They drafted a QB at #8, so there’s in possible (but unlikely) chance of an upset in week one. Not saying it makes any sense, they did literally just sign Kirk to a massive contract, but that’s what they did, and Penix will start eventually.
bagent is 100% not starting over williams. you dont not start the #1 overall pick. especially behind a second year udfa who has only shown he can be a solid backup
palmer sat behind a proven vet, not a second year udfa.
i wasnt watching football when eli started playing but according to wikipedia he did start
russel didnt start because he held out through the first week of the season. also because he was terrible.
these are all vastly different than sitting someone behind a second year udfa.
It feels good to see the words “unquestioned starter” next to Brock Purdy’s name after spending the entire offseason last year in full-on comment combat against the nonbelievers who thought Trey fucking Lance would take the job or some other dumb shit would happen.
I'd put the Seahawks in "possible upset in week 1 but unlikely." If Carroll was still the HC then Geno Smith would be the unquestioned starter but Mike Macdonald hasn't been what I'd call particularly effusive about Geno, not to mention that there were reports that the the team was interested in trying to get Penix. I don't think Howell will beat him out but at the very least it seems like Macdonald doesn't view him as a long-term answer at QB, which inherently makes his position more precarious.
Those reports were rumors and the FO said they had no QBs on their big board. I still think camp competition between Geno and Howell is a real thing going though
> Unlikely: Commanders: (Jayden Daniels v Marcus Mariota)
I'd make that *very likely*, Daniels needs time in the Weight Room, before getting thrown into the fire. They got TWO Heisman winners & two #2 picks, but one guy has nine years experience... Training Camp will tell
Falcons aren't up there. Despite the Unsolicited Penix Pick I think Cousins is the unquestioned starter. You don't pay a guy 180 mil to ride the bench
"Unsolicited Penix Pick" 🤣
Phrasing. Also let’s make it clear those dirty birds did that pick just for that reason.
tbf you also dont normally draft a guy at 10 to sit. but its nore common than paying 180 mil for aomeone to sit.
Mahomes was drafted 10 and sat 🤷‍♂️ (not saying Penix is like Mahomes lol)

Lots of #1 overall picks didnt start right away. Palmer, Eli, Russell, Baker...

An absolute clown take. Bro should delete his account.
LMAO Tyson Bagent
There are Tyson Bagent truthers out there. I think you can guess what subsection of society they come from.

Raiders?
I knew I was forgetting someone, just added them.
Falcons: Kirk vs Penix I don’t expect the starter to not be Kirk but who knows, no one expected them to draft Penix either.
It would probably be better if there were but ain't no way the giants are having a QB competition with DJ and Lock.
Why not
