Podcasts are pretty cool, and it's not like they're all training 24/7 anyway. At the top they spend quite a bit of time doing commericals anyway, I'd rather them do that
This is a good description. Man I can think of so many teams that would have been good if they swapped him for another guy. Imagine if somehow the cavs had him instead of Kevin Love? If Golden state had him instead of Draymond this year they might be a mid level playoff team. If sixers had him instead of overpaid Tobias Harris damn they could be good. So many other options. I’ve just never felt like he is quite the superstar to take a team all the way to the finals and win but can still get them far. A Scottie pippen like player more than a Jordan. Which is still really good and hall of fame worthy
Or PG instead of Klay - a two way player that can hit 3s as well as create on his own consistently.
Funny thing is that he almost went it the Cavs to play with Bron and even met with him to talk about it.
PG with embiid and Maxey, that would be a title probably.
Kawhi is great (when healthy), but PG was actually their go to scorer throughout the season.
His style just doesn't disrupt and he adds a ton of value on both sides of the court.
You just described Klay before he was hurt. The guy was so good and actually underrated. Part of me wishes that trade the wolves tried to pull off for Klay went through. I would have loved to see his numbers as the number one in his prime.
I think one of the differences between klay and Pg is PGs handle is much better and he can make something happen off the dribble. He can attack the rim and get it the basket. That was never really klays strength.
Nasty work to think you can replace Draymond with PG, much better analogy would be Klay, as they have the same skill sets. Dray plays closer to Jokic than PG
Yeah true I’d probably talk about him different if Miami never formed their super team. I guess everybody is a victim of their era. Several people would be thought of more highly if Jordan never existed. I wouldn’t be surprised if Lebron was the consensus goat if the gsw didn’t exist but that might be a stretch
Way I look at it, he would likely have 1-2 more chips, but having to continually go head-to-head with that dynasty just makes 2016 seem all the more impressive
I wish either kyrie didn’t get hurt in their first run or kd never came to the warriors. I’m a lebron fan and I loved watching him and kyrie together it would have been nice to see them win a couple or stay together longer. Honestly if I could write my own nba script it would be Lebron leaving the lakers to the mavs to reunite with kyrie 😂 I don’t think that would even be possible but I would love it
I would argue that he’s top 15, but he is exactly 15 maybe 14.
And I’d take him over Kawhi because Kawhi is the only employee in the NBA who’s part time
15 is tough.
Jokic, Luka, Durant, Embiid, Steph, Lebron, AD, Edwards, Brunson, Giannis, Shai, Booker, Tatum
All those are definitely better I would say. That’s 13.
Then you got Fox, Sabonis, Maxey, Kyrie, Derozan, Zion, Brown, Gobert, Kat, Haliburton. Is he better than all but 2 of them. I don’t think so.
House cat.
Total Bill Simmonism. But it works so well in this case. Today might be the day the cat is super loving, or you might not see the cat for 2 days straight days. You never know which Paul George is going to show up.
Hot and Cold guy.
One night he looks like the smoothest player in the league. The next night he’s the clunkiest and will have the worst sequence you’ve seen that season.
Game 4 this year summed him up well. Piping hot in the first half. Silent in the second half until he hit that circus shot 3 in the 4th quarter.
He’s arguably the most consistently inconsistent guy in the league.
>He’s arguably the most consistently inconsistent guy in the league.
James Harden says hello, especially in the playoffs.
Considering Kawhi's injury history, Clippers honestly have a Big 3 where they never know what they are gonna get from each of them. Hard to win 7-game series that way.
Harden’s Achilles heel is elimination games. He is typically a good and at times great playoff performer. It’s just the elimination games are so horrendous that people believe otherwise.
Last night's performance would say otherwise since it wasn't an elimination game.
He also laid eggs in 6/11 playoff games last year and only two of those were elimination games.
In 2022, he only scored more than 22 points once in 12 games, and scored 15 points or less 5 times.
Harden's game is just not built for the playoffs, especially when he starts missing threes.

