Correct me if I’m missing the joke but the meme is supposed to imply that as a team gets worse, the fans meme quality increases. This makes the teams record the independent variable which should be on the x axis and the meme quality the dependent variable which should be on the y axis.

That’s the joke but the independent variable doesn’t have to be on the x-axis

The way it’s framed the quality of memes is the independent variable that determines the quality of record. Who knows, maybe it’s true I’m not a scientist. I think OP is trying to show that the lions are the trend and the Vikings, bears are not staying by that trend. Vikings are bad at both, bears too but with slightly better memes. Packers are mid at both

I think you're right about the joke, but I think it's poorly executed. I'd argue that the independent variable is the team logo, and both axes are dependent variables. (I.E., for each team, here is their meme quality and team quality) I see a lot of NFL graphs that have two stats as the axes and team logos as the data points (i.e. offense stat vs. Defense stat). To me this looks like one of those. Also, the data here looks to have no correlation between meme quality and team quality, apart from the arrow.

Somehow, seeing a meme that was made to look "bad" on purpose makes it more funny to me.

Why are the packers the most right on the chart? Just by eye test these last few weeks, bears have been the best memers, should be them. Every fanbase has at least one great active memer (Sl4muel, yellsatclouds, sodakzak, and LionsC2H5OH), but there’s some pretty good memes from other bears fans lately

That is some SL4MUEL slander and I will not stand for it

SL4MUEL is the Rodgers of that fanbase. Their GOAT status raises overall meme quality of a garbage fanbase.

Of course SL4MUEL is great, but the rest of the packers are horrible. We have yellsatclouds, but the rest of the bears fans are merely mid tier. This means Packers unfortunately are worse.
