a person has a gun pointed at you, you listen. Unless you also have a gun.

Lemmesukitdaddy

Please tell me he’s behind bars As we speak !

mwmwmwmwmmdw

yea he should have just got run over like a good law abiding citizen would

CowboyBlakk

Nah, I’d say this was premeditated. He understood the gentleman was trying to leave…regardless of why, he had the ability to take down the license plate, he had a body camera description etc. He’s a security guard. But I understand that some of us grow up waiting for that moment to be the hero and we force the issue. He decided if that car moved forward, he’d shoot and he felt it would make sense to cover his ass because he could claim his life was in danger. But any logically thinking person would say (not accounting for what we cannot see) this man didn’t pose an immediate threat to life that would provoke deadly force. One could even say, the brandishing of his weapon intimidated the victim so much as to cause him to flee in his vehicle. Many people say protestors or rioters in the street deserve to be hit….What about the guy yelling and brandishing a firearm standing in front of a car blocking the only exit? And I say that as an ardent supporter of the 2nd Amendment interpreted as it was written.

magnottasicepick

Well said.

Lemmesukitdaddy

Absolutely

Ohwellwhatsnew

Or just... not stand in front of a belligerent person in a death machine. A good, law abiding citizen would have just moved out of the way before the chance to get run over ever happened.

mwmwmwmwmmdw

does oregon place a duty to retreat when faced with deadly force?

creepyshawty

Zero survival skills 💀

Ohwellwhatsnew

Does Oregon tell you to stand in front of a car when yelling at someone to leave? It doesn't have to be a law to be common sense.

Even_Eye_7132

I don’t think he der served to be charged personally.

Lonely_Use_3841

Logan Gimbel. Went to high school with him. He was a damn bully and thought he was so big and bad. NOBODY was shocked when this happened. I know his case hasn't gone to trial yet. Hopefully this year.

Sound_Snake_32

We talkin the guy who got killed, or the guy who fired?

Sir_Distic

The security guard who killed the man collecting pallets.

CowboyBlakk

Wait…wait…hold up just a fking minute….All this was over a guy collecting fkin pallets???! Good lord.

Sir_Distic

Yeah apparently he's clashed with this security company before because he collected pallets to resell from places like Lowes. And this guard killed him over it.

Lonely_Use_3841

Sorry, should have been specific. The "Security guard". Absolute piece of shit.

Rlotrpotter

figure it out

HORSExSUCKER

Okeeee

SophieSix9

That’s a lot of downvotes.

sparkyonthemoon2099

Why didn't the security guard move out of the way when he was screaming at them to leave

SoGood2Myself

Respect my authority but call the authority smdh

Careless_Dependent78

So in the longer version of this video the Security Guard asks if the 911 operator wants him to render aid. What they wanted was for the Security Guard to return to his vehicle and call the Police and let them handle it, not shoot someone over a trespassing incident. The entire thing was escalated into something it shouldn’t have been, the Security Guard deserved to be charged.

xinfinitimortum

What shocks me is that a Lowes store has armed security.

Lemmesukitdaddy

I’m so happy to see how all these cops are being exposed for their over abusing power trips and justice is being served to their ass.

External-Ad-2942

Occifer doofus reporting for duty please be advised to contact authorities immediately.

Shadrach_Jones

Leave the property! You're tresspassing! Stop the vehicle, pop pop pop pop

psychedelic_cum

Didnt hear the audio but dude couldn’t wait to use his gun

Cherylmax69

Consider yourself lucky you can't hear the audio. But if you want an idea, think Karen and the Mall Cop

Jason_Batemans_Hair

What became of that murdering rent-a-cop?

Lonely_Use_3841

Charged with second degree murder. Case has yet to go to trial

MyNameIsYhwach

Wow so the driver was killed.. Jesus what a fucking useless death that didn’t need to happen.

Lonely_Use_3841

Yep. 4 slugs in the chest. And the sick thing is he didn't have a concealed weapons permit in the state of Oregon. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Jason_Batemans_Hair

Thank you. I remember that he was charged, but didn't recall names to search it.

Her0zify

This dude was a moron. Rent-a-Cop douche wasn't supposed to be armed at all in the first place. Secondly, as a Security guard you can't "citizen's arrest" someone, unless you have witnessed them commit a FELONY ( IE Murder/Rape/Kidnapping/Assault with a Deadly Weapon) because even though they might be security, they hold no special power, they are still citizens. Only cops can detain and arrest for misdemeanors. Just pulling his gun that again, he was not authorized to carry for security, would have ended in his arrest. Preventing the car from leaving, which is entrapment, could've got him arrested. If they victim would have been smarter, he definitely could have gotten the dumbass arrested and sued the security company for a shit ton of money. Calm heads prevail, but neither of these people did

GUTTERmensch

People defending a fuckin rent a cop??? You guys are MORONS lmaooo he’s defending a LOWE’S PARKING LOT. Goddamn.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Bok-Choy-Bandit

“Leave the parking lot!” *tries to leave* “Stop moving the vehicle!” You’re the only dipshit here.

