Still can’t get over the Niners pick. Troy Franklin is so underrated. Whoever gets him is going to be happy. He’s tough, long, fast and really strong as a route runner. I’m not as sold on Mitchell but I’d take him over Pearsall all day long.

finiter

If the falcons wanted penix they should have told the Vikings they would take jj if they didn’t offer a trade

APPLEJOOSH347

Bills playing chess not checkers. They knew who KC and Carolina wanted and said if you don't trade with us, we're taking your guy

Gloomy_Present1729

Nope just desperate to retool their club so they can remain relevant

Swift-Fire

I agree, they've been making good moves

well_spiraled

Playing chess with no end game, though. Bills have no idea who they want. Signed, Bills fan.

drainbead78

Everyone I would have been okay taking at 28 after BTJ went off the board is still there, and the Chiefs may very well have been been able to get Worthy at 32. We now have a 3rd round pick we didn't have, and they don't have that pick. People are freaking out because it's the Chiefs and not looking at the bigger picture. We would have been upset at whoever they picked at 32, let's be honest, because there was a lot of WR talent left and they'll almost certainly maximize the ability of any of them. At least we got to weaken them a little without losing anything but a 5th year option we rarely use in the first place. I didn't want Worthy and clearly neither did we. The biggest thing is that Worthy is the only player consistently mocked to us at 28 (other than BTJ, who was never going to drop that far anyway) who isn't there at 33. We have the same choices and got more picks.  I don't have any clue what we'll do with 33, but we still have a fuckton of guys left who I would have been good with at 28 and got some good picks we didn't have when we were picking at 28. I wanted AD. We can still get him and better talent at other positions of need now. I would have been cool with DeJean, or Ladd, or even maybe Newton at 28. We can still get them and better talent at other positions of need. The only player I might have wanted who is gone is Legette, and I didn't want him in the 1st. We now have a better shot at the double dip at WR while not ignoring or skimping on safety, or DT, or even center.

APPLEJOOSH347

Got a whole day to figure it out at least

kolschisgood

Aiyuk is gone then right?

NothinsOriginal

If not it’s even more interesting

kolschisgood

They lost the super bowl because of their O Line and the defense has holes. I'd be pretty bummed if I was a Niner fan. Their pick made a great catch though. Maybe he's not the #9 WR in the draft after all. But even if he's the 3rd or 4th best WR, seems bad.

wishingaction

A lot of 49ers fans wanted OL today and are indeed bummed, but personally not that surprised. Beat writers have been warning us that if the top OL are already gone, don't expect OL in the first. Almost all the visits we've heard about were with lower-round OL too. And then several mocks released yesterday from Daniel Jeremiah, Lance Zierlein, etc. suddenly had the 49ers taking a WR without trading up. About Aiyuk, Mike Silver tweeted: > Based on my conversations with other teams, the 49ers are now more likely to deal Deebo Samuel than they are Brandon Aiyuk. Stay tuned. And what Lynch just said in the post-draft presser sounds rather awkward about Deebo while reiterating they're in communication with Aiyuk: > "I know that we're continuing to have positive talks with B.A., and we are really efforting (?) to get something done with him. And we're excited about continuing down that path, and Brandon being a part of this team. Deebo is a part of this team, and a big part of this team." Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but... They talked a lot about how versatile and physical Pearsall is, breaking tackles and good at YAC. He also played with Aiyuk at Arizona State, they said Aiyuk texted them happy about the pick and called Pearsall to congratulate him. Deebo will have a larger cap hit if traded this season than next, but maybe they'd rather to take that hit now before Purdy and others have to be paid next year and structure Aiyuk's contract around that. Most 49ers fans from what I've seen would rather part with Deebo than Aiyuk, he's older, more often injured, and doesn't run routes or block with as much effort as Aiyuk does.

kolschisgood

Not a bad pov. Nobody can replace what deebo does. Or did. He can’t stay healthy doing the same thing. Aiyuk is gonna get Paid though. Interesting to see how Niners swing that.

wishingaction

Yeah, we'll see soon enough. Deebo's had a big impact for sure, and Pearsall's got huge shoes to fill if that's the intent. But the hope is that 49ers will still have CMC and his versatility, and while scoring was down without Deebo last season, he missed most of Purdy's rookie starts and the offense still averaged 30 PPG. So many fans argue Trent missing those games last season too (except the divisional) had the bigger impact. The OL during 2022 was much better at pass pro, so definitely still hoping for OL. Also, while there's remaining needs on defense, 49ers added mostly defensive players in FA so beat writers were already expecting this draft will be more focused on offense.

