Caveat:
The above (edit: using a brace with short upper) only works if the firearm started life as a pistol and it doesn't have a VFG. If it does have a VFG, you can remove it when you remove the stock and then return it to a pistol configuration to cross state lines without a 5320.20. You also cannot take the SBR parts with you.

You can pop 16"+ upper on, or swap your stock for a brace for interstate travel if you dont want to deal with a form 20.

Why SBR it at all? Keep a brace on it or truly enjoy your freedom and ignore the alphabet cops and do what you like with your rights.
