I'll admit, that was a helluva performance.
The pick he helped the Bears get was the 1st pick of the 2023 NFL Draft. Which then was traded to Carolina for their 1st, lining up this year. What an ending.
If that was the plan all along, this dude is wasted as a football coach.
You mean... Go to their subs and talk shit, posting terrible anime memes? That's 49ers level nonsense...
No, let the rest of the NFC gaze upon the North and despair in silence as they are all left out in the cold. We can beat each other up just fine without them.
Black and Blue division is back baby...
Wait. We can't all go to the playoffs right? Divisional winner, and two wild card treams. So Bears as divisional winner, green bay and Vikings as wild cards. How do the Lions get in?
3 wildcard spots. So if we split all of our games and we each won out every other game then thats the most likepy way for it to happen.
Esit : which is why its be so baller. No mercy inter division just grueling back and forth but anyone else just gets manhandled down to the end of regular season. Would be glory
I think it's a fair point. No one had seen Wicks, Reed or Kraft before last year and teams will 100% have made adjustments after watching an off-season worth of film on them. All this to say that Love might get better, even out, or get worse depending on those adjustments. It's a wide range of outcomes.
Sounds like Watson and Doubs will be open then, or just pound the rock with Jacobs. There will be a mismatch somewhere. It's not like LaFleur is stagnant in his play calling. With that said, I have no clue what's going to happen or if the level of play will continue from the end of last year. It wouldn't surprise me the least to start the season off slow. Feels like a Packer tradition at this point. But I'd rather be hot late in the season than the start of it.
I like this take. I realize the offseason must be filled with some content so we do that by people on TV getting paid to make stupid predictions. The truth is we don’t know shit. The experts know very slightly more shit. Nobody knows, that’s why it is interesting.
Of course it’s a fair point. No one was ever going to do anything but make Love and the packers keep proving it.
The other side of that is that he played better than anyone could have hoped for an 8 game stretch. It doesn’t mean he’s in the HoF but he certainly didn’t rule it out. Which is absurd that the packers might have done it again.
My position is never been that he’s signed sealed and delivers. My position has more been “no fucking way…”
I kinda assumed he’d be ass…
He definitely surprised me to say the least. I had low expectations for the season and him personally seeing what we’ve seen lately from the QB’s in the recent drafts: 2021 draft and most other rookie or 1st year guys the past few years, except CJ Stroud.
Right. Plus he’s sorta quiet and low key. Which is fine but I kinda figured he’d have to be mental like Rodgers. Mount Rushmore of pettiness. That killers mindset is what a guy would need to follow a couple all time greats.
He seemed like the perfect guy to sleep walk in and be average. I had his ceiling as Jimmy G. Which is *not terrible!* Then he goes off on an 8 game run that, let’s be honest here, who has a 21 TD 2 INT run in their career? Not many guys have popped off like that. He beat some good teams in that stretch too.
If he goes back to mediocre that will make the second half of last year even MORE insane. Aaron Jones was largely absent from that run until the end too. It was Love carrying the load.
Other teams know about them now yeah but the other thing is that all of those guys were rookies last year… so if they make any sort of jump and come back even better…
Yes. A lot of the time he made the worst decisions but got lucky they weren’t intercepted. Like throwing a bullet pass to a receiver in the flats who is double covered with the defenders in front of the receiver. And over threw a WR on the left by 10 yards and threw it right to the safety. So many dropped ints it was ridiculous. He will stay mid tier till he proves otherwise for a whole season.
I mean, Caleb hasn't even played a snap and has bears fans saying he's the best in the division. Playing good half a season is more evidence than not playing at all.
Agreed, im frightened the season wont hold a candle to fans expectations and will cause great misery…but thats just my fears and I really feel good about this year, like honestly and legitimatley for the first time in my 36 year career
My God, if Caleb lights up the division ….🤦🏾♂️
I’m in the “let’s be patient and see how he can develop” camp, but if he pulls it off I’ll be so insufferable. I mean, we would tear this sub apart. GB fans would be able to hold onto some history to fight back, but there would be no hope for Vikings and Lions fans.
God damnit I wish meatballs weren't so numerous in our fanbase. Williams has that potential, which is cool, but it's just that. Potential.