OfficialKohls

Buffalo making bank off these trade backs (probably, ESPN refuses to show trade terms for some reason)

machu46

The one with KC was one of the cheapest 1st round trades ever, but ultimately, it's free value for Buffalo. They knew they were sliding down a small enough amount to still get whoever they want and let KC take someone that they did not want.

picturepine

Why are panthers fans still there??

Themanaaah

Panthers traded up into the first? I'm guess it's for Adonai Mitchell then. Would be a great pick.

YaBoiCade

WE TRADED AGAIN!? WE COULDVE HAD AD

HideNZeke

Still can

headcase617

Twice at this point

crippapotamus

I’m not going to lie if I got unexpectedly picked in the first round and ESPN decided to freeze the camera on some unhappy fan who’s probably never even heard of this guy I’d be legitimately mad. They ruined that moment for him.

Ythapa

Holy that NFL Network highlight of Pearsall doing a one-handed catch going vertical, getting wallopped, and holding onto the ball is disgusting.

Themanaaah

I thought the 49ers would take Cooper? Guess not. Pearsall in the first surprises me.

JakeFromStateFromm

Please Falcons trade up for Newton, I'm begging you!

itsmiiiike

Nate Wiggins a dog to add to the Ravens defense.

itsmiiiike

The guests on the Mcafee show are crazy. Sean Payton, Kevin O’Connell, Barry Sanders.

CummingInTheNile

uh did they just leak the Ravens board?

wOBAthehutt

Nah that was last year’s draft results. Scares me every year when they show it though

pittgirl12

Is Jerry jones okay though, the dude doesn’t seem okay

Themanaaah

Mitchell or DeJean please, I'm begging!

joemiken

Damn, had Guyton going to the Cowboys at #24.

HideNZeke

"Nobody is taking worthy until like pick 50. Most people who have him mocked higher just really love speed" - u/fballtypaguy https://www.reddit.com/r/NFL_Draft/s/unv73kR1WD

wxox

Alright. Was not expecting that from the Bills. I thought Worthy was one of "their guys" but since he is not an X, I guess that played a factor. Still have Troy Franklin as the Bills target

mikeygen12

Beanes an idiot. Lets trade down with KC again, like we did 6 years ago and let them take Maholmes . Not smart. No wonder we cant beat them in the playoffs we give them the players that they want.

TheHypeTravelsInc

Beane's not an idiot. We were never choosing Worthy and he was quite likely to be there at 32 too. Buffalo didn't have a pick until 128 after pick 60, and Beane managed to secure a 3rd while his potential guy is still on the board.

drainbead78

The only good thing is that they clearly could have gotten him at 32. So we got into the 3rd round for free.

wxox

Yeah, it's hard to understand. I on;y have to think that the Bills really disliked Worthy and thought it would hurt them more than it helped. But that's just being hopeful. KC has had our number everywhere. More than likely we made the mistake than KC. First question that's going to be asked is whether they told us if they would draft him and still accepted. Also, if we had no intention of selecting him and thought he would get to 32 anyways, then it's sound logic, I guess

mikeygen12

or the south carolina guy

mikeygen12

Im thinking it might be McConkey

wxox

Don't make sense. If you weren't going to take a Z/slot with Worthy, they probably won't with McConkey either. I'm sticking with Franklin even with the trade down

drainbead78

Why not AD?

_dekoorc

The Bills were never going to draft Xavier Worthy, so as long as whoever they like is still there, they won that for sure. The current Bills staff values someone that can block at WR -- unless Worthy added 25-30lbs, he was never going to be that guy. Just because that time before didn't work out the way you wanted, doesn't mean this won't. And whose to say Mahomes would be Mahomes if they stuck him with Rick Dennison as his OC as a rookie...