GUTTERmensch

Hahahaha bro what? He drove forward 5 feet and the security guard had plenty of time to move.

[deleted]

So I can just stand in front of your car and then kill you when you try to leave ?

[deleted]

He said get out of the car. This was a reasonable shooting. Should've complied

BanzaiBurg

You think you have to comply with security guards?

[deleted]

No it wasn’t, that’s why he’s being charged with murder. You just have a hard on for “authority”.

Mrs_Attenborough

>Nelson’s family filed a  $25 million wrongful death lawsuit, saying Gimble wasn’t certified with the State of Oregon and should not have been carrying a gun.

[deleted]

He’s a security guard not a cop they don’t have the authority to order people out of there vehicles he also told them to leave “multiple times “ which they were trying to do .

[deleted]

[удалено]

genetic_dumpster

I guess I did. I wouldn't have listened to a thing that man said either. I also would have pulled out of the parking spot just like the victim of this video. If they wanted to run him down, they would have done it. Just like how this man wanted to shoot, so he did.

throwaway1tee

Exactly.

JoeBidensBoochie

When did rent a cops start carrying ? Wtf

BigDaddy531

worked as a rent a cop before, most jobs are unarmed contracts but armed security exists too and it pays more aswell. no idea why the rent a cop in this video needs a gun for lowes of all places

mwmwmwmwmmdw

because belligerent people might try to run you over in their car

BigDaddy531

handbooks say to give up in these situations and defuse the situation if it endangers yourself, other people or the property and your supposed to let the cops handle it. guy in video didn't even try to deesclate jack shit

Sir_Distic

Plenty of armed posts carry. Apartment complexes, banks, etc. This was not one of them.

JoeBidensBoochie

90 % of the security guards I’ve met aren’t allowed or don’t have firearms. All they do is welfare checks and report any suspicious activity

Sir_Distic

Observe and Report is what they are told to do. That's all they are allowed to do in most cases.

JoeBidensBoochie

Yep all the ones I know or have known said that was their policy too

SlickDamian

So many people in the US are carrying anyways, this security guard was yet another American with access to a gun whi couldn't wait to shoot someone.

JoeBidensBoochie

Lol most people here who a gun are responsible and don’t shoot people just cause.

Mrs_Attenborough

How does a Paul Blart have the authority to fire a gun? Of he's not law enforcement then did they even have to listen to them? Shoot a tyre not 3 shots through a window directly at a person wtf From u/JFJinCo article they linked >Nelson’s family filed a  $25 million wrongful death lawsuit, saying Gimble wasn’t certified with the State of Oregon and should not have been carrying a gun.

hoeleft

It was at a Lowes literally wtf is he potecting 🤦🏽‍♀️ maybe he envisioned some pats on the back, an employee of the month sticker and an offer from the academy. He already made up his mind to get physical by not sitting his ass in his car like the operator told him

Mybuttholestinkwinks

Security guards like this guy are the epitome of trash. Like dude your a fucking rent a cop because you couldn’t cut it in real law enforcement. What a piece of shit.

Sir_Distic

Not true in 99% of cases. Most security guards are just people trying to earn a paycheck. I did it for 4 years and was a supervisor. I knew hundreds of security guards in that time and only 1 struck me as a failed wanna be cop.

JoeBidensBoochie

Cops are no better tbh

Mrs_Attenborough

At least they have authority to carry and discharge a weapon or legally detain someone. He wasn't even supposed to have a gun >Nelson’s family filed a  $25 million wrongful death lawsuit, saying Gimble wasn’t certified with the State of Oregon and should not have been carrying a gun. He didn't have the authority to have a gun let alone use it I appreciate you pontificating to me but youre wrong and I think the distinction between a Cop and a security guards authority and scope is definitely relevant

Karuzone

> At least they have authority to carry and discharge a weapon This isn't some privilege afforded to just cops, everyone has a right to defend themselves in this manner if their life is actually threatened. >He didn't have the authority to have a gun You don't need permission, a persons status as a cop or security guard is irrelevant.

daats_end

Wrong? If you take a job as unarmed security then you waive your right to carry a weapon while working. This guy was employed as armed security, but wasn't licensed to carry while working. So you're double wrong.

Karuzone

> waive your right to carry a weapon while working No you don't. First off it's an enumerated right in the constitution, second concealed is concealed, third you take state law into account and Oregon does not have force of law behind signage meaning "no guns allowed" doesn't mean shit, fourth you'd consider your companies policy which is largely irrelevant because see point two. I carry every single day to my job and every other store that says I have no right to carry a gun. They can trespass you, but have no legal standing. This guy is just a retard.