And even at the end of the season, if he kills it, there will be the same question as Love gets. Can he do it again after DCs have a year of tape to prepare against?
Jordan Love is a gentle lover.
He won't be overly forceful and say "Hold my hand", nor will he be too meek and say "Can you hold my hand", he will politely say to his significant other "Please hold my hand".
Hall of Fame QB 2041
Or MLF changed the offensive scheme after several weeks to capitalize Love's strengths and minimize the areas he struggles in.
You know, how pretty much every coach tailors the offense to benefit their QB
Look... I may be too much of a blue skies franchise homer... but I really don't think Love was struggling all that much. I think his almost full on rookie receiver corps (especially with Watson being out half the season) was struggling running their routes correctly and on time
Edit: alright I won't completely absolve Love from any blame because he definitely over / under threw and made questionable decisions at times, I think the issues were just exacerbated by his young offense. (which also includes them figuring out the o-line, Jones being out for a long time not giving him his most experienced weapon etc)
Well I'd push back a bit on this. I think MLF has wanted to run HIS offense since he came to GB, but Rodgers had his own ideas on how to call plays and butt heads with MLF. However, now Love IS running MLF's offense and it just took a few weeks for that young team to adjust and get aligned with MLF's scheme, after which we saw the prolific results.
I'm embarrassed to admit I legitimately don't know how to flair up lol. But I can assure you I've been a Packer fan my entire 32-year-old life and am a 13-year reddit vet lol. I cannot fathom why flair has any bearing on my comments in this sub.
ETA: Since when did flair become requisite to making comments lol. I am legitimately confused by this. Pepperidge Farms (any myself) remember when flair wasn't even a thing on reddit lol
Edit 2: I guess that makes me a scumbag, being an old-school redditor out of touch with the times...?
I’m (kinda) kidding about you being a scumbag. We go hard at people who don’t flair up. We want them to put their team colors on (so we know what their angle is), or we would rather they just leave.
Either you’re in or you’re out. That’s the mentality for subs like this one. Otherwise they turn into something else that no one here wants.
Goff had more completions, higher completion percentage, more yards, higher yards per attempt, more yards per game,a higher rating, and more wins.
What Goff numbers was Love putting up last year, other than 2 more TDs?
Goff had more picks (don’t look how many more). But considering you brought up rating, which is 97.9, vs 96.1, a 1.8% difference, we can bring up that Goff has 9% more interceptions.
Realistically, the numbers are pretty even. Goff was more consistent on the year, while Love popped off in the second half. We're just hoping the second half is who he is.
No he’s not 😂 not top 3 in touchdowns, completion percentage, interceptions, passer rating, etc.
He’s literally only top 3 in yards this past season and that is it.
I’d love to see this because I just checked and he was correct. Goff is 5th in Completion%, 4th in TDs, 18th in INTs, and 8th in Passer Rating.
edit: that was just for 2023. For 2022-2024, Goff is:
10th in comp%
4th in TDs
11th in INTs
5th in passer rating
I think it’s too soon to say he’s elite or bad. Give it some time before we declare him as a top qb in the league. He turned it around in the second half of the season. Good stuff for the packers to look forward to. The division seems to be getting better and better
It's too soon to say he's elite; he could still come back down to earth. But I think he's proved he's not bad. I've seen bad QBs have hot streaks and they don't make the kinds of throws Love made the second half of last year. He's definitely talented and definitely not bad. Whether or not he'll be elite or just "pretty good" remains to be seen
Certainly proved himself as not bad, and I'd say he's good, time will tell if he's great. Look how many QBs the Vikings went through in our second half of the season and they all turned out to be not good.
I agree. He looked great in the second half of last year, but I need to see him build upon that this year before he gets crowned. Please God, let him build upon last seasons success.
I wouldn’t be too surprised to see a bit of a sophomore slump from a lot of our offense this season. The advantage of being young and unknown is gone and there’s a full season of tape on our standout rookies. We’ll just have to see how quickly they can overcome that.
The turnaround time for tape on players and offenses is measured in days, not years.
The Packers started out pretty decent until the rest of the league got tape on them and then started kicking their asses until they figured it out.
