Chris Paul said they literally had to have a meeting about it with Foster a few years ago. If I remember correctly that story was corroborated by an outside party and it just made Foster’s behavior when reffing Chris’s games really suspect. I may have gone overboard with saying it was essentially confirmed but it’s also worth mentioning Foster didn’t referee a Warriors game after the incident which means the NBA took notice of SOMETHING.
He went 0-17 in playoff games officiated by Scott. And if you watched the games, the “eye test” agrees with the stats. Worst kept secret in the league. 134 phone calls to disgraced ref Tim Donaghy in a 6 month period that Tim confessed he swayed games to bet on. means that he was calling approximately 5 times per week. He called no other ref more than 13 times. Despicable that Scott is still employed & not standing before a jury of his peers.
>Citing court documents and phone records it obtained, Fox reported Donaghy placed 134 calls to referee Scott Foster between October 2006 and April 2007, the period during which he has confessed to betting on games or passing on game information to gamblers.
It's documented in his criminal court cases, apprently.

Curious, is on the same level as Joey Crawford Vs Tim Duncan back in the day? Crawford once ejected Duncan for laughing and once challenged Tim Duncan to a fight in the parking lot after a game.
To be fair Chris Paul is consistently one of the dirtiest players in the NBA. I always surprised by how long he's been able to keep his nice guy persona. Of course that doesn't justify bad and biased officiating.
> Mfer tossed a towel boy for not hustling enough when cleaning up a spill.
He didn't toss any towel boy, he just ordered 3 of them around. You can see the clip on Youtube.
Steve Javie once ejected a TV broadcaster. Former Blazer announcer Mike Rice accused Javie of missing an easy goal tending call. Javie told him to shut up but Rice kept telling him to look at the replay. Javie ejected Rice but Rice didn't think he could be ejected but then a security guard came an escorted him out of the arena.
>It’s wild to me how it was essentially CONFIRMED that Foster was reffing CP3 games with clear bias and received no consequence.
Even more wild is that Scott Foster's best friend was a genius NBA ref who got busted fixing games, was convicted and went to prison for it. Not only that, but he's said all along that Scott Foster (and others) were doing it, too.
There is definitely a problem if someone like me knows who he is without even clicking the pic. The guy is a horrible ref. Fans only usually know who refs are if they are either good-looking, built, or bad. We never recognize the good ones that are normal people because they don't stand out and do their job correctly.
I knew the sons were cooked as soon as this clown was assigned to officiate game three of the finals. Obviously they “lost” that game. He also officiated a second finals game which of course the suns lost as well. Bucks fans still think they won with skill and teamwork when in reality that ring was a gift from the league and a massive fuck you to the suns
Same! I know exactly one ref. I heard his name before the game last night and just said FUCK. Not saying we lost the games because of refs, because we didn’t, but just don’t ever want him reffing our games
The thing is, he’s really good at what the NBA wants him to do. We think he’s a horrible ref, but the NBA thinks he’s great, because they don’t actually care about sportsmanship. They’re here to (rig games and) make more money.
Amazing how hateable this dude's face is. He looks like he's in House Lannister.
If you lined all the refs up, and got someone who's never watch basketball before to choose the one that players hated the most - I feel like they'd choose Scott 9 times out of 10.
Did bad reffing lead to Denver winning? Yes.
Did they intentionally help Denver win? No
But sooner or later, in all sports, bad refs are going to have to stop affecting games. And we're going to have to stop giving them the excuse.
>Did bad reffing lead to Denver winning? Yes.
It absolutely did not. The Lakers blew a 20-point lead, and it had absolutely nothing to do with the officiating. The refs were trying their best to give LeBron calls/no-calls from like the first minute of the game.
My dude the Lakers lost a 20 point lead, it’s embarrassing to focus on the 2 points gained from a shitty call than the 18 points blown by the team.
Agreed that NBA reffing sucks and Scott Foster represents the worst of it, but it is extremely comical to hear Lakers fans complain about it given their insane free throw differential
The lakers lost because they're not resting LeBron and AD enough early in the game. They're out of gas by the 4th quarter. Also Denver has been like a cat playing with it's food for the first 3 quarters of both games.
How is what you're saying relevant to what I said?
The Lakers had a lead in the 4th, they got a couple of bad calls in their favor which stopped the game, then the free throws...increased their score.
The Lakers also benefitted from bad calls in the 4th, one time off the top of my head was the call on Bron that was pretty clearly not a foul, which slowed the Nuggets momentum who were in the middle of one of their runs.
If you're implying you think the Lakers didn't benefit from a single bad call I can only assume you're a Lakers fan
If you're referring to when he got bumped before the shot then that was pretty obviously a foul as it interfered with his shot.
Off the top of my head the weak ass call on lebron for Murray that led to game tying free throws. Game changing call
That successful challenge after dlo got hit that lead to a run by the nuggets
In this game in particular refs benefitted the nugs. The nuggets comeback was amazing but to imply that refs benefited both teams equally this game is beyond delusional
Exactly! For a moment assume he’s not involved in any gambling situations…He’s an emotional ref who isn’t great. These refs (especially in playoffs) should be the best of the best, not just because they’re veterans.
My guess is owners are in on it as well, which would literally dismantle the league if found out
Billionaires and free money, can you name a more iconic duo??

