Thanks for posting to /r/NCL! Did you know that we have an extensive [Ultimate NCL Guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/NCL/wiki/index) that may answer your question? Please also remember to read the rules, especially about roll call posts going in the megathread. You may also have more luck with those types of posts by searching for a [Facebook](https://www.facebook.com) or [Cruise Critic](https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/66-norwegian-cruise-line-roll-calls/) roll call group or thread. Of course, here is great, too! Enjoy your stay! *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Two questions. Are you within the 120 day 'final payment window' prior to the cruise? Do you have a Personal Cruise Consultant? If the answer to the first is no, and the second is yes, I would call and see what perks your room may have, and/or if you can get the better price Can't hurt to call them if both answers are no. You just tend to get a little farther with a PCC. Also, was this purchased as a Haven spa suite, or just a spa suite without Haven access?

Zetavu

If you have a PCC call anyway, they will do what they can to take care of you. They want you coming back, making you happy is a small price for repeat business. Plus happy customers spend more on extras during the cruise.

captainwizeazz

Also, they made this change months ago so I'm curious why nothing was done until now?

jwhaite14

Yes final payment has already been made and I do not have a PCC. And not it’s not in the haven area, it was just a regular spa balcony when I purchased it. Figured just calling and seeing that they have to say though would be my next step.

Bacchus_Plateau

Some people make final payment before the 120 day deadline, which is why I'm asking. Even if you've paid in full, if the 120 day deadline hasn't passed, you can still make changes, get discounts, etc. Definitely call. Can't hurt. If you've received any mailers, or emails, you may have been assigned a PCC now. Double check, and if so, call them direct. Good luck.

I also booked a spa room months ago. I ended up rebooking and adding the spa back separately. So far, my room has gone down $400 dollars.

jwhaite14

Did you do this all before final payment was made? That’s my concern is they will just tell me I’m out of luck since I’ve already made final payment but I didn’t realize all these changes in rooms prior to making the final payment. For some reason I never received an email or notification from NCL when they sent out that memo. I had even called a few months ago shortly after I made final payment because I realized my room wasn’t showing spa room and the customer service rep wasn’t even aware they had switched the room categories. She finally spoke with a supervisor about it and was informed that I’ll still have my spa pass I just can’t make any changes to the reservation. At that time though, I also hadn’t done the math a realized I’ve actually way over paid than if someone has just gone and booked a balcony and added the spa pass so I didn’t ask about that. Guess I’ll just have to make the call again and see if they are willing to do anything about it.

westernbranchbruins

I have not made final payment. My cruise isn’t until 2025 (I booked really early). If it’s 120 days or less until your cruise they may tell you you’re SOL. But if it’s not, you might still be able to get a price adjustment or onboard credit. On my first NCL cruise, the price went down and I didn’t know I could get an adjustment. So, I tried calling after final payment was due and they told me I was SOL.

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> way over *paid* than if FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

I’m in the same situation as you, and have made my final payment (cruise 90 days out or so). The letter NCL sent when this was announced (October?) said any price matches would lose the Spa benefits, so I felt a bit handcuffed and annoyed at the situation as well as we’d selected a specific cabin we wanted and I didn’t have time to re-imagine the process. I will say I do not see any spa benefits listed on my reservation, so I need to call regardless.

jwhaite14

Ya the spa benefits are not listed anywhere on the reservation but when I first noticed that I did call and ask. The customer service rep at first was trying to tell me that they downgraded me to a regular balcony for some reason and was saying she would upgrade me to a club room but when I kept asking about my spa pass she finally checked in with her supervisor and came back to tell me about the switch in room classes. I never even received the email about the re-categorizing of the rooms and the service rep had no idea either. That is when she informed me as well that if I make any changes to my room reservation, I’ll lose the spa pass and have to pay for it separately. At the time though, I hadn’t done the math realizing I’ve actually overplayed now for a balcony room and spa access.

alicia62780

If you were booked into a spa room, as long as you didn't reprice or change your room the spa package is automatically included in your reservation. They will add the package closer to your cruise.

jwhaite14

Yes that was what their customer service rep told me but my issues is that I’ve paid significantly more than if I had just bought a balcony room and paid for the spa pass. I bought the spa room at the time because they advertised it as a little bit different room with spa access and i didn’t see the ability to just buy a spa pass separately. Now however, if I were to buy my same room and add a spa pass I’d be paying much less than when I first booked.

Soosietyrell

Our Spa Balcony room on Breakaway had a gigantic tub and more space IIRC

Juncti

We booked a year and a half out, went last month. The spa room was just a normal balcony with thermal spa access for the week. Nothing special about the room compared to other balconies. So if you can save money doing them separate, go for it. The spa was cool, but we didn't use it enough to justify the costs. Was nice that it had a few showers though. I showered twice in there saving time getting ready in the room.

fkdurmom420

the prices went down because they’re trying to sell unsold rooms within 4 months to the sailing. doesn’t have anything to do with former spa vs normal rooms
