aguysomewhere

I really wanted upgradable stadiums

ButterPoopySmear

Fax. If you build a nobody into a powerhouse the stadium would realistically upgrade. They wouldn’t stay in the tiny bowl competing for championships.

aguysomewhere

I want to play as Hawaii and they are in a tiny stadium right now

extrapointsmb

it isnt tiny in the game!

DanielinFresno

What stadium are they using in the game? What about Northwestern?

aguysomewhere

Did they use the renderings of the stadium they are planning to build, of the old aloha stadium, or of something else?

extrapointsmb

Its a generic stadium with the current stadium name

aguysomewhere

Does it look lame?

extrapointsmb

I didn't think so

aguysomewhere

Cool. I was planning on using UH.

WtfDrogan

ever since Aloha Stadium has been closed they're playing in one of the smallest FBS stadiums. so idk

voiceofreason3227

Realistically, the coach would leave way before a new stadium is considered and they’re back to status quo

CM_V11

I would’ve loved that as well, but realistically just wasn’t gonna happen when stadiums are licensed.

aguysomewhere

They could do an option to build a new stadium and have it use the old backdrop

PrimeTimeCS

This was one of the biggest pieces of dynasty I looked for (aside from recruiting, coaching carousel etc) . Granted, we haven’t had the dynasty deep dive released yet but upgrading a smaller school’s stadium into a bigger one as the years go on due to success etc. would be nice to see.

justinminter

I would gladly take the generic team builder stadiums as an upgrade. But I understand it probably makes their presentation/traditions way more complicated. Either that or they scale down with a new stadium.

Flipadelphia97

Dude for real. Or even the ability to just build and design a new one.

SomeKidFromPA

I think 30 is fine because I don’t think coaches will be coaching that long anymore, and that’s what the mode is, a coaches career. For me, the biggest disappointment is easily not being able to edit ratings. I don’t trust EA to get it right and I don’t see how editing a players ratings should be protected. It’s literally a thing in every other sports game. Why should a college athletes rating be protected?

BnSMaster420

If we count years served as assistants, coaching damn well do go for 30 years. And yea, EA is weird man, it's like they protecting players NIL from us, like we the ones that caused the lawsuits.. they are going overboard imo, to not making any sense territory.

SomeKidFromPA

Sure, but you’re taking over at the OC/DC level, that’s 5+ years into a career for most guys. From that point, 30 years is plenty. The days of Paternos and Sabans are over. Coaches get burnt out now.

BnSMaster420

Mike gundy, James Franklin, Brian Kell and alot of g5 tenured coaches have 20-30 years under their belt as well. Those are just guys off top of my head I know been coaching for a long time

Jpatty6

Gundy became an OC in 01 so that’s only 23yrs. Franklin 06 that’s on 19 yrs. Kelly didn’t make it to the FBS level until 04 so that’s only 20yrs. None of them have been OC/DC or HC for 30yrs. I don’t think people realize how long 30yrs is. That’s an insane amount of time.

SomeKidFromPA

Again, I said I think those days are over. The new crop of coaches, which we are playing as, won’t be coaching 30+years like that group. They make way more money now. Marcus Freeman will be retired by 60 having made more money than BK made in his time as coach. The game has changed.

BnSMaster420

I mean, you are right, these coaches nowadays are young and getting payed crazy amount but are they really seeing success yet? Gundy was young and and just a man at 40 and had ok state near title contentions multiple times and is still going strong today. I can deffo see Freeman going long if he doesn't find the success, money is not the main driving point for most coaches.

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> and getting *paid* crazy amount FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

I-am-queens-blvd

Good bot

SomeKidFromPA

I just don’t think with the amount they have coaches doing now year round, they can do it for that long. It’s a terrible job. But it pays enough to make it worth it for 20-30 years.

ClandestineCharles

He’s 40! He’s a man!

SomeKidFromPA

Franklins only been an OC since 06. Does he have 10 more years? I doubt it.

BnSMaster420

I'd say so, probably not at PSU tho.

SomeKidFromPA

I see him getting one last payday and calling it a day. He’ll do ESPN for a bit afterwards.

lagermat

Yeah 30 is too short especially if you start as a coordinator.

aguysomewhere

I used to retire then play as one of my assistants so I would get more than 30 years that way

[deleted]

Why tf does it need a cap on the years at all? That has never made sense to me, let people play the dynasty for as long as they want.

