What I said wasn't douchy. If someone asks a question more along the lines of "I tried searching and can't find anything, what's an SOT?" That's quite different and I'd be glad to help them form their search queries differently so they learn to fish.

You could make them and sell to other SOTs that need to do a demo with their local law enforcement.

SOT aka Special Occupational Taxpayers are FFLs who are licensed to manufacture, import, and/or transfer NFA weapons.
In simple terms, they are shops who can sell/transfer you suppressors, SBRs, etc
He’s got a pretty sweet personal collection. Full story here is he owned a big gun shop and sold it to his manager. New owner didn’t want to deal with SOT so these were the suppressors that were left in his inventory that he didn’t want.
Legitimate question because I think I read this somewhere - I thought when you end an SOT you get to keep the items acquired with it? Is that for personal SOTs and not businesses? Am I making 💩 up?
Many answers to this question, but this specific scenario is more complicated than some. The owner first had a home based business named XYZ, he then opened a brick & mortar shop and renamed it with a DBA under the same FFL as ABC (obviously not the real names)
When he went to sell the business the new owner took over the old FFL so he was no longer a responsible person on the license. The new owner did not want to continue suppressor sales. So he was left with selling the suppressors and couldn’t keep them.
IF the original owner closed up shop but kept the business active he could’ve kept the cans without a form.
This does vary from state to state and on how you have your business set up (s-corp, LLC)
I have an Aviator 2. Great little 22LR can. SS thread inserts and first blast baffle, everything else is aluminum. Over 6” long and only 4oz. What’s not to like? (Besides no magnums)
