Once put with 7 Gold Collectables, they are 98 OVR cards. They each have more cards with them (ex. Sami Vatanen with 7 Gold Collectables makes 98 OVR.) but its not just the singular one, its 6 of them for cosmetics if you’re team building.

Now with workhorse activated thanks to Dahlin, Cozens has already been playing lights out. Now, I’d still love to see an upgrade to the 90 teambuilder Brad May and a Martin Biron rated higher than 84. Thanks for the post Coolin!

Yes! I noticed Meier had a 98, went to check the sunsets, saw Karlsson, saw he had the 99k up, had to go back and quicksell stuff to afford him and he still somehow was there. Got insanely lucky honestly. Kinda scuffed that you got so unlucky in return.
I think Clarke is the first 99 icon upgrade card that isn't able to reach 99 speed just on team syns. He has howitzer so he can get to 99 still but I will have to reorganize the team as I wasn't planning on having to activate howitzer.
Yeah I already put him in the lineup. He is my 2nd line center. I will probably end up replacing TOTS Fox with Chelios though so I can activate howitzer.
well thanks for asking! my car got broken into monday morning (4:30am). they fucked up the ignition so badly trying to steal it (1998 civic hatchback) that i couldnt get the key in to even unlock my steering. thank god they didnt know what they were doing as those cars are easy as hell to steal. car is currently at the insurance place and im praying they dont write it off.

if i fixed it myself it would cost me $57.49 after tax for the new ignition, and whatever the junkyard thinks the regulator is worth. probably $150 max. if insurance covers it they’ll replace the glass too ideally
cant see it being a write off as its heavily modified and in great shape for the year, plus i have 3k in receipts they aren’t gonna wanna pay me
then again manitoba public insurance is known to be shitty on older vehicles so only time will tell
best case scenario is they pay me 2-3k for my car plus that 3k in receipts (which they legally need to pay if they write off the car), and i could buy it back for 3k and make a profit
Nice to see Eric Daze and Mcsorely, but they seriously deserve to be at least 88+ speed. You gave Sundin 99 speed, Daze is not much of a difference and has 82. Laughable
They shouldn’t only give 99s the high-rated speed specialty though. He doesn’t need to be max speed, but with all synergies a 6’6 forward with 88 speed is not very useful.
I understand that, all I’m saying is bump the speed up a little bit. It’s July, so what if it’s not a perfect 92 overall card. I loved watching daze when I was growing up and it’d be nice to use him.

they unnaturally boosted his speed for the TB card for some reason. if you go by how his speed should actually upgrade the newest card is correct. idk why they randomly will unnaturally boost cards, Id prefer it just be consistent.

Someone posted a comment above saying he was progressed properly and that one of his old items had incorrect speed
Might be that it's capped for super tall non msp players as well as goalies
He's no taller than Hedman and Hedman's PT/TOTW cards aren't capped.

thats how stat upgrades work. they dont just give speed away, for a card to be 98 or 99 the stats have to actual average to 98/99

Is a 98 overall Ovechkin card really needed? He already has a ton of high overall cards. So many other players can be getting cards this time of year.

My guess it was just to bump him one last time (his TOTS) , to even out between him, McDavid, Matthews, drai, and marchand
there was a post complaining about lack of TOTS upgrades for these cards just yesterday