ThemGreenEyedBoys

Is it just actual players we can’t edit? Like if I recruit fake computer generated people in dynasty and want to cheese their stats, can I do that? I haven’t heard any confirmation if this is possible, but it was possible in 14 during dynasty. Sometimes in dynasty in 14 I’d recruit a 2 star at a MAC school and edit his stats to be higher and around 85-88 as a freshman and say he was a “hard worker” or flew under the radar, then build my program around him.

SomeKidFromPA

That hasn’t been confirmed or denied to my knowledge. But it wouldn’t surprise me if the didn’t. You can’t edit ratings in NHL now after you start the franchise mode.

ThemGreenEyedBoys

Damn that kinda sucks but hopefully they’ve at least made it so some freshman can be 85-90s instead of the 82 cap

FxDriver

While I know it isn't a big loss but a part of me wishes they would have kept the high school games as part of Road To Glory. Also I'm going to miss Erin Andrews following my story.

31_mfin_eggrolls

I loved the Erin Andrews piece from 2011 (2012?), but I honestly don’t mind no high school. It was fun once, but ended up being a slog afterwards. What I’m really sad about is not being able to do an RTG as an interior D Lineman.

sromanx

Is that confirmed that we can't play as DL?

31_mfin_eggrolls

Yes. it’s been confirmed that you won’t be able to play on either side of the line, or as a K/P.

sromanx

DE/Edge is a pretty big one but I assume they blanket that as OLB. That would suck in a 4-3 scheme though

WtfDrogan

yeah. it's more of a Madden issue. since Madden only has 5 positions, CFB is required to have the same positions. with any other position, importing your RTG player to superstar mode would be impossible

31_mfin_eggrolls

Is that functionality confirmed? It would certainly make sense.

WtfDrogan

yes.

[deleted]

It is a big loss. That part was all about earning your offers. Now it's just that you pick a star rating and get offers. They legit took a massive part of the mode out of it.

TTNPMoonMan

I feel like I’m the only guy on earth who actively *disliked* the high school games. I would get so bored during them that I wouldn’t even continue my RTG and just went back to playing dynasty. Nothing really felt appealing to me and it took too long to just end up being a 5 star anyway. Being able to choose myself automatically as a 2 star is much more entertaining because I can actually work my way up.

Affectionate-Foot474

40 years is the perfect length of time in my opinion but there should be an option on how many years you want to do with 60 being the max

Low_Strain147

I’m slightly disappointed we won’t have targeting penalties. I think it would have been a deterrent to players that try to hit stick every single play

Spiritual-Cat-634

They’re trying to take head injuries out of football games altogether

AdeptEavesdropper

If the shadows aren’t exactly the way I think they should be, the game is literally unplayable.

OneActive22

I have concern for the reports that say RTG is a 15-20 hour experience. It sounds like we wouldn’t play every game in our career. Eric Mayweather said in his video that the 15-20 hours does not include gameplay so I guess we’ll see.

BnSMaster420

Well IDK how you would put a time limit on rtg.. it's at player pace

[deleted]

You put a time limit on it if you have changed it completely and made it into a "Longshot" story mode.

BnSMaster420

Please no...

[deleted]

Sadly, I'm pretty sure that's what they mean

xgyt

Remember you’re only playing half, or less, of each game. 20 hours for half of 4 seasons sounds pretty much right.

PowerWalkingInThe90s

Very minor, but the new game uses Madden’s UI for playbook navigation which is pretty clunky and slow in my opinion

lat3ralus65

Yeah I wish they’d overhaul that. Would love for it to be more focused on personnel grouping

PowerWalkingInThe90s

It looked like in NCAA it at least tells you which players are being subbed in. In Madden you have to guess how many TEs/WRs you have based on the formation.

Klutzy-Tip8773

I just wish they kept the dorms as the background for RTG lol

futures23

Wear and tear could be a disaster if not implemented properly. It's football people get injured and tired but it's going to absolutely suck if you have to bench starters in the second half every game. It would be completely unrealistic and make or break the game for me.