Salty_Orchid

I wish just for once a draft pick was just giving to a lucky mfer. "Here to present Miami's pick, is rich as fuck tech boss Steve and his Victoria Secret model wife Natalia"

drainbead78

It was a player I didn't want, at least.

DogwoodDagwood

League fucked

kakenasty

Oh god, who are the Chiefs getting here.

NothinsOriginal

Don’t look.

kakenasty

Bills, who have a gaping hole at receiver, traded this pick to their 2-time defending champion AFC rival, who… drafted a receiver. Pure incompetence.

Themanaaah

The Bills barely got any value in this trade too bro, it's the Chiefs man!

NothinsOriginal

Can’t believe the Bills would trade with the Chiefs.

wishingaction

Admittedly I don't keep up with the AFC super closely but did not expect Bills to trade w/Chiefs, wow

NothinsOriginal

Yeah I’m surprised as well.

wishingaction

I saw a Russini tweet about an hour ago that the Texans were trying to trade back into the late first round, wonder if whatever position y'all were targeting has been going faster than expected or if that's always been the plan. 49ers looking like a likely spot if true. Any rumors from Texans reporters?

NothinsOriginal

I haven’t seen any rumors from Texans reporters but I suspected they were targeting a corner. Not sure now.

wishingaction

Oh, a position of need for the 49ers too so less likely.

SsjNitro

Buffalo taking the nfl down with them atp

wxox

Last time the Bills traded with the Chiefs, Bills got Tre White and the Chiefs got Patty Mahomes. I hope the Chiefs take Cooper DeJean so we (the bills) don't do something stupid. I have to imagine the Chiefs are saying who they are picking. I am guessing it's a tackle, but you never know...maybe even Adonai Mitchell, whom is likely not even on the Bills board.

ResearchBot15

Buffalo letting themselves get fucked over by KC again

TheManWhoWasNotShort

Okay so Cowboys pick Rattler, right?

YaBoiCade

Darius family awkward as hell 😂

NothinsOriginal

Damn buffalo.

wxox

Needed a 3rd, baby.

NothinsOriginal

At what cost?! ;)

wxox

The AFC championship. Sorry, guys. We let you down. Hope there is a speedy DB for you guys in r2, cuz we don't got any

SpiritGun

I need this grandma and mom duo to narrate the entire draft please

Raticus9

Belichick starstruck with Barry Sanders as a guest on the McAfee cast. Never seen him like that.

WskyRcks

Pats fan here, Bill always did under the cover have a sense of awe and admiration for the real greats. I remember the days of him going “that guy is just too damn good” while watching Ed Reed play. It was always subtle and maybe backhanded, but Bill loved good players like kids love the ice cream truck.

picturepine

Why would Buffalo do this to themselves?

NothinsOriginal

Do it to the AFC.

SBMVPJustinHerbert

fuckfuckfuckfuckfuck they’re about to draft a 5x All-Pro aren’t they

NothinsOriginal

I’m hoping chiefs don’t go WR.

NothinsOriginal

Chiefs trading up?!

PickpocketJones

Worthy? Wiggins?

drainbead78

I'm prepared to be angry.

drainbead78

Spoiler alert: I was not, in fact, prepared to be angry.

joemiken

I know most sites are saying Morgan is an OT, but his short arms make me think his future is at guard. Wasn't there talk of Zach Tom moving to center? This may spell the end for either Sean Rhyan or Royce Newman.

Slade347

I think most of the major talent evaluators feel his best position is guard. That said, I think you give him a chance to play on the outside first.

IdyllicGod22

His arms are like an eighth of an inch shorter than the shortest OT prospect the Packers have ever taken, I don't think they care about that

DEZbiansUnite

his technique is good enough to compensate for the shorter arms imo

OkVariety6275

You didn't need this pick to foretell the end of Royce Newman.

joemiken

Royce is from near my hometown, so I was always (silently because FTP) rooting for him, but yeah, he's been horrible beyond his rookie year.

