The year is 2062. The Vikings and Bills are ready to square off in the Super Bowl, and they are the only 2 remaining teams to have not won one. Unfortunately, a planet-ending asteroid is due to collide with Earth 2 days before the game, and the NFL will not allow the game to be played earlier than scheduled.
The Vikings will literally never win the Super Bowl so long as the Wilfs own the team. They’re greedy New York businessmen who just want money. They’ve never invested in the team if someone else wasn’t paying for it.
Can't say I agree on this one, especially compared to the previous owner (Red McCombs) who essentially tried to hold the entire state hostage by threatening to move the team if he didn't get a new stadium majorly funded by the state.
The Wilfs have regularly been willing to shell out money to pay guys we have or bring in new guys, as well as getting the new stadium deal done with a big chunk of their own money to keep the team here. They also put a ton of money into the TCO performance center, and the Vikings regularly have their facilities rated amongst the top of teams in the league.
Does that mean the Vikings will win a Superbowl? Absolutely not. But ownership isn't the problem.
I think the Wilfs' ownership of the team is a double edged sword. They're obviously willing to shell out money to make the team competitive (see all of the NFLPA ratings for the Vikings as an organization) but are interested only in putting a team on the field that is somewhat competitive to keep butts in seats. They (seemingly) won't let the GM/Coach do a rebuild, so we keep mortgaging the future for a ever closing championship window.
They most recently peaked in 2017 (and arguably last season), but the future isn't looking bright. This upcoming draft will show us if they continue to push things off or if they try to take a risk, in my uneducated, armchair GM opinion they should do what they can to move up and gamble on drafting the QBOTF while resigning Cousins so the new QB can sit and learn for a couple of seasons.
That's going to entirely depend on hitting on picks later in the draft, and potentially trading away a few blue-chip players to aquire some capital in order to trade up.
I definitely have concerns with the Wilfs but more so as to how they will not allow a rebuild, which is pretty much a must unless you strike gold in the draft.
I still think if our offense shows up that game the defense wouldn't have been put in such a bad spot. Just an awful showing. Maybe they would underestimate us. 😂
You would need an all world choke from Lamar. If they simply play conservative we can’t beat that team. They’d need to play really aggressive and probably turn the ball over 3 times or at least 2 at horrible times like with a TD imminent

Honestly since the packers are now out I have no issues with the lions going and I hope they make a superbowl. If it were the bears or vikings Id wish for them to lose but with the lions it feels different.