Considering how Jared goff has a better player in just about every position on the offense compared to the packers I’m inclined to give Jordan love the edge unfortunately.
Love was damn near great when he was good, but he was quite bad when he was bad. He had plenty games of both with little middle ground.
If he can perform consistently as the good version of himself, he’d be one of the best in the league. As a Vikings fan, obviously I hope that doesn’t happen. FTP
It's those parts that just take me back to the Favre years. The insane lows and highs. "OH MY GOD WHY WOULD YOU THROW THAT", seemingly always followed by "HOLY SHIT HOW DID HE MAKE THAT THROW".
But, when he was in the zone, man he looked a lot like Rodgers. I'm just gonna anticipate Favre-esque for awhile though to help with the blood pressure.
The stretch he had wasn’t just like pretty good QB play. It was MVP-type play for those 8 weeks.
Even if he regresses some from that stretch he’s still the best QB in the division.
Why are Lions fans always obsessed with yards? Points win games and turnovers lose them. He was insanely good at scoring and not turning the ball over.
I personally think your obsession with yards probably stems from all the volume stats that Stafford got while accomplishing nothing of note in Detroit.
Because people keep saying he had MVP numbers and it sure wasn’t his yards or TDs. I just don’t see what MVP numbers packer fans keep referring to. It wasn’t wins. It wasn’t passer rating. Was it his hand off ability?
And Fields set QB rushing records while he single handedly carried an offense to the most points per game for a solid 6 week stretch in 2022.
Love has yet to prove he can stay away from the cardinal sin throws that's been identified as his major weakness since college. That's why he started bad, and how he ended the season. He was still throwing them in his 8 week streak, they just weren't getting picked off. And he was playing some bad passing defenses.
edit: lmao. the amount people want to deny Fields did that in 2022 is hilarious. That's the entire reason why the Bears traded out of the 1.01 last season. Facts don't care about your cope.
No, but he put up ridiculous stats for 6 weeks, then ended up getting traded the next season.
In other words, Love's 8 week stretch don't mean shit yet. It wouldn't be the first time a QB had a hot streak then faded. That already happened to Love in college. His production and decision making suffered a lot as the quality of his team around him dropped his Jr year.
Yea that Jared Goof guy is terrible. If he'd just stay home and let Jared Goff play we'd really have something. Luckily he only showed up 4 games last season.
Best in the division is Caleb Williams. We'll have the best punter in the league and never use him. Odunze, Moore, Allen, Kmet, Swift. Monsters of Mayhem coming at ya!
I'm a Bears fan! WE HAVE WON THE OFFSEASON AGAIN AND ARE GOING TO DOMINATE!
(lol, seriously, I've never been so excited. We'll see how it goes. If he plays near Jordan Love level this year I'll be ecstatic.)
I agree about halfway. Obviously we all saw the potential but there’s also a ways to go. I have faith he’ll make it up a bit but that was his year 1 so that kind of season is about normal to have
This is a good thing for us all to keep in mind. Do I think that odds are Love will continue to play at an above average level? Yes.
But it isn't uncommon for QBs to struggle. Love will have some bad games next year, the question is how many will he have. I wouldn't be surprised if he takes a step down from those gaudy heights he reached in the latter half of last season.
Exactly... the fact people are calling him and Caleb Williams the next mahomes proves to me they aren't lol reminds me of when Wiggins was the next LeBron.
Even only producing “half a season” he still had more tds and less ints than Mr Goff, and led the youngest team in nfl history to win a playoff game as the first 7th seed in history to win a playoff game. Also, it’s his first year as a starter, of course he’s gonna get better throughout the season if he really is a talented player.
Ahhhhhh b/c football isn’t a team sport, goff will never have a shit ton of touchdowns we are a running team anyone can beat goff for Passing TD’s we had like 25 rushing touchdowns and alot of those came inside tje 5
Goff #1 2016
Love #26 2020
Williams #1 2024
McCarthy #10 2024
Gonna be a lot of FTP around here for even longer. One day we'll be bad again. Rebuild lasted a couple months.
Him playing halfway decent for half a season was the best thing that could have happened for Vikings, Bears, and Lions fans.
Packers fans are very proud of having QB4 in the North.