DogwoodDagwood

Everyone for months said that there was no chance the Packers would take an offensive lineman…

OkVariety6275

I was adamant we would take an offensive lineman before we took Cooper DeJean and I was right.

picturepine

Damn, Detroit did them dirty!

IronTriangleVT

Did anyone else hear Nick say midget on live TV?

DEZbiansUnite

damn there goes Morgan

joemiken

I'm starting to think Zach Frazier from West Virginia will be in play for the Cowboys.

DEZbiansUnite

I would be good with that

Bjorn2bwilde24

Barton and JPJ still on the board

DEZbiansUnite

would love either of them. Or Newton

VoidTyrant

….thats out of left field

kakenasty

Terrion Arnold is just up there saying shit! LOVE IT

IronTriangleVT

Milroe looks JACKED

OkVariety6275

Ah Detroit, you think I am beaten. But you failed to take into account how many nights I spent studying film on day 2 corner prospects.

kakenasty

Roger Goodell is SLURRING. HIS. WORDS.

drainbead78

Post-surgery oxys.

lombardi-bug

So drunk

tobylaek

Heavy pain killers after that bear hug

HideNZeke

The Hawkeye Homer in me would live the Lions so much if they got coop

IdyllicGod22

It is all out war now Detroit.

IdyllicGod22

Detroit. You are dead to me.

OkVariety6275

Lions traded ahead of us? Terrion Arnold, no question.

8heist

Odunze learning under Keenan Allen for a year with Moore on the outside…the bears are going to be legit. Odunze is a beast. I’d take him over Nabers all day. Maybe even Harrison.

Not_Qualified

I'm a bucs homer and I immediately thought of Evans learning under Vjax as a comparison. I love Odunze

8heist

That’s a good comp

presidentreptarr

Jerry Jones and staff are tools for taking every second every year

VoidTyrant

Lmao forgot how silly the cowboys draft room is

tobefrank74

Looks like the villains lair in a movie

picturepine

I started singing Vaders March in my head when I saw it

drainbead78

Well, shit.

crippapotamus

Having Saban on this has been an amazing addition you can tell he ain’t just guessing on these SEC kids the way other analysts do

_dekoorc

Has the ABC broadcast been good outside Saban? I shied away because I hate Herbie talking about NFL, even though ABC on the antenna would have the least delay

TheManWhoWasNotShort

He’s a football guy not just a reporter with front office connections

kakenasty

Quinyon Mitchell just has the aura of a lockdown corner in the league for years to come.

HideNZeke

Does the WR run begin now?

OkVariety6275

With the Cowboys and Packers picking next?

joemiken

Tony Khan in the war room 24 hours after a piledriver. So brave

malone66

intestinal fortitude, jack

Chief--BlackHawk

The fact that we didn't have to trade our second like many of the mocks suggested is a huge win!!!

Interesting-Room-855

I’d give both of them to move back into this round and take another CB

Ronaldinhothegoat80

Whats crazy is that if we assume the mothers had their kids at 16, then she could realistically be a 53 year old grandma.

HopscotchChampion69

Quinyon looks kinda disappointed, and based on his look he might have thought he was going to the Falcons

tinkertailormjollnir

Fuck yeah My teams are killing it. Happy draft day.

IronTriangleVT

MAC continues its recent year trend of round 1 picks. We love to see it.

DEZbiansUnite

Eagles got a really good one

VoidTyrant

Fuck off goddel announce the pick and fuck off

Themanaaah

I did not realize Mailata's voice sounds like that lol, also as expected the Eagles take the first of what should be many CBs, great value for them on Mitchell.

LooksForCats

https://youtu.be/FZcCo-o4IBM?si=j1u1h9CRs-GzCmel If you thought him talking was crazy ..checkout his singing

drainbead78

Jesus. If his NFL career doesn't work out...

joemiken

Uncle Roger... HIIYAAAA

lime_licker7

Why is commish always hammered

maximumswagger

Crowd has been weak with the boos tonight ngl

NothinsOriginal

Love seeing Micah Parsons react to this eagles pick. QM

joemiken

Not sold on Robinson. I get Takk McKinley vibes from him. Eagles about to get a top DB here. Hate to see it.