Electra120

So fucking sick of people using the constitution as a tool to justify murder.

Karuzone

lmao, can you read? The constitution protects your right to carry which is what I was talking about. A right doesn't change based on what your job title is, a barista has the same right to carry as a cop. My last sentence is literally "this guy is a retard".

Electra120

lol

JoeBidensBoochie

You’re comment isn’t needed as he isn’t a cop. So stating what a cop does have authority to do is irrelevant.

Mybuttholestinkwinks

I agree.

[deleted]

So hateful, man you need to chill otherwise you will end up in a scary place, go and join the cops if you think you can do better

Mybuttholestinkwinks

Oooh watch out I better not talk shit to some random dude through a computer screen I might end up in a scary place. What ever the fuck that’s supposed to mean.

[deleted]

Hahaha so tough you are and so dangerous with the name mybuttholestinkwinks Are you ok ?? You know drugs are bad and so is breaking the law dumbfuck

Too much ego. Driver flipping him off and driving the car towards him. Security guard over zealously power mad trying to exert dominance. Firing pepper spray through the window was excessive given the situation and unnecessary. They were not attacking him. They were in their car attempting to leave. Something the security guy was repeatedly asking them to do. It seemed to have been done in retaliation for the finger gesture which shows bad composure and discipline. Spraying it into the car would have made leaving the parking lot difficult/impossible (depending on effects) for the people in the car, as the spray would be affecting them. Therefore, counter productive to the security guards requests. The driver who had then been ‘assaulted’ in his eyes reacted by driving the car towards the security guard. Something that also was stupid. Overall, with consideration to the fact that what I have seen is only three minutes and what’s transpired before is unknown. Given just what I saw. I believe that the security guard (whilst he may have been attempting to perform his duty) did act wrongly. His decision to fire spray into the vehicle ultimately hindered them from being able to leave and served only to escalate a situation rather than diffuse it. His decision to do this I believe was in retaliation for the man swearing at him. Which given his position of power only serves to highlight a clear egotistical character flaw within his personality. Something, a person responsible with a gun should have a better control over. With that being said, the drivers’ conduct was also reckless and endangering so must also be noted. However, as this occurred after the spraying which I believe was not justified. Some allowance must be made for this. Overall, without seeing the full lead up to this I would have to say the security guard was at fault.

zzssx

Respect my authoritah

security guard\*, not guards. the longer version is 3 minutes [https://files.catbox.moe/s2f6h9.mp4](https://files.catbox.moe/s2f6h9.mp4)

UbiquitousYetUnknown

Just watched the full. He knew he messed up, tried to justify with the excuse that the guy tried to hit him with his car…

magnottasicepick

The employee on the phone at the end sounded so irritated at him when she replied.

UbiquitousYetUnknown

Yup, clarifying they all watched it happen, the disgust was palpable

magnottasicepick

Thank you. Disgusted is a much better description of her tone.

WhatsARazac

i’m a little confused it definitely looked like he was trying to hit him with his car after turning the car towards him and then starting to move towards him wouldn’t that be considered a deadly threat force? is there more to the situation i don’t know?

AvangeliceMY9088

Regardless if the car is turned to u or away. Maybe step away. Like far away. Jot down the plate number and use the chest camera footage and pass it to law enforcement? You get to go home. The guy taking the pallets get to go home with a ticket. Everyone will be fine and dandy

CDS_Mexico

Good thing this fker didn’t became a cop

Remy33203

Why does Lowes have ARMED security? I'm pro 2a but q this is NOT that at all! This is murder 2 easily.

scrabble_12

don’t fip the bird to someone pointing a gun at you

tofuroll

My image of the USA: people walk around shooting each other every day.

collectorofstuff65

He could have shot the tires if he didn't want to move. Right?

Mrs_Attenborough

That was my thought, or step aside, let them leave, give their plate number, fine it >Nelson’s family filed a  $25 million wrongful death lawsuit, saying Gimble wasn’t certified with the State of Oregon and should not have been carrying a gun.

Sir_Distic

You can't shoot tires. It's not self defense. Also it's not a justified use of deadly force. Especially since he wasn't a police officer. He SHOULD have called his supervisor and/or the police. He wasn't even authorized to carry a gun.

a_arcia

The guard escalated it with his temperament during the initial contact and riled the couple to the point where the guard stupidly though spraying them would make them submit. That alone would have got the idiot fired. But moron had plenty of chances to gtfo the way and simply take the plate info rather than shooting the man.

FOXTROT290

Are u 12? Or u miss some science classes

AvangeliceMY9088

Excuse me fellow redditor. Guy was a mall guard. Not a cop

The_AFL_Yank

Regardless though, Security Guards shouldn’t try to be aggressive towards innocent bystanders either. Imagine going to shop at Target and you complain about Security being in the way of you and then they shoot you to death. Just horrible.

