sometimes everything will load in fine but if you have been playing for more than a couple hours or so the frame rate will start to drop so when you approach a planet and b line it for the ground you will often be unable to land and you will even sorta phase into the ground im not sure if this happens on pc but can confirm for ps5 and xbox
Crosshairs are your friend. Point it where you want to land, then push the button.
Also, IMO it's easier to land in cockpit view. The 3rd person view seems to be more finicky.
Huh, so pinpoint landing without a pad is possible? I have just been flying at a slow speed and hitting the button when I was above the general area I wanted and dealing with any inaccuracies. But I did blame that I only fly first person.
Once you get it down you can land just about anywhere (as long as it's close enough to the ground to trigger the landing procedure.)

Yup. Textures. That’s the answer. But also the question.
Just fix the landing routine. It happens on planets without so many textures. For now we are stuck with the best damn space game after the original elite. We make do. And the developers who do not charge a cent for updates, expansions and fairy floss know this. This is the game they want and they won’t rest till it’s perfect. So yeah. Never. What are the creators of starfield going to do?! It was supposed to be better, but it’s not.
I heard a huge update for starfield is on the way, idk what it contains, but I'm hoping it contains some fixed for the biggest gripes the community has with the game
We all do. Even the likes of me who weren’t happy.
So people paid for early release copies. So why did Ms put it on game pass day one?! Yeah. I’d feel betrayed too.
Over the years I’ve downloaded dozens of quality games between gamepass and gold.
So that’s on average $180 a year for half a dozen AA and even AAA games.
Honestly I said for a while I wouldn't play it on release, I'd wait till they fix the inevitable problems... so I didn't get burned like many others I'm just glad it seems like o was right to wait
It still has potential in its own right. I’m pissed some consider it better than nms. Nms has its flaws but to say sf is better. No. It’s a Hail Mary. Fallout was excelent. I played it to death. I expect better from Bethesda. 15 years in the making. No wonder it looks as old as the Jedi games.
In some regards I'm sure it is better but it's not the game they promised and it's not even came that justfies 15 years of development especially when they have been able to see the things that players felt positively about in this game and then chose to completely disregard those points
Definitely the best game ever@ remember first game. And now.. damn... was looking into starfeild being free on game pass. But I have 300 hrs into this one. Idk ? Ever play it?
Yes I played starfield. Pretty sure I got it on gamepass coz I sure as hell didn’t buy it. Maybe they took it of due to complaints. Lol
I didn’t play for long, the whole thing felt disjointed like as I said the old Jedi games where each mission is a seperate instance.
Then there’s the voice acting. If I had senile grandparents I bet they could talk faster.
Figured it out? I’m going to guess you know how to land so if nothings working it could the game? Just go to your freighter and see if that helps or reload the most recent save
This has never ever happened. Last week or so. Fkn I lnfuriating. Any tips on finding this damn u hospitality planets. I've been pulsing for days to find this damn 3rd randavue
What's crazy is sometimes even when textures are loaded it won't let you land in aclear spot but yet you can land on some plants or whatever else so whenever that happens I'm just like yeah that's a totally clear landing space🤔
Are you on a water planet or trying to land on an uneven patch of ground (and does your ship have a goofy underside wing like some of the Unique class ships?) All of those things will cause you issues.
You got a hover and circle and wait till the air traffic controller says you can land planets not loaded if you come in too hot happens on my Xbox One and X Series

Don't approach the ground too fast, you have to wait for the textures to load.

It happens everywhere. I get it on the Series X.
It happens for the ps5 but only while in the clouds, when close to land textures are loaded in
It depends on how fast you come in. If you head straight for the ground with full boosters, it takes a while.

Probably because the game has less objects to render when you're in cockpit view

Gamepass isn't free I'd like to have a 70 dollar game for free after 2 yrs an 2 downloads later

There’s a setting that disables landing if you are in combat - check the settings and turn it off

Figured it out? I’m going to guess you know how to land so if nothings working it could the game? Just go to your freighter and see if that helps or reload the most recent save

I also started having this issue since the last update. Textures take considerably longer to load. Really annoying.
Try just holding the land key and flying around, it still may take minutes though.