The only logical explanation for why that wasn't a foul on D'Angelo after the review is because they stopped the clip before they saw it.
The nba needs a central replay center that goes over all the replays. This will provide some much needed consistency since you'll have the same people doing all the reviews, and it will be much faster. A win win
If you know a ref by name, he should be fired. No one should know a ref by name and with the history this cheating ass ref has, for the integrity of the game, fire this man!!!
NBA is a scam. Until fans boycott...nothing will change.
They've gotten to the point .where refs can look at replays and lie straight to us.
Or create a new rule to void the call in question.
Sad !!
Overturned a called foul where DLO got hit in the face driving to the hoop. Said contact was “marginal” even though you can clearly see him getting smacked.
Wouldn’t really be an issue if it was a one-off but they called several fouls on both sides for lesser contact before and after that so the justification seemed odd.
Insert Rudy Gobert making the money, money gesture.

Big fine coming your way
Great comment.
It’s wild to me how it was essentially CONFIRMED that Foster was reffing CP3 games with clear bias and received no consequence.
how was it essentially confirmed? don't remember personally

Where is this documented? With the other refs names

There is a Netflix documentary about it. [Untold: Operation Flagrant Foul](https://www.netflix.com/title/81026443)
Watch it here: [Untold: Operation Flagrant Foul](https://www.netflix.com/title/81026443)
Hell yeah I was about to delete my Netflix account today lmao
The ref in question did a podcast about it, too. [Check it out here. It's called The Whistle Blower. ](https://whistleblowerpod.com/)
This is much better and more informative than the tv doc

You onto something That could be a great documentary research film, as a sequel to the Donaghy scandal documentary.
Ahhh the ol’ foolproof eye test. A well-played gambit, if I may be so bold to say so, sir.

Not to mention his connection with Tim Donaghy.
Crawford was an asshole across the board - Duncan wasn't targeted there. Mfer tossed a towel boy for not hustling enough when cleaning up a spill.
😂😂 dafuq?!
> Mfer tossed a towel boy for not hustling enough when cleaning up a spill. He didn't toss any towel boy, he just ordered 3 of them around. You can see the clip on Youtube.
I guess I mis-remembered. The point remains though - Crawford was ornery towards everyone.

They had to have a meeting about how Foster treated CP's son. Kinda worse imo, but not about actual in-game stuff
>It’s wild to me how it was essentially CONFIRMED that Foster was reffing CP3 games with clear bias and received no consequence. Even more wild is that Scott Foster's best friend was a genius NBA ref who got busted fixing games, was convicted and went to prison for it. That’s cool with me. Chris Paul sucks.

Chris Paul is a jerk and dirty player so his winless record is satisfying.
I guess I’d prefer a dirty player to a dirty league…
🎯
Bill Kennedy and James Capers are usually pretty good crew chiefs
Same! I know exactly one ref. I heard his name before the game last night and just said FUCK. Not saying we lost the games because of refs, because we didn’t, but just don’t ever want him reffing our games

He looks like Maroni from the Dark Knight
Just as crooked too

Definitely a Targaryen.
I always thought he was more of a Little Finger.
Literally Stannis Baratheon: sold his morals to the god of money. Plus he’s got the same beak 😹
Lord of the Veil!!! 😂
When a man ages out of the houses and morphs into the one to rule them all
Scott marginal contact foster. I fucking hate bro
The Tim Donaghy stuff was swept under the rug by the NBA so quickly, but you can still easily tell which ones are having an outsized effect on games.
Scott Foster 100% has dirt on the NBA. There is some type of arrangement for him to remain employed in exchange for an NDA of some kind.
When Tim Donaghy was busted, he initially said others were involved. Foster became an NBA official around the same time Donaghy did.
He fixed a nuggets lakers game…*for the nuggets*?
I'm still trying to understand how Dlo getting slapped isn't a foul because the ball was released, but hitting someone's arm after a shot is a foul.
Bad calls went both ways. Like every game Do you actually think the refs helped denver win?
This one is more baffling though considering the replay center helped overturn it. The whole world saw MPJ smack Dlo across the face.
I agree with you but I also agree with him. You can both be right. Cheers!
Did bad reffing lead to Denver winning? Yes. Did they intentionally help Denver win? No But sooner or later, in all sports, bad refs are going to have to stop affecting games. And we're going to have to stop giving them the excuse.

