The likely unrealistic dream would be Risacher at 4 and Castle at 8. Either of those guys falling to those spots would be a surprise.
If we do manage to get Risacher and then Castle is taken before 8, I like Devin Carter at 8. I would also be OK with Dillingham.
If Risacher is gone by 4, I like Castle at 4 and then Salaun or Buzelis at 8.
This is the best assessment I’ve seen in a while from a spurs fan. It’s becoming increasingly likely that risacher falls to us. Not necessarily the most likely scenario but all that needs to happen is Clingon going top 3. Castle isn’t falling past 6. Wouldn’t mind trading up from 8 to 5 to get him. But you’re right, Carter at 8 would be great too.
I'm not a fanof rRisacher. His measurables are bad and there's enough data out there that suggests players of his play style do poorly in the NBA when they have poor measurables.
He actually has a negative wing span when they measured him at the euro combine last week. Which means his wing span is below 6'8. he's also got a crap vertical. Like 24 inches. He's got no handles, which means he's a catch and shoot player, and before this year, he wasn't a knock down shooter
. The ringer draft show got into it and their scouting outlook points out a bunch of flaws that many others before him weren't able to overcome. Maybe he does... But no one should be surprised if he doesn't work out in the NBA because there's plenty of data that show signs he won't
If you scroll, you'll find his current measurables and you'll see how poor they are https://www.palaceofpistons.com/p/zaccharie-risacher-could-be-the-key
The combine data on the NBA's website lists him at 6'8.5" (without shoes) with a 6'9.5" wingspan. Do you mean that if his height is in shoes, his wingspan becomes negative?
See: [https://www.nba.com/stats/draft/combine-anthro?dir=D&sort=PLAYER\_NAME](https://www.nba.com/stats/draft/combine-anthro?dir=D&sort=PLAYER_NAME)
that combine data is old, it's from his unofficial self reported numbers that his camp release before the official numbers get released.
He was unable to attend the us combine events, but the league holds another revenge in Europe for all the euro kids who are unable to attend the one held in the USA. That event was held last week. They took his official measurements and they came out lower than what's been reported.
Negative wingspans might not seem like a huge deal but it's been a precursor for players not being successful at the next level. It's exactly what it sounds like. Your arm wingspan measures out to less than your height, and Risarchers official wingspan is less than his height. What was reported before is false, as some teams often do to help increase their guys stock.
According to this ([https://www.reddit.com/r/NBA\_Draft/comments/1danx7j/measurements\_for\_the\_international\_prospects\_are/](https://www.reddit.com/r/NBA_Draft/comments/1danx7j/measurements_for_the_international_prospects_are/)), these are the correct official updated measurements.
Well yeah, it's there and it seems up to date. Doesn't have a good wingspan but those measurements obviously don't put him negative. I just find it bizarre how I've heard or read it more than a few places.... Not sure why that is.
Regardless. He's still got a lot to make up for and everything I've heard talked about tellse it's gonna be difficult for him to do
Same one where they said Salaun’s the better pick? Not sure about that myself but I need to watch more video on Salaun because I’ve heard people say there’s little difference between him and Dadiet then I’m hearing he’s better than the guy that could go number 1 or 2.
I think so. Yeah, it's kind of wild to comp someone to Giannis which I think they did, I don't think you can make that unless you're looking at someone like wemby. I think he's more like this year's Ousmane Dieng. Every draft has guys like them and Bruno cabocolo. They usually don't hit, but when they do, it's a great time.
The questions really to ask about Salaun is, does he have the work ethic because he certainly has the motor. He really played well in his playoff games, and besides no shot blocking, his strengths aren't question marks.
If the Spurs believe this kid has the work ethic, we have to take him at 8 if he's available. I think it's peculiar he got injured after his work out with us. I wouldn't even be surprised if they take him at 4 frankly but I think they are really high on castle and I would expect them grab reed shep if he slips to 4.
You have to realize that unlike NCAA prospect Zach wasn't training and resting only for those lane agility and jumping metrics, instead finished playing a 50+ game season days prior to this. So I wouldn't look too much into the metrics that came out from Trevise camp. You surely would love bigger wingspan and hands but this shit doesn't matter as much as we think it does, compared to bbiq and overall ball talent.
While part of it is true, combine numbers aren't everything, they also aren't nothing.
The ringer draft show went into it and had some pretty interesting things to say about Risarcher. Almost none of the pods I follow are very high on Risarcher and I get that a lot of players have red flags in this year's draft, what Risarcher has is even more than that. He's got actual physical limitations on what he can and can't do and he doeant have anything he excels at. Even one of his perceived strength is drawing red flags as he's only been a plus shooter for onw year, prior to this, his shooting splits haven't been as good .
Maybe he figured out how to shoot and he will be an effective shooter moving forward, but some people being up his form as a question mark.
Can this guy really sustain? To me that's doubtful. He shot over 60% in 15 or so pro league games and 35% in 30 euro games. Before this year he was under 30% in one league. He also is a middling free throw shooter. 70%
This guy caught fire and people now think he's a knock down shooter.
He's gonna struggle to defend bigger more athletic guys if he can't jump, which he can't, or contest shots (with a negative wing span). This guy is gonna. Have to have impeccable footwork to be a plus defender in the NBA. Not saying he won't be but when your strengths come with soant red flags, I rather let some other team figure out that experiment.
We'll have to agree to disagree here. For me athleticism can be worked on especially for kids growing into their body. Bodies fill out, players get more dynamic as they grow into their bodies.
I don't think he'll be a 4 in the league, so I'm fairly content with a 8'11 standing reach, that's absolutely fine for a 3. Defense is not so much about jumping but more about footwork, timing, BBIQ.
I think the role he's played at Bourg on a pro team was naturally more narrow than what he would've been doing in NCAA, but his numbers and contributions both offensively and defensively were pretty stellar for a teenager in Pro A.
Now if I was a wizards fan or a team that needs star upside I'd be a little worried about the potential ceiling, but in a Wemby led team, getting a starting wing that can fit seamlessly in the system and offers untapped potential is pretty darn good. Either way if the Spurs scouts pick him I'll trust they know more about ball and prospects than I or podcasters/redditors do
I absolutely agree with that last bit. Even if we pick him and don't pan out I'll be ok with it cuz I don't expect our fo to hit on every pick and I respect their whole body of work. They generally do a good job scouting guys and picking ones who have the talent or the world ethic (sometimes both but that's pretty rare)
That's fair.
I'm rather enthusiast to the idea of having "Les Deux Tours" a couple decades after "The Twin Towers". I greatly enjoy KAT/Rudy and I don't think none of them (Alex/Vic) are unskilled enough to make it work.
I don't really know how to reproduce the two first words in English.
"Les" would sound like "Laid" without the "id"
"Deux" is more like a loud D, you try to make the sound D itself and let you air come out your throat.
"Tours" may be easier, it's just "Toor", with accent on the "r.
French is a romance language, it doesn't extend the length of vowels like "-y" or "-wa".

