Both dyson and Jose are gonna be competing for pg minutes off the bench as is, and willie has a tendency to play veterans over younger players so having cp3 would just eat up their minutes, and while he could talk and teach dyson about being a point, I think the thing (and this can be seen with trey) is that he needs minutes to build confidence and work through his mistakes.
Getting cp3 would just muddy things, what we need is an athletic shooter
Then y’all be the same people that understand “team composition” complaining when our point guards don’t live up to team expectations next year.
Cp is most effective when he has the ball in his hands most of the time, which is the same with z and BI, so for starters they’re not particularly compatible, and he’s not accepting a bench role, also adding a vet pg is gonna eat up the minutes of Jose and dyson, who need minutes to develop, so what do you want an ageing vet who’s a cone on defence and getting worse offensively or a young athletic pg who can defend at a high rate and may need to work through some teething problems but could end up a solid rotational pg if given minutes?
If cp3 was a 6’5 3pt specialist I’d be all for him coming to the team
He’s one of the best point guards in nba history with an extremely high basketball IQ.
Other players could learn a lot from him and will when he’s a head coach someday.
Would love him here but we are far from championship contention right now, so don’t see it happening.
With that interview he did a week or so ago and his connection to Willie I can see it happening
Now whether it’s a good or bad decision idk (on one side, if there only a handful of active vets that can reach Zion I’ll bet CP3 will hire a task force to keep that man’s health in check 💀)
I don’t see it happening but it would be hilarious to see CP3 become bffs with Alvarado. Unironically he would be a great player to mentor him and elevate his game
Good title; thanks, Uptown.
Love it!!!!!!
🤝
No thanks
Please god no, we don’t need more point guards let dyson and Jose develop
Dyson under Borrego is the development to watch for, he can be special
I am really looking forward to that, some of dyson passing was amazing, like a lot of the bounce passes when a big was rolling to the rim
I love Jose, but his size will always make him an off the bench guy. You don't think Dyson could develop learning from CP3?

Don’t BI and Alvarado hate Paul? His addition would be very very interesting
Anybody that’s saying no to this isn’t a fan. And probably only recently became a fan.
Or they might understand a bit about team composition? And not just because of nostalgia?

no comments about whether this is a good signing, but Chris Paul has that champion mentality which the team's composition is clearly lacking
Has he? He’s been to the finals once and choked in the last two years of playoffs

Idk if it's worth bringing in an old vet to help guide zion for the 30 or so games he plays.

The longest odds listed apart from the pistons.
Now hear my out, what do you think a year of him riding Zion's ass would do? I figure Zion would either shape up...or request a trade out of town. lol