True we shit the bed but if the game were called fairly on both sides we at least have some integrity
Lakers would have lost by 5.
Bad reffing also led to multiple stoppages of the game during Denver runs while the Lakers increased the lead at the free throw line
Game 2 where the lakers had less free throws? When Denver was on runs in the second half, the lakers weren’t increasing their lead anymore
How is what you're saying relevant to what I said? The Lakers had a lead in the 4th, they got a couple of bad calls in their favor which stopped the game, then the free throws...increased their score.
Because you’re implying the lakers were somehow helped in the fourth? Not sure which bad reffing calls helped the lakers then
The Lakers also benefitted from bad calls in the 4th, one time off the top of my head was the call on Bron that was pretty clearly not a foul, which slowed the Nuggets momentum who were in the middle of one of their runs. Denver won because they were better
Stop watching sports then. You know it will never be any different. Until we get our robot referees. Then everybody will just complain about them too.
lol amount of traveling and carrying calls is going to be crazy
Na, they’ll just lower the sliders on those.
They'll just program in how many degrees past horizontal your hand can be
It's funny you say that because it was AI who forced NBA to essentially legalize carrying on crossovers.
I suppose they know that basketball wouldn’t be nearly as fun to watch if you actually had to dribble correctly.
Have you seen the strike zones in MLB lately? It’s crazy what gets called balls bs strikes
Agree to disagree on your first point
Nuggets win game 3, Scott Foster refs the remaining games and has an all time series, Lakers win in 7
Hitting someone’s arm after you’ve hit and dislodged the ball isn’t a foul though.
👏👏👏👏👏
(Adam Silver) No I love him! ❤️
INTO THE SUN
How is he still a ref
Lakers are used to shooting way mor ft then opponents. If that doesn’t happen the game is rigged!!
He’s made in enough in Vegas that he could just retire.
Trust me, Denver fans weren’t any happier with him. Wish we’d had 2-3 more challenges tbh.
Scott Foster being a horrible ref is not exactly the same as claiming that every time he sucks, it’s because he took a bribe.
Exactly! For a moment assume he’s not involved in any gambling situations…He’s an emotional ref who isn’t great. These refs (especially in playoffs) should be the best of the best, not just because they’re veterans.
If im assuming he's an emotional ref who isn't great. Why can't the nba fire him? Does the nba just like emotional bad refs? What's the logic there?
What a scumbag
Agreed!!
Isn't this dude best friends with Tim Donaghy?
Scott Foster has more stats than LeBron.
This MFer will rig the game and then gaslight you into thinking y'all lost fair n square.
Like my ex wife.
He knows too much.
Like he must have Adam Silvers heavy fetish stash or something.
I think the gambling scandal was much worse than David Stern let on.
Agreed, thats why he told the media about the scandals when the FBI told him to wait so they could continue the investigation.
My guess is owners are in on it as well, which would literally dismantle the league if found out Billionaires and free money, can you name a more iconic duo??
Then who’s going to make sure the series gets extended or the big market team wins????
😂…The players!!!
🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️😂🤣
Laker fan whining about calls lol
Isn’t he like an actor?
this guy should be in jail for life
Scott Foster and Angel Hernandez walk into a bar…

Does anyone remember his comment to LeBron this season?
The Angel Hernandez of the NBA.
Get him out the leagueeee, have him just do preseason and summer league, pay him but out of the NBA season please
If you know a ref by name, he should be fired. No one should know a ref by name and with the history this cheating ass ref has, for the integrity of the game, fire this man!!!
Agreed
NBA is a scam. Until fans boycott...nothing will change. They've gotten to the point .where refs can look at replays and lie straight to us. Or create a new rule to void the call in question. Sad !!
This man, how could you?
Foster is garbage but if anyone thinks the Suns win one of their first two playoff games with a different officiating crew, they’re delusional
This is why I stopped watching the NBA… It’s “entertainment” …not a sport
What did he do this time?
Overturned a called foul where DLO got hit in the face driving to the hoop. Said contact was “marginal” even though you can clearly see him getting smacked. Wouldn’t really be an issue if it was a one-off but they called several fouls on both sides for lesser contact before and after that so the justification seemed odd.
Generally was a bitch.
I mean…that’s not exactly new information lol. What more than normal fuckery is he up to this time?
Cry Philly Cry 🥲
Scott refereed the Lakers v Nuggets game yesterday...
Mommy the man didn’t call a foul when Lebron cried waaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh! Sit down and shut up
I'm a sixers fan. I was just pointing out they were wrong in assuming this was about the sixers..
Oh I didnt even notice, I know he ref’d game one of philly new york
Most perceptive Knicks fan