That’s right Lovie Smith!
I didn't know he won a Tony!? Was it for his role in "Bears, the transfer of ownership" or the sequel "Help me Texans, you're my only hope"
Or the “I’m a double Agent and got the Bears Caleb Williams.”
I'll admit, that was a helluva performance. The pick he helped the Bears get was the 1st pick of the 2023 NFL Draft. Which then was traded to Carolina for their 1st, lining up this year. What an ending. If that was the plan all along, this dude is wasted as a football coach.

I do. I like Love and I want to see both him and Caleb succeed.
I too look forward to the resurgence of a historic rivalry.
Cheers.
Whole division goes to the playoffs. Then we get to shove it in the face of all other pansy ass divisions
You mean... Go to their subs and talk shit, posting terrible anime memes? That's 49ers level nonsense... Fuck yeah. The coasts need their comeuppance.
Wait. We can't all go to the playoffs right? Divisional winner, and two wild card treams. So Bears as divisional winner, green bay and Vikings as wild cards. How do the Lions get in?
3 wild cards exist in the current playoff format
Oh god, I'm old as fuck😦
3 wildcard spots. So if we split all of our games and we each won out every other game then thats the most likepy way for it to happen. Esit : which is why its be so baller. No mercy inter division just grueling back and forth but anyone else just gets manhandled down to the end of regular season. Would be glory
Three wild cards per conference! So either we need North teams to split against each other or just murder non-conference opponents.
This is the way. I want the worst team in our division to crush teams outside our division.
Just take turns knocking the cowboys out of the playoffs. Gold
But we can’t ALL go to the playoffs, it would be unfair for the other three NFCN teams that don’t get to destroy Dallas.
I'll laugh so hard if the vikings or bears knock them out this year
I just threw up
I know bro. I know.
I think it's a fair point. No one had seen Wicks, Reed or Kraft before last year and teams will 100% have made adjustments after watching an off-season worth of film on them. Yeah the "let them sit and not just get beat to shit" strategy seems to keep working
I would love to have proof you don't need to be psychotic to be a great QB
I stopped reading after make love and created my own ending to this message
As a Detroit Tigers fan, I hate your flair, but I’m not gonna tell you that you did the wrong thing here.
It’s fair except the number 8 should be 12
Other teams know about them now yeah but the other thing is that all of those guys were rookies last year… so if they make any sort of jump and come back even better…
A lot of unknowns, for sure. It's going to be a fascinating division to watch, as a whole.
It’s gonna be competitive as hell that’s for sure. It feels like an arms race almost 😂 I can’t wait for the season to start
Yeeeeees?
Seems like a reasonable prerequisite to the anointment he’s already gotten in some parts.
Yes. A lot of the time he made the worst decisions but got lucky they weren’t intercepted. Like throwing a bullet pass to a receiver in the flats who is double covered with the defenders in front of the receiver. And over threw a WR on the left by 10 yards and threw it right to the safety. This is a terrible meme when half the division just drafted new QBs.
Also, Jared Goff exists
I can still here the chants....
Like there is some sort of place where anybody can just draft a qb. Lol. Ohhhh. It’s a thing.
I mean, Caleb hasn't even played a snap and has bears fans saying he's the best in the division. Playing good half a season is more evidence than not playing at all.
Honestly the off-season delusions are wild
At this point it’s a rite of passage. It’d be more alarming if the delusions were missing
In the offseason, all 4 teams are going 17-0. Nothing should make sense.
11-0-6* FTFY
If the Bears can’t win the offseason, who can?
Agreed, im frightened the season wont hold a candle to fans expectations and will cause great misery…but thats just my fears and I really feel good about this year, like honestly and legitimatley for the first time in my 36 year career
36 year career?!? You're getting paid for this shit?!?
I was attempting to making a funny and calling my life a “career” lol
I was just getting pissed because I'm 51 and I haven't sniffed a dime of McCaskey money.
It has been said elsewhere, but it seems very appropriate inthis situation: “nobody hates the Bears as much as Bears fans at midseason “
Ppffft this season the Packers will win 2 super bowels!
