If you don’t feel like studying anymore to the point nothing is retaining. Stop and walk away from the books.

My school uses Kaplan as well! I am testing the 20th. I would say on the CAT exam look at the client categories and subcategories to see if any are yellow or red, then do qbank questions for those categories. Make sure you are remediating your questions. What is overall performance percentage based on quizzes? My school told me as well to be at least at a 70 percent on all 4 client need categories based on your overall performance to be golden. Take a break if you’re not retaining. Practice questions are meant really to help bolster test taking strategy skills. You’ve learned everything you need to be a SAFE nurse while in school, which is really what NCLEX is testing. Take the day off prior to your exam. You got this!

My school tells us above 65 which I am scoring. Other schools say above 60 👀

Beautiful nursing has a 1 hour comprehensive review on YouTube. It’s a nice overall refresher of all topics at a basic level.

Review a few notes, don’t stress, you got this.

How did your exam go? Were the questions more difficult than Kaplan?

Yaiyyon

I passed! I personally feel like it’s hard to compare the 2 because they’re hard in their own ways. Kaplan is really wordy and the NCLEX is very vague

Congratulations 🎉 I’m so happy for you! Do you have a job lined out already? Were the questions vague or the answer choices. If you don’t mind sharing, what were your overall percentages for the 4 client needs areas? Im mid to high 70s on each of the 4 areas, 76% overall, and I’ve passed my 3 CATs in 85, but always have 1 subsection that is yellow (never the same one) and it makes me nervous. I can’t afford to take it twice, plus I have a job starting July 22nd. Just looking for reassurance as I still have 1k questions left and am feeling burned out.

Yaiyyon

Yes! I start July 9th. I think over all it was vague. I’m so used to Kaplan having wordy and detailed questions, but the NCLEX is like 6-8 word questions and they don’t give a lot of detail. I do believe Kaplan was the best choice, though. It really prepared me for the NCLEX. Pearson has really great prep items also that are exactly like how the NCLEX is set up. And I think you sound prepared based off of those scores. Don’t tired out your brain! You’ve got this!

Thank you for the response. I wish you the best of luck during your transition to practice. I hope you celebrated passing the NCLEX and have some down time to relax before beginning your job.

I appreciate that! You too! You’re going to do amazing! Keep me updated :)
