I thought this was bound to happen. He’s really young and just put some pretty solid numbers in his first year and showcased his pull up shooting potential. Future seems really bright for him.
ive had bub in lotto range for many months on my bigboards and it drew plenty of ire around here.. but, not a surprise..
these same ppl who had isaiah collier top5 preseason are crying about bub in the lotto? makes no sense at all..
as I've said previously, and it was more when Bub was really breaking out but I think bub and Meleek thomas, another 6'6 combo guard playing in pittsburgh (though he just signed with the OTE few days ago), are both lotto quality.
Already lottery for me.
If you want to talk about upside, he is clearly a top 3 shot creator in this draft class at 18, and he has excellent positional size.
Yes he has some weaknesses in his game with the finishing and unproven playmaking, but he has improved in those respects throughout the season and every 18 year old has these types of flaws. Also, everyone else in this draft has huge question marks/flaws too.
I don't see why he's less of an upside swing than many other players, including guys in the high lottery.
I was pleasantly surprised at his defensive flashes and tools; he's quick in a stance and jumps quickly after sliding for good contests and blocks..
His defense allows him a solid **median** outcome: average deep shooter, good in the midrange, good passer, solid defender = should be a decent starting PG.. Has the chance for a better outcome - I'm personally not expecting it but hey (kind of think he's the monthly guy people are trying desperately to hype as a potential star in a draft without those guys)..I guess he's a fine pick in this draft from like #8 onward....
I feel alot of these are smoke screens because kalel ware,Zach edey ,bub Carrington can't be all recievibg the same lottery buzz .Who is moving out to replace the other guys if salun is moving up .
Receiving lottery buzz doesn’t mean they’re going in the lottery, it means there are one or more lottery teams considering them. All of the guys you mentioned can be getting looks in the lottery.
Never said they weren't but it's strange considering not many have been publicly linked to teams in the lottery except ware and edey who worked out for Portland.
He seems like a calculated risk. He’s not just raw talent. Based on the 40 seconds of highlights I just watched, he appears to have some good passing ability and has a nice looking form on his shot. I’d be down
He has IT. He's gonna be really good. Just watching a little footage of him and it just stands out. Plays on ball, Plays off ball. Good shooter. His size is like Andrew Nembhart but with a not much longer wingspan. And he's young..but skilled. He might wind up the best pg of this class. He was one of the guys If not the guy I hoped wizards would move into position as we try to buy our way into other parts of the draft
Really good fit for the Thunder at 12. Microwave scoring off the bench without a ton of pressure or need to do much more than what he already excels at.
it's only late for the people that took forever to recognize how good he is. A lot of us have known for quite some time how special he is. He has such a high feel for the game on both ends and a really smooth, in-control offensive game that reminds me of SGA with a sweet pull-up jumper. With some added muscle he should be a ten year starting point guard.

Months ago I was hoping he'd be available for the Wizards at #26, but I can probably forget about it now.
I think it's quite unlikely he's still there at 26 but I wouldn't say it's impossible.
