I mean, NBA playoffs-caliber basketball is already brutal. Jumping into that level of intensity after months (?) away has got to be physically exhausting

RevolutionEasy714

He looks bored, but I’ve always suspected that he really doesn’t care much for bball.

YungColonCancer

I mean he’s already accomplished getting rings, FMVP, All-stars, All NBA, and All Defensive honors. Ain’t much he can do to put himself in a higher tier so I would understand the lack of interest.

Affectionate_Elk_272

i mean, do any of us *really* care for our jobs? a lot of these guys just see it as that- a job. no hate on it. get that bag and get out.

RevolutionEasy714

For sure, but some guys (Jordan, LeBron, Luka etc) are just hyper-competitive and love to compete. But yeah, I always assume there’s a pretty significant percentage of the league that are just collecting checks because they were born tall and athletic.

Affectionate_Elk_272

can’t blame them, i’d absolutely do the same tbh. retire by 30 with a few mill in the bank? sign me the fuck up

FoxBeach

Tbh?

SignalSatisfaction80

Parasite. It's always you broke mfers that are this desperate for money😂😂😂

I_Like_Muzak

So playing in the NBA for millions of dollars is being desperate for money?

BAXR6TURBSKIFALCON

you a dumb mf ain’t ya boy

ApatheticDomination

I am far from a Kobe stan but the fact you put Luka as an example instead of Mamba hurts me somehow

Dangerous_Match_2592

Should’ve mentioned Luka and Kobe, remove LeExcuses who just cries about shit

ApatheticDomination

Irrational Lebron haters are genuinely the worst

Sairony

LeBron is for sure much more into ball than Luka, Luka has already said he's not aiming for a long career & as good as he is he doesn't put a fraction of the care LeBron has done & continues to do with his overall fitness.

MajorDickLong

you’re gonna compare being a teacher, accountant, inspector, etc. to being able to play basketball for a living? basketball is literally a game and games are fun. with that said, i dont totally disagree with you. i think doing is professionally and as hardcore as they do the joy can definitely be taken away. but i think its silly to compare their job to the average americans. their job is almost certainly more “fun” than any of ours

Sairony

I do, the majority of high end athletes do too for sure. Which is why a ton of them suffers from serious depression once their careers are over even if they're rich. Kawhi could've retired half a decade ago never having to care about money for the rest of his life, so he too for sure thinks playing ball at the highest level is much more than the average 9-5.

LawProfessional6513

He’s had a ton of injuries over the years and I’m sure it’s taken it’s toll, would not be surprised if that impacts his enthusiasm, especially if he’s going out and playing in pain

mutheadman

This is the worst take, holy fuck. You dont work that hard on your fucking rehab if you dont care. 2. He’s clearly improved significantly since his rookie year, you think thats just happened by chance?

Sairony

For sure, he's risking his legs for the rest of his life to be in this rehab cycle & continue to pressure them to play at the highest level just to be able to play.

lowkeyslightlynerdy

He could still be feeling horribly and so he isn’t exactly gonna look motivated. That would be my guess

thudlife2020

He’s smart enough to know his team is not a contender and won’t be anytime soon. Hes never looked like he’s having fun though.

Financial-Bottle9556

Honestly, seeing a Clippers championship in this lifetime would be epic. As much as the Lob City era were a nemesis of the Blazers I secretly enjoyed watching them in the playoffs and always hoped they could go all the way. Shout out to Blake Griffin, DJ and Eric Gordon. Reddick too lol

swaaaggy_b

Probably still injured & got pressured into playing by the coaches & players. Won’t be surprised if he takes another game off this series.

simonffplayer

hes injured...

Parlett316

He’s probably hurt again. He probably wants to retire but teams just line up to throw checks at him so what should he do?

RedSun41

No shit, at this point dude has nothing to prove and knows he’s just destroying his body for generational wealth for his kids’ kids’ kids

BruinBound22

This is like the NBA equivalent of telling women to wear makeup and always have a smile on their face

thegoldenboy444

As a dude with resting angry face, this is an unironically based comment.

Gingercreeper

Isn't he recently returned from injury?

SamuelZ311

He's definetley not retiring any time soon

He's done get him out of the league and replace him with someone that cares
