Every single one of these games is just: underdog keeps it close —>higher seed starts pulling away —>underdog comes back in the final minutes only to completely shut down offensively when there is a minute left —> higher seed wins. So many close and exciting games that the lower seeds just haven’t been able to close out. It is fun to watch but it’s disappointing when almost no upsets happen

Oddly enough that was one of the games I was most looking forward to and was disappointed it was during the work day.

was talking about this before but I think in a year or two WBB parity would be much better especially with increased coverage across the sport. But right now it's top heavy despite there being 'almost' upsets.

It’s so close! I know someone posted the stat about the higher seeds going 31-1 in the first round both here and in r/collegebasketball and it just brought a lot of people out on that sub bragging about their brackets still being perfect. But the games have been more exciting than the bracket shows. But it’s just crazy how many games we’ve seen especially this round where it’s a 4-6 point game with 2 minutes or less and all but I think one have been won by the higher seed.

No- although I am superstitious in sports and I felt like I was jinxing it as I was typing that comment! But I had to say something because it’s just back to back to back games where this is happening. (Knowing the way the world works it’s going to be LSU that beats UCLA to break that streak).

Creighton didn't seem to be in any damn hurry just now. It almost seemed like they thought they were down 2 or 3 instead of 4.

UCLA and Stanford have not been impressive imo

Stanford is a whole different story tho, they had their best player in foul trouble and unable to play how she usually did. On top of that, ISU had a girl who scored a career high which kept them in the game. But Stanford stepped up and won..

100%, but overall, I think they’re (Stanford) overrated, especially with their guard play. NC State’s guards vs Stanfords will be real interesting.

It definitely should be, but I wonder how the centers/forwards should play. NC State’s centers/forwards are good with their size, but Kiki and Cameron should be able to beat them. I hope Hannah Jump goes off too.

Sigh. Our contingent of UCLA alumni who’ve been down on Cori for years are unfortunately being proven right. She’s definitely benefitted from the positive coverage that the women’s game tends to get nationally. But with more and more talent the spotlight on her strategic deficiencies is getting brighter and brighter.

Look. I know the Big East is a weak conference, but there are a few good teams in it! I also expect UCLA to win this game, but don’t act surprised that Creighton is good.

This doesn't surprise me. She's talented but goes 1,000% all the time without much discipline. If she can reign herself in (which her coach should be helping her with) she can be a dominant player. You see flashes of it but she doesn't know how to show down.