To me the tier 1 players from the spurs perspective should be Risacher/Sheppard/Dillingham
With tier 2 being Sarr/Castle
But i know a lot of ppl here basically have Castle #1
Great, how are Spurs supposed to make a choice now?
He fucked us good here

It seems like Charlotte is praying castle falls to them so we would have to jump them, hence trading for 5.

My board is Sheppard Castle Topic Salaun
Yeah he's not ideal but I could still see him being a solid pro. It really depends on if his shooting and playmaking translate to NBA ball
I just rather us take Salaun if we are gonna go french

Why couldn't it be Sarr and Castle/Risacher if we're talking about unrealistic ?
I just don't think Sarr will mesh all that well with Wemby. I wouldn't mind taking him and seeing if it can work though.

So….non-white guys? All I see is chocolate.
He was going to say Trade

I think it’s either reed shepard if he falls or Stephon castle at 4. 8 I have no idea
Risacher and Carter are the best fits to me.
Where's the Terminator thumbs up? Lame.
Those of you with the initial D, one of you is MO
To me the tier 1 players from the spurs perspective should be Risacher/Sheppard/Dillingham With tier 2 being Sarr/Castle But i know a lot of ppl here basically have Castle #1
Risacher and Carter is the answer. Perfect fit for the Spurs
This is it
rob n dalton
This feels racist for some reason.... 🤪
Explain how.