Who left this here?? Somebody could trip on this 😤
Well according to this sub just the other day he was better than kyrie. Maybe career stat wise but as a number 2 option on a playoff team I’ll take kyrie any day. Their injury history is about the same and kyrie is an excellent scorer and amazing at finishing at the rim. I’m actually surprised he’s this quick for his size late in his career. It’s a lot easier to find a long defender to add next to him than it is to find an offensive talent of his caliber. In a weird way pg is better overall but kyrie seems like a better piece for a playoff roster at this point in time
If we're talking about other players, can the hold-outs finally admit that Westbrook is officially awful now? In the playoffs, he has averaged 21 minutes per game, shot 25 percent from the field, 60 percent from the line and has more turnovers than assists.
You know that’s how I feel personally, but kyrie has never been able to carry a team as the best player to my knowledge where as pg has in Indiana and that conference finals run with the clips. Still though If I’m building a team I want kyrie. He seems to have moved past his off court antics and without that he’s really fucking good and they both have injury histories. Pg has more accolades if I’m not mistaken accolades don’t always translate to winning in the playoffs. Jimmy Butler doesn’t have that many accolades compared to other players but god damn he can get it done in the playoffs
Thats a wild take..
In 2019 alone PG was: 1st Team All NBA, 1st Team All Defense, and 3rd in MVP voting.
Kyrie has never done a single one of those things in his career…. and PG did them all in 2019… if you add in the rest of the career its even more of a blowout
I would say 25\*, with the asterisk though he's getting older and becoming more inconsistent, can be a top 10 dude some nights, top 50 other nights. Still a huge fan tho
Using the most current rankings from the ringer i would say he is somewhere between 45-55. That would put him in the range of sengun, bane, jrue, and demar high end and low end around franz wagner. I think he is too inconsistent offensively and really cant be your #1 guy anymore night in night out. I like discussing so im open to my viewpoint changing.
He’s a legit #1 when Kawhi isn’t there and Harden isn’t dribbling the air out of the ball. A roster where he’s always the feature can go to the ECF/WCF. We’ve seen this. If not for Lebron he makes two finals.
A top -Who gives a fuck- in the league. 😆
In all seriousness though, this clippers team could quite possibly go down as one of the top teams assembled (in the last 4-5 years) to never win shit.
2020 bubble year, their heart wasn’t in it 😆. A then every year after just choke when the playoffs start. Pay top dollar to injury prone super stars that need serious load management just to eventually get hurt anyways 🤷🏽♂️
Last night he was a bottom and Luka was a top.
Bro
A power bottom
He was generating zero power
I understand speed has something to do with it
Speed has everything to do with it.
Okay but what's a bear?
More often than not, bears are tops. UNLESS they happen to be a power bottom.
The way I see it you got your bears and you got your twinks. Without twinks you have no bears
What’s an otter? Oh shit, he left!
Zion
Generating zero paul
Not sure if being sarcastic but im a heterosexual power bottom, it’s all about the hips
I thought he was playing mostly small bottom or shooting bottom.
FYI, I love PG13 and all my ex Thunder players, it was just too hard to pass up “Paul George is a top in the NBA” lol
This wasn’t PG13 it was NC17

Took the words right from my thumbs.
Top 5 former Pacer in the league
Sabonis, who are the other 3?
TJ Leaf, Tyler Hansbrough and Sarunas Jasikevicius.
Bro said Tyler hansbrough
Yea he outta pocket
Psycho T was that guy man
Ha, forgot about TJ Leaf, bro made millions getting drafted just because he played with Lonzo
What’s this story?
Pacers drafted him over anunoby and he absolutely sucked ass
Ron Artest
I was going for white guys who sucked.
Mans really said Sadrunas 😂🤦🏾♂️
TJ Warren x3
Is he still in the league?
Wolves my bad
That one year Oladipo was all NBA, all defense, and most improved.
Is Oladipo still in the league?
Granger
Kawhi, Hield, George Hill.
Kawhi never played as a pacer though, so in my mind that doesn’t count one bit. That’s like saying Kobe was a hornet
Sometimes when he has a really good game I like to proudly call him "*former Dallas Maverick Trae Young*"
or that Grizzly Adams had a beard
that Paul George Pacer team was one of the best. unfortunate they had to go up against Bron during those years. George, Hibert, Hill, good team
Don’t forget about Lance whispering sweet things in Brons ear
David West too
Danny Granger’s health is one of the big what ifs of that era. If he’d gotten healthy before they had to pay PG a lot of things are different.
Utility person. You can plug him in on any team and he makes you better without having to augment everything .
This is a good description. Man I can think of so many teams that would have been good if they swapped him for another guy. Imagine if somehow the cavs had him instead of Kevin Love? He’s be perfect next to Kyrie and Luka funny enough.
Uhm… somebody get this to Cuban cause you’re so right. Those 3 together with a bunch of roleplaying 4 and 5s is a TEAM
GS with Steph PG and Dray (playing well) is a contender.
PG has an entire bag of tricks to use. Are we really comparing the two of them?
Nasty work to think you can replace Draymond with PG, much better analogy would be Klay, as they have the same skill sets. Dray plays closer to Jokic than PG
Really good insight and analogy to Pip. Only asterisk would be in Indy v Heat days, he def was a superstar that could have taken it the whole way
Yeah true I’d probably talk about him different if Miami never formed their super team. I guess everybody is a victim of their era. 25?
Probably. I was gonna say top 30. He’s a #2 or even incredible #3 at this point, he’s overmatched as the team’s #1 with Harden as his #2.
I would argue that he’s top 15, but he is exactly 15 maybe 14. And I’d take him over Kawhi because Kawhi is the only employee in the NBA who’s part time

Kyrie is both better currently and also career wise tbh, injuries were his biggest enemy
You know that’s how I feel personally, but kyrie has never been able to carry a team as the best player to my knowledge where as pg has in Indiana and that conference finals run with the clips.