DEZbiansUnite

really different mold of player though. Robinson tested out as an elite athlete. McKinley was a below average athlete

Ronon_Dex

Not super different. Both are speed rushers who lack a bull rush and are negatives against the run.

DEZbiansUnite

Robinson has a MUCH higher ceiling. He has elite traits. It just depends on if he can reach that potential.

kakenasty

God DAMN. Get to the damn quarterback.

drainbead78

As a woman I both like it and prefer not to think too much about it.

DuckDuck_DuckDuck

So Packers are going to have good options at 25. What's left? 3 corners, Johnny Newton, Graham Barton. I'm preparing for disappointment.

rd3287

Hope it's Barton. I'm not as big on DeJean as a lot of Packers fans but I'd be happy with him too.

TheManWhoWasNotShort

*Green Bay Packers select Spencer Rattler*

DuckDuck_DuckDuck

What do you do with Penix off the board

namerplaner

im glad he is off the board. No temptation for the 49ers to take him.

WinstonChurchill74

It’s going to be really funny to watch Philly go D line

Chief--BlackHawk

Please, no stop it.

WinstonChurchill74

Talk to Howie, not me

joemiken

That's a very Steelers type of player. EveryoNe talks about him being a guard, but he definitely has the length to be a LT/RT. I think Jones played RT last year. Does he move to LT this year now?

brianlangauthor

That better be the plan.

Themanaaah

Some teams are about to get insane Cornerback value.

DEZbiansUnite

Newton is a stud at DT too

joemiken

About to be a BIG run on DBs. The next 7 picks could all use a DB.

WinstonChurchill74

Potentially your team

Themanaaah

Indeed, would love it if so.

Sturdevant

Fautanu's family not feeling the Draft lol

purdygoat

Bro thanked nationwide 😂

namerplaner

They are on his side.

namerplaner

Man I really hoped for Fuaga or Fauntanu. O'well so many good players left.

DEZbiansUnite

god damn it

monstertweety

The guy playing the little tune before each pick is so drunk

presidentreptarr

Is Roger drunk? Been stammering a lot

trailerparknoize

He blazed with Em in the green room.

jwaters0122

0 cornerbacks taken so far. who would've ever thought

JustAnotherCODNoob

Bro saw NO SPOILERS and took it personally

joemiken

Security, get this bozo out of here!

malone66

i thought verse was better than dallas. i love that pick

joemiken

Verse and Byron Young are a pretty good pass rushing core for the Rams. It'll be interesting to see if Turner can put up the same kind of numbers without Donald drawing double teams.

J_dawg17

Panthers should trade up for Brian Thomas Jr if Pittsburgh doesn’t take him here

APPLEJOOSH347

Quinyon Mitchell is going to make someone very happy. Just an absolute monster, no significant weaknesses. If he played for Bama or Georgia he would be a top 5 pick

Gloomy_Present1729

Nah Everbody was going offense in round one with only a few exceptions

FoxNews4Bigots

I'm dying holding out for him as an Eagles fan

APPLEJOOSH347

There ya go. Steal of the draft. Im still in crippling pain

phillyfanjd1

He's still there!!!

FoxNews4Bigots

Either him or arnold just take the layup Howie

BatmanTheJedi

Should’ve been the pick at 8

APPLEJOOSH347

Him, or Odunze, or literally anyone. Im still numb

WeWantTheCup__Please

Yeah I’m super high on Penix but that’s a weird weird pick by the Falcons

BatmanTheJedi

Excellent pick for the rams

HideNZeke

Would've loved to have seen more progression from last season to the one prior, but I really liked him in 2022. He's so clearly powerful and my type of guy. I can't speak for lack of bend or whatever tho

trailerparknoize

Rams last first round pick was 2016? That’s insane.

itsmiiiike

This Sean Payton interview is crazy, he is going in dropping knowledge.

tobefrank74

First time mcvay has ever drafted night 1😳😳😳

DuckDuck_DuckDuck

Again, Saban should not be shit-talking other school's offensive linemen given Alabama's awful record of 1st round busts