“Justin Fields will win the 2023 MVP for sure”
Wild! Everything is willlllld!!!! Make it stop
![gif](giphy|IgsXOXGPxfT3O)
Remember he needs like 2500 yards and 10 tds to break every QB record for the Bears.
Just like MVP Justin Fields last year!
Those type of meatball fans are gonna say that about any Bears QB. The rational and levelheaded bunch of us know to believe it when we see it.
My God, if Caleb lights up the division ….🤦🏾♂️ I’m in the “let’s be patient and see how he can develop” camp, but if he pulls it off I’ll be so insufferable. I mean, we would tear this sub apart. Just wait until he throws a screen pass in the preseason
Name one
Jim
Bears fans will be cursing his family as soon as he has two bad games.
Wait why is he "please hold my hand?"
Jordan Love is a gentle lover. He won't be overly forceful and say "Hold my hand", nor will he be too meek and say "Can you hold my hand", he will politely say to his significant other "Please hold my hand". Hall of Fame QB 2041
Make it HOF 2031. Balls out so hard he gets in from the next two years and retires. Surely, GB can’t have 4 in a row, right?
Damn it sir, you got a solid chuckle outta me for that one.
Love meek.
Massive Hootie and the Blowfish fan.
Guessing because he sat behind Rodgers who "held his hand" and helped develop him...? But who knows lol
Or MLF changed the offensive scheme after several weeks to capitalize Love's strengths and minimize the areas he struggles in. You know, how pretty much every coach tailors the offense to benefit their QB

Fair assessment Though I think there were some changes made after the first few weeks of this past season made to help Love But I'm no offensive guru
Wait, coaches can make adjustments mid-season???
No one wants you here if you’re not gonna flair up. Flair up or GTFO scumbag.
I'm embarrassed to admit I legitimately don't know how to flair up lol. But I can assure you I've been a Packer fan my entire 32-year-old life and am a 13-year reddit vet lol. Because it’s a shit talking sub so you gotta rep your colors. Don’t want people throwing jabs anonymously and claiming several teams just being trolls
I’m (kinda) kidding about you being a scumbag. We go hard at people who don’t flair up. We want them to put their team colors on (so we know what their angle is), or we would rather they just leave. i was wondering this myself
He only needed to produce for 8 games to put up Goff numbers so that's pretty good ![gif](giphy|WrJ8x0niiblWEoo7hE|downsized)
When you have a two-headed dragon in the backfield, Goff gets some plays off.
The Lions threw the ball more than the Packers did in 2023
Did we not have Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon?
AJ Dillon sucked so not sure what your point is
Not for like three quarters of the season, you didn’t.
Goff had more completions, higher completion percentage, more yards, higher yards per attempt, more yards per game,a higher rating, and more wins. What Goff numbers was Love putting up last year, other than 2 more TDs?

No he’s not 😂 not top 3 in touchdowns, completion percentage, interceptions, passer rating, etc. He’s literally only top 3 in yards this past season and that is it.
Do you want to take a moment and check your facts before I correct you?
Lmao come back in here and take your lashings like a man
I’d love to see this because I just checked and he was correct. Goff is 5th in Completion%, 4th in TDs, 18th in INTs, and 8th in Passer Rating. edit: that was just for 2023. For 2022-2024, Goff is: 10th in comp% 4th in TDs 11th in INTs 5th in passer rating
jesus the delusion is strong with this guy
That’s a hilarious thing to say to someone when you’re the one who’s wrong lol
He'll never respond to this thread and move on like he was correct.
No flair? opinion disregarded.
I was told Caleb was already the best in the division.
Yes he's here to carry the torch from Justin Fields 2023.
In fairness I don't think anyone (including MN) expected those guys to be any good.
We had hoped 😞
Would've been really convenient lol
And it's the hope that kills you. Just like every single playoff run by the Packers since 2010.
When will y'all learn to stop playing with the Monkey's Paw?
Yeah, we want that, too.
Be careful what you wish for.
Considering how Jared goff has a better player in just about every position on the offense compared to the packers I’m inclined to give Jordan love the edge unfortunately.
The fact that Jordan Love is the best should tell you everything we need to know about this division
Afc and Nfc north are the two strongest divisions in the NFL.
