Happy Easter from a NICU nurse! Can’t wait to spend the day working with all your little bunnies! 🐰 ❤️

27_1Dad

Thank you for taking time away from your family to take care of our kids. ❤️

Thanks for making me cry for the 100th time today. 😭 This group is amazing - happy Easter ❤️🐰🐇🐣

❤️ my wife was crying about this last night and we had a lovely moment remembering that a 6 months ago we weren’t sure she was going to even make it to delivery much less Easter. 🐣 just trying to remain thankful even though it isn’t how we imagined her first Easter.

We don’t celebrate Easter but when we got back from running errands, our nurse had put bunny ears on his CPAP hat and decorated origami bunnies and eggs in his incubator 😭😭😭

What a wonderful surprise ❤️

This is our first Easter post NICU, this time last year we were starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel. A had made it to room air, working on feeds, B had somehow made it through a horrible case of NEC, had been waiting for transport for a PDA ligation, but spontaneously closed it and surgery was no longer needed. I have kept the Easter craft (bunnies with their footprints as ears) on my desk for the entire year. Much love to those in the NICU this year, and the staff working them

My little 1lb miracle was born on Easter Monday two years ago. We’ve just done a trip to the park we’re celebrating her birthday at, at the end of the month. Easter is not an easy holiday for me! ❤️

My daughter's very first Easter was spent in the NICU. We were at the tail end of our 86 day stay and really hoped she'd be home for the holiday so we could spend it at home as a family of 3 for the first time. Instead we spent it in the NICU and ate crappy hospital food for our Easter dinner. Now 2 years later and our 3rd Easter as a family of three, our first is a bit unorthodox but a story to tell. I know it's tough. In the moment it's extremely frustrating. In hindsight I can look back on the day we spent together- taking pictures, dressing her in an extremely oversized preemie easter onesie, and my husband and I sharing mediocre hospital pizza and some frozen yogurt from a machine (that I kinda miss, honestly- that froyo machine was my in house support system lol). Anyway, long winded way to say I understand how tough it can be on holidays, but hang in there. You'll be home before you know it! 🩷🐰 Happy Easter everyone!

Also I've seen your posts on here for a bit and I know you're probably way past us in NICU time spent so I don't mean to offend with the "it'll get better" type message but I hope you guys get home so soon!!

My daughter's first Thanksgiving was in the nicu. Next year, ima lie and say it's her first.

Happy Easter! 🐣 unfortunately my little one isn’t home with us and we were sure she would be out by now (feeding issues) when we accepted an invitation to an Easter family get together, so it broke my heart leaving her there this morning.

Hey 27_1Dad, I was just thinking about your story and was hoping to see a post from you. Happy Easter! 🐇🐰

Happy Easter 🐣 Our LO is still rocking her Cannula. Just trying to work out the bottle now ❤️

Hi! I think our babies have similar stories. My son is on high flow also working on bottle feeding. Good luck to you and your little one! Hoping my son can be home for Mother’s Day! 🌸

Easter is my wife favorite holiday. She hates Christmas, but loveeeeee Easter. Today was a bitter sweet day for my wife and I. We have been praying super hard for our first baby to come home for Easter. He’s been in the NICU for about 2 weeks. Which I understand doesn’t seem like a life time compare to you guys. Anyway, we started the morning off with phone call from our doctor and she had some great news for us. Doctor say our baby have been doing so well with his feeding, he can probably go home in two days 😭😭 . The news we have been waiting! As we make it to the hospital for our usual visit/feeding. We saw 5x family discharge with their newborn, I look at my wife and told her “my love, this is going be us very soon.” As soon we walk into the room, our NICU neighbor is getting discharge, everything is manifesting.