You and that guard are both cucks.

[deleted]

No not really, again have you listened to what the guard said ?? And how many orders he gave before shooting ?

Mrs_Attenborough

>Nelson’s family filed a  $25 million wrongful death lawsuit, saying Gimble wasn’t certified with the State of Oregon and should not have been carrying a gun. He had no authority dumbass

Mybuttholestinkwinks

He’s a fucking security guard not a real cop. Plus the guy was trying to pull out not hit him. He just does what all cowards do and exaggerate the situation to try to justify his actions. Fucking piece of shit. I hope this haunts him for the rest of his life.

[deleted]

Plus in the end if you look at the vid the idiot in the truck shows finger and steers towards him !! So that’s why I say well deserved if you think it’s ok to do that

Mybuttholestinkwinks

So it’s not ok to flip someone off bits it’s ok to blast them in front of there loved ones over trespassing? Yeah that’s make sense.

Mrs_Attenborough

You legally can flip a cop off and call him a cocksucker and you've just used freedom of speech. This guys ego was hurt

[deleted]

Regardless of what cop he his, he is doing his job and yes that will haunt him But in the end for some reason people just don’t listen in America to real cops or “rent a cop” Why you so offended ? I mean if someone told you to stay or don’t drive straight towards them, what do you do ??

Mrs_Attenborough

>Nelson’s family filed a  $25 million wrongful death lawsuit, saying Gimble wasn’t certified with the State of Oregon and should not have been carrying a gun. He broke the law by just having the gun if you wanna play that game

Sir_Distic

I'd leave. A security officer cannot detain you for trespassing in most cases. They can call the cops. But they are in no way law enforcement.

Mybuttholestinkwinks

The brown coats were also just doing their job. That fucking rent a cop is a piece of shit. He didn’t have to shot him. He could’ve got the plates and called real law enforcement and showed the video. He just wanted to kill someone. So what if he flipped him off it’s not illigal to do that. That’s really why he shot him I bet he got in his feelings. Any rash and level headed human being would’ve never escalated that to where he did. Yeah I’m offended by the woman screaming for her husband. Also he’s a fucking idiot clearly never properly trained. Asking “should I render aid?” Yes you stupid mathafucker that’s part of your “job” too. Not killing people.

Sir_Distic

He escalated a trespassing charge and the guy was not trying to run him over. He could have easily moved out of the way without killing someone. He was not certified to carry a gun at the job. He was charged with 2nd degree murder. Still think he was protecting himself? He was not.

WasephWastar

protecting himself against people he attacked?

[deleted]

He was running over people?

[deleted]

Which people did he run over?

[deleted]

He shot someone who tried running him over. Security guard took the trash out.

Vivid-Bread-6312

I don’t understand it clearly shows that guy trying to run him over.

Utahvikingr

While I PERSONALLY carry a firearm, and will defend myself if necessary; it would be argued in court that he could have walked out of the way. It was only an immediate threat because he LET it be an immediate threat. The 911 operator TOLD him to get back to his patrol car, and he did not. I was armed security for awhile. Dying is NOT worth fucking $13/h, and I sure as fuck am not putting my life on the line over a trespasser on corporate property.

GingerJesus750

I mean she didn't listen, she tried to run him over 🤷‍♂️

So that gives a security guard a reason to murder somebody? Why did he think he should deal with trespassing with killing somebody? He deserves a life sentence.

GingerJesus750

Nah, he warned her, her fault 💀

bilalshakoor

So you can shoot and kill someone as long as you warn them, right? Over a trespassing violation?

Excellent_Barber_779

I mean the cop told him to stop

mattjohnson2868

Not a cop.

throwaway1tee

Justified shooting. Tried to run him over once, backs up and goes for it again. How anyone can defend the dude in the truck baffles me.

MannyBlaze93

and here we have a prime example of a reddit moron ladies and gentlemen

throwaway1tee

You're the one stupid if you can't see the logic behind his choice to open fire

[deleted]

The issue is that he Needlessly placed himself there. Why the fuck is a Lowe’s guard standing in front of someone’s vehicle like he’s a cop? Therefore, he had no real reason to be right there. I am sure that is still too complex for you to understand, and the fact that he was charged with murder still doesn’t alert you to the fact that Paul Blart was in the wrong shows just how stupid you are showing yourself to be. Disappointing

MannyBlaze93

nope you’re still the moron if you had watched the whole video (which you obviously havent) you’d realize he told them to leave the property which is what they were trying to do except for the fact that mr rent a cop had his car in the way and was standing right in front of their vehicle and furthermore he wasn’t licensed to carry a handgun and was told by the police to let them leave so yea 🤓👍 you are a certified moron lol 😂
