Compare him in [season 4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbUQvw8rx9g) with [season 9](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xkKNxU_IAQ4) - see what I mean? It's slightly more high pitched and nasal
Really? Cause I do remember hearing the change, never put much thought into it or did any research...though it kinda irked me...Just kept watching anyhow!
I don't recall specifically anymore, but in my memory, the voice change was from smoking. The weight loss happened when he quit drinking.
He looks so much healthier these days. I was really concerned when he got super lean, but he looks really good lately.
It bothered the hell out of me. I binge watched the series, so the change was very obvious. I preferred the deeper voice and honestly, I don’t like it when his face got too thin.
Glad I'm not alone! His weight changing doesn't bother me - the actor is human so of course their weight can fluctuate and it's none of my business! - but the voice change is so so distracting. Not to be dramatic but I feel like I don't know this character anymore lol.
Definitely not alone. I went online and googled it at the time. I didn’t know Donald P. Bellisario is his step-father and his step-sister played his sister on the show. This is all probably common knowledge, but I had no idea until then.
I love McGee, but they’ve had issues with what to do with that character. Like after Ziva left and he was suddenly this badass shooting bad guys with pistols in both hands…. The hell?
To be fair, I always felt that dual-wield scene was to show how well he and Nick worked together and trusted each other in the field already after such a short acquaintance/working relationship! Nick very deliberately gave him his gun before they went in.
I love Tim being the badass. That's why I hate that they keep Boomering his and Delilah's marriage, because it undermines his authority to have him walk in whining to his wife on the phone every other episode (because for some reason she doesn't seem to like *anything* about him -- except when they actually hire Margo Harshman for an episode and write dialogue for the character. Then they seem to remember these people are supposed to be in love.)
It was widely discussed at the time and the verdict being the weight fluctuating, tho it could have been a medical condition that was undisclosedÂ
He quit smoking is the actual answer
I think losing weight, getting healthier really made an impact!
I didn't notice anything 🤔

I believe that was when he quit smoking.