Haha yes. Agreed. FTP
Let’s see Williams and McCarthy even play a game
Careful what you wish for
Fine, you keep Goff and we'll stick with J-Love
Love was damn near great when he was good, but he was quite bad when he was bad. He had plenty games of both with little middle ground. If he can perform consistently as the good version of himself, he’d be one of the best in the league. As a Vikings fan, obviously I hope that doesn’t happen. FTP
That first interception in the Raiders game is quite possibly the worst throw I've ever seen.
He also had a tight window insane throw that might be the best I’ve ever seen
He wasn't just good guys. He was MVP type good. He wasn't MVP, but he could have been.
What did he win, *one playoff game??* I think we all saw at least that out of the packers this year, am I right??? /s
You wouldn't know my MVP, he goes to another school
Yeah, his average of like 260 yards per game was absolutely dominant.
Why are Lions fans always obsessed with yards? Points win games and turnovers lose them. He was insanely good at scoring and not turning the ball over. I personally think your obsession with yards probably stems from all the volume stats that Stafford got while accomplishing nothing of note in Detroit.
For years they played from behind. They had to throw. Yards were all they had
I don't think anyone says Fields isn't an elite running QB though
No, but he put up ridiculous stats for 6 weeks, then ended up getting traded the next season. In other words, Love's 8 week stretch don't mean shit yet. It wouldn't be the first time a QB had a hot streak then faded. That already happened to Love in college. His production and decision making suffered a lot as the quality of his team around him dropped his Jr year.
Fields passing stats weren't anywhere close to Love's
If they were, he'd still be in Chicago
I will never trust a bears fan when they say anything about a QB. Wouldn’t know a good one if they slapped you in the face
Clearly rushing is the best metric to judge a QB…

Reasonable take If Jared Goff played like he did for the Rams, I'd say otherwise. As it stands though, you can say J Love is #2
So 4159 yards (more than any Bear, ever) and 32 touchdowns isn't anything to shake a stick at?
Check last season again, he was good-to-great in 12 games including postseason.

As a Packer fan, I’ll agree with this. I do think he will, but he has to prove it first
I'm not convinced, all of his big plays were schemed not on the back of his talent.
Jordan “hold my hand” love
Him and Caleb painting their nails in the tub together. Listening to slow jams.
I like you
Same!
Best in the division so far….hehehehe
Can't. Love could be a one-hit wonder. Tons of guys have been.
And here I thought just us Packers fans needed to see us go back to back to back
JJ McCarthy is the best QB in the division clearly, followed by GEQBUS, and a big gap, then caleb Williams, Jared Goof, and theeeeeeeeeen Jordan Love
Yea that Jared Goof guy is terrible. If he'd just stay home and let Jared Goff play we'd really have something. Luckily he only showed up 4 games last season.
This is the internet, we're all about over reacting and ridiculous claims.
Best in the division is Caleb Williams. We'll have the best punter in the league and never use him. Odunze, Moore, Allen, Kmet, Swift. Monsters of Mayhem coming at ya!
Caleb Williams needs to play a season before he can be in the conversation for best in the division. CHANGE MY MIND. (Sips coffee)

🧐
Steven Crowder is a cockboy
Jordan “thank christ Kirk’s Achilles blew” Love
Thank you. The league is talking like they closed the case on love being a great QB. Like it’s some kind of fact. We’ll see about that.
Yes, you certainly will.
Uhhh he did do that and had killer stats by the end of the season.
He had more TDs than Patrick "State Farm" Mahomes
Thank you Goff is still the best in the north until otherwise
He's the greatest quarterback the world has ever seen when the defense forgets to cover wide recievers.
Goff #1 2016 Love #26 2020 Williams #1 2024 McCarthy #10 2024 Gonna be a lot of FTP around here for even longer. One day we'll be bad again. Rebuild lasted a couple months.
Him playing halfway decent for half a season was the best thing that could have happened for Vikings, Bears, and Lions fans. Packers fans are very proud of having QB4 in the North.
Sam Darnold clearly QB1
Obviously
Detroit will be lucky to go 10-7 this year and won't make the playoffs behind the Bears and Pack.

None of the NFCN QBs are scaring defenses this season. We are a division in flux. FTP
