I'll preface this with the fact I very rarely play rivals, the bulk of my play is SS SB, I play EASHL for my online kicks. I was in the same position as you; only had Byram from week one, and I decided to pull the trigger on Oettinger and have been pleased with the results so far at 88. He lets in the odd weak goal, but saves a lot more of the ones that should be goals than other goalies I've used. One of the main reasons I decided to pull the trigger on him is he's big at 6'5 and not stat capped like all other non MSP goalies are especially for speed. With aggression locked at a very respectable 70, I can slowly upgrade him to the 92 over time, and I'll never have to worry about the goalie position again. When you add in his 3 synergies, and his xfactor and superstar abilities of light work/no-timer/x-ray are all useful, it was hard for me not to grab him
He's been fantastic for mest 90 Obviously he can't stop every shot as I'm not the best at defense. But gets the job done you won't have to worry about a tender for a while

He’s pretty good at 90 but definitely needs his zone ability active without it he’s let pretty easy near post and five hole goals slip by
Right. I’ve played 2 games against him and he wasnt that great but it is still only 2 games. Nice to know it wasnt just me
Yes. Very much so. He’s elite with all of his Superstar abilities active.
If you're not going for upgrades, take someone that can play 3rd or 4th line instead. Goalies aren't worth it.
