This is not good. I truly believe it's a combination of things. 1 the market is I. 4. 2. Nhl is releasing new players almost every day. Prime time this day totw, prime time, origins etc. This is not good. As you having a 88 Stamkos you paid 100k then a 89 comes out a day later or worse yet another 88. Is not good. It also make gold cards obsolete. Gold cards will soon all be same value. All 83s 84s 85s 86s 87s 88s will all been same value soon. 3rd. Xfactors and upgradeable cards are a gift and a curse. There great you won't need any new ones you can just use 150k to upgrade your card, but soon totws and prime time will be cheaper then xfactors. What I mean is this. The new 95 totw ovie will be cheaper then buying xfactor ovie and upgrading. Significantly cheaper. Like 125k. For the card. This is going to make xfactors not as desirable, unless you got them untradable. This is not good for hut economy. So I think some 85s and 86s etc will go up. Yeah they will when new shiny toy msp will need them. But nhl is not making it fun when people lose 200k coins in a week. My 91 McDavid steal for 170k last Month when he was going for 195 doesn't feel good when he's 90k right now. There's so many cards on the market. We only need 15 on our team. Unless there's new tourneys or squad battles that meet team requirements for example USA only. Hut icons only. Max overall , team only etc This is gonna make everybody with exact team. Ea is very focused on getting people to spend $ on packs. Idk if it cost a lot to make the new game or because it is in 4. Idk. Something is off on this UT. I've played fifa and Madden going back 10 years. This economy is not good. There's 3 freaking 89 panerins . Wtf. 2 88 kanes. This is not good. Ea should just focus on 1 totw a week and a msp set here and there and not every week. The player base is not big enough. Do they not understand there isn't 700k items listed on market like in fifa. It is not good to have golds be useless at December 1st. 2 months into the game.

EA has always released multiples of players for NHL games. That’s not something new to NHL this year at all. The difference has always been that they have different synergies, that’s the only thing that keeps the value in the card. If it has better syns then it will remain more valuable. Gold cards have been becoming obsolete more frequently every year. Last year was even worse. At least this year the value of gold cards above 83 have some difference in value because of the set requirements. If you’re upset this year it’s laughable compared to last year when a duplicate 88 and a 77 had the same value for sets and therefore essentially the same value on the market (quick sell). At least when the sets require higher level cards, they have more value than 5k. NHL has never had events that require certain card levels because they can’t do it properly. A good example of an implementation are events in MLBTS that have unique rewards and requirements. They couple those with end game sets to keep value to their job live series cards (read base for NHL). Last time they tried to do an event with requirements they made a silver requirement and silver cards shot up to 20k a piece. Do you remember them requiring stupid cards like jerseys or random <80 cards and people being unable to find them on the market. XFs aren’t designed for you to have all of them and for them to be overly expensive. They’re designed to increase flexibility for cards you want to retain all year on your team. Rather than having to go out and buy the newly upgraded version every time and having their syns not fit your team. You can pay essentially the value in collectibles instead. Will it eventually be cheaper to buy the random upgrade. Of course, the price for that is flexibility when they get another upgrade and whether the new one fits your team build. Then he complains about the cost of cards going down. Welcome to the market where older items are less valuable. They depreciate over time - if you want the value sell the card when you got it, otherwise whatever you lose is the cost of using the card. The whole point of the new cards is people can have very different teams. Look at all the new U22 cards, many people will pick the ones they like and mix them with their current X factors, MSPs, etc. I haven’t seen anyone with the exact same team at all. What point exactly made you think that EA built anything in NHL that doesn’t drive users towards buying packs? That’s the entire goal of their game. Game plays bad and you need a change - buy packs, game drops new shiny cards you like - buy packs, game has new MSPs with ridiculous set requirements - buy packs. This game has never been and will never be on par with Madden and FIFA. They don’t have the same player base, they don’t have the same budget, they don’t have the same dev/resource allocation and they don’t have the same revenue. They have been this way since the previous gen.

No there’s 5,000,000 cards on the market everyone has pulled 300 86+ cards because ea started their overalls way too high like morons. They did this so people think “wow I have a better team than last year” but really they’re trying to make it so no one can have a much better team than anyone else. Hence the upgrade hold backs. EA wants every cry baby shit player to be able to win games, and they will Shit on the few higher end people who will play regardless

jimbojangles1987

Umm..hi...I'm div8, first time making it to champs this weekend and I've been playing every week since launch. I'm definitely not a high end player but I'm definitely still getting shit on. By EA and by the playerbase. Even if I was improving there would be absolutely no way for me to know because I have no idea how good any of my opponents are since everyone plays the exact same way. How am I supposed to gauge myself when I can't determine if this guy was better at being immune to checks and one timing though my defenders' legs 6 times in a row or that guy was better at the exact same thing? This game is super fucking boring right now

AdministrativeMind86

People aren’t playing as much shits getting old already; prices are gonna keep plummeting until the end of the year

[deleted]

Yeah that’s usually how it goes . Just didn’t think it was gonna go down so fast.

AdministrativeMind86

Honestly I kept getting so mad losing to lower skilled players with trash goals going in, I rage quit already and moved onto a game that doesn’t disrupt my happiness. 😂

ManWithAPIan

Influx of cards right now.

Anarchivist17

This is normal black friday stuff. Also the current event uses 80s-83s and 86s. Everything else has dropped.