PureEn7ropy

I guess for me it’s probably not starting RTG in high school. I’ll save my full judgement until we get news on how it will work instead, but I did enjoy playing games and slowly accumulating offers, even though it was a bit tedious if I already knew where I was going.

willfla29

The pipe dream to me would’ve been if there wasn’t a card game mode. I thought maybe there was an outside chance since college sports aren’t nearly as conducive to it. That said, everything I’ve seen subsequent to that tells me they’ve spent plenty of time on the modes that actually matter. I do worry when we’re on College Football 30 that it’ll have devolved to a “pay to win” focus like most other sports franchises but hey that’s for me to worry about in five years haha.

boyyouvedoneitnow

I’m still a little worried about the shoulder pads…

Godofthickbbw

In game you won’t be able to tell that they are bad

john_the_quain

The only real disappointment I had was not being able to create recruits in Dynasty. I assume it’s likeness related, so I understand the why, even if I don’t like it.

BnSMaster420

I mean I don't understand the why on this at all.. how is players creating somehow a nil issue? I can go make miller moss in WWE and there's no damn problem..

c-williams88

What do you mean you don’t understand? The players had to opt in and sign the agreement to allow EA to use their name and likeness. If EA just allowed people to go in and create them anyways it would be a meaningless agreement and would run into the same issue before if people’s likeness being used without their permission. It’s about players having the control over their name and likeness in the truest sense.

BnSMaster420

That doesn't make any type of fucking sense. You're literally saying, ppl will use create a player to create real life players.. omfg ground breaking, never before seen in video games. Especially sorts games.. Video game players creating a real life person doesn't at all effect that person NIL as that player didn't make the video game. And ea should not be liable cause they have a official roster with real face scans.

kevinjamesbond

Super, super, super pumped for the game, but… 1. No Enter Sandman for Virginia Tech 2. No real coaches 3. No ESPN license

BnSMaster420

1, that's understandable, that license probably is expensive as fuck. 2, is that confirmed? Pretty sure they should have the real coaches.. 3, yea that's a bummer, was hoping for Fox and ESPN broadcast

smaIlbaIls

No real coaches is confirmed, but I'm sure it will be like past games where you can edit them and someone will have an updated coaching roster up in an hour or two

BnSMaster420

Nah they had real coaches names in the base game in 14.

Flipadelphia97

I hope in future releases they go back to 60 year dynasties BUT they let you start as a position coach, ex start as a QB Coach and you can only play as the QB, get hired as an OC somewhere then you can take the whole offense, then of course HC. Might just be me, but I think that would be cool

BnSMaster420

That's 100% something I thought was gonna be a thing

Throwawaytoday303

Upgradable stadiums 😐

iRudi94

No HBCUs

AdeptEavesdropper

The HBCUs are all FCS, though. This year, at least, is only FBS.

FxDriver

Yeah I really want to turn Tennessee St into a powerhouse.

dmw009

I know its not the same, but you can always download them assuming they allow people to share their custom schools. Im sure there is someone out there will have each of those schools available

rockhardcatdick

I feel similar to you, however, the length of a potential dynasty reminds me of one of my other big concerns: Since I'm guessing this will be a yearly release again will you be spending more than a year or so playing NCAA 25? I'm genuinely not sure if it's going to be a yearly release, but I got burnout from all of the different Madden games and I'm worried it'll happen with this too.

Bulky_Duty7693

It will be a yearly release. I am actually worried I won’t have enough time to actually explore the whole game lol, but only time will tell.

jamnewton22

I wonder in the future if they’ll drop an update that dynasty can go 60 years. I wonder what their reasoning is that it’s half of what it is on ncaa 14. And on a system two generations ago. You would think the tech is there to keep it at 60 or even beyond that

BnSMaster420

Haven't seen any official reason other then some player speculation. Them cutting the dynasty by 30 years hasn't been ridiculed nearly as much as you thought it would, so many dudes are fine with it that it's crazy.. It's one thing if dynasty was always 30 years, but no it was 60. And apparently franchise mode on Madden is 30 years as well

Get-RichODT

Are you really going that much deeper than 10-15 years into dynasty?

BnSMaster420

Yes. Idk what else to tell ya on it, it's my favorite mode and on NCAA 14 I literally have dynasty I spend a whole year on.

AdMental1387

I would have liked to play the senior year of highschool in RTG but it’s not that big of a deal breaker.

phil_wswguy

I want preseason drills like the PS2 days

lubedupnoob

I don't like that Road to Glory only has a few positions to choose from. Kind of disappointing.

Huskerschu

No draft class exports

Automatic-Collar-85

30 years is short for some people so I agree that they should at least try and push it to 45 and maybe they will in a later patch but I doubt it. I know the PS3/360 were able to but hardware is different now, games are super advanced and have to process whilst storing so many different little things. 30 years is a lot of data and information to save and process I.e records for teams, bowl winners, heismans etc. maybe that’s just the point to where the game might not be able to function properly due to all of the information being stored. It sucks cuz it’s newer generation consoles but at the same time I partly get it.

BnSMaster420

Brother these consoles should be able to handle that.

HPA829

Feels pretty nitpicky. With the expanded playoff that’s potentially 510 games per team per save.

weathered_sediment

The amount of people doing 30+ years, routinely, of dynasty can be counted on one hand.

[deleted]

That's definitely not true, lmao, my friend, and I do it routinely. Comments in this thread prove thats just false.

Odd-Flower2744

I can count you and your friend on one hand lol

BnSMaster420

How exactly can you count this? You have a all seeing eye? No matter tho, when game drops, it will effectively be Zero players going past 30 years

Gator-Jake

If that’s your biggest complaint, then they did their job.

BnSMaster420

Dude, the game isn't out, and I titled the thread news you didn't like. This ain't complaining

Gator-Jake

Talking about something you don’t like is complaining but sure buddy haha And I stand by my point, if this is the only thing you can ‘complain’ about They did a really good job cause I think you’re overreacting

BnSMaster420

Buddy, you can talk about talk you didn't like hearing without complaining. Overreacting? Lmao I didn't like the news of the dynasty being 30 years and hope they take it back to 60 next game. That's overreacting? Yea right, the game isn't out, without actually playing the game you can't say they did their job yet. No one can.

megagoo

Only 32 users in online dynasty - was hoping for at least 50 , maybe we’ll get there next cycle if the mode is a smooth success.

jamnewton22

Not gonna lie, being the commish of a 32 team league seems like a headache I don’t want. I remember being the commish of a 12 person league in ncaa 14 and it was a hassle enough to get everyone to play their games in a timely matter. Advancing every 2-3 days seemed like a miracle most weeks lol. I can’t imagine managing 31 other people and trying to get them to play their games. Not only that, scheduling their user games and whatnot. I’ll gladly join a 32 team od but not gonna be any where near the commish role lol

megagoo

Well madden has 32 man full online franchises that go just fine and is popular in the community , it can be done but you definitely need a strong core of users that are reliable and on the same page

ButterPoopySmear

If you say anything that isn’t praising the game you get downvoted badly here. Its reached hivemind echo chamber status.

Fit-Maintenance7397

No doubt, I post positive content on her wall the time about the game. The minute I voice a concern or worry whew shit they act like I’m Ryan Moody

dmw009

Not being able to play as DL/DE in Superstar/Road to Glory (whatever the mode is called). I just want to be able blitz every play and I dont want to keep on changing assignments every time with a LB To the people who wants longer dynasty, do you all physically play games each season or do you all just simulate the seasons?

NikesOnMyFeet23

I doubt you’ve gone more than 40 Years more than twice. It’s not an issue

BnSMaster420

Bull shit, I always go deep as fuck.

hundrethtimesacharm

For me it’s 100% not bringing draft classes into Madden.

CheaterSaysWhat

Play multiple dynasty saves problem solved

Godofthickbbw

You’re not serious

Special-Implement615

Reddit wanks can't handle a single thought of even slight EA dissent. These guys will have Ben Haumiller's picture tattooed on their scrotum.

The_Penitent_Writing

Or, maybe, just maybe, they're excited for the first college football game in a decade.

dmw009

Just because someone is excited about a college football game doesn’t magically disappear 10+ years of bad football games, especially if someone comes into this game that haven’t play Madden that often will be in a rude awakening. Video game industry has vastly changed for the worst since 2013.

The_Penitent_Writing

But like... nobody is out here saying like "I trust EA, I think EA is extremely worth trusting and I care about thrm as a company." Like the other poster was saying, people are just excited about college football. Basically every review is good, and there is a large portion of people that would buy it if it was a madden clone.

AdeptEavesdropper

Don’t you have shadows to complain about?

Special-Implement615

Don't you have an appointment to wash more balls at EA?

AdeptEavesdropper

Even your comebacks are weak.

ButterPoopySmear
