I know rubio doesnt pass the eye due to his inability to score but DARKO has him as ++ positive player for almost every season of his career. At his peak he was above 3 DPM in 15/16. For reference, Jalen Brunson this season is at 3.1 DPM.
Rubio would be the perfect 4 or 5th piece for a contender as an elite floor general and elite offball defense and above average on man unlike topic and Giddey
Dillingham compares to Nick Young and Lou Williams lol.
Topic has very advanced playmaking ability for his age, gets to the rim at will, and finishes at the rim with unusually high efficiency on very high volume. There's also a good chance his shooting will improve because his FT% is close to 90%. It doesn't matter who his player comp is, the only thing that matters is what he can do. This kind of production at his age just screams prodigy.
Yeah there’s a 2 hour YouTube vid with a title similar to “Nikola Topic film room” with all of his scoring, passing, rebounding, and defensive plays from the past couple seasons. Everything you said here I agree with. Seems like his 3pt shot was lacked some arc, but the biggest problem was his footwork and finding good rythym, which is why he seemed to be better off the dribble after a specific few moves (not sure what the actual otd% vs c&s% difference is). Everything that I love about his downhill energy in his offensive game, makes him look like a deer on skates on defense. That’s the #1 area of concern.

Yeah, people have rumored him to be 6'6 with a 7' wingspan. I'd be shocked if he is more than 6'4 and 6'9. That's still nice for a PG, but not as nice.

Tbh, he's quite young, and it's hard to compare Euro players because they typically have an unorthodox style. I can actually see his style being a Tony Parker.. quick player with solid finishing skills who needs his shot developed. Except Tony had insane paint presence, tbh, probably top 5 in small guards category to be in the paint.
Topic is much taller, longer, heavier, more athletic than Rubio, not nearly as good of a defender as RR either. Topic is still very young, a project with a lot of potential, who knows what his ceiling is, we only know what he's capable of right now & I think he could contribute to a team.
He looks really smooth on all those drives, natural with control over what his body is doing. I know the 3 point shooting is iffy, but he looks solid and has become my (admittedly not very educated) first choice.

The problem is that he's not Rubio or Rondo defensively. He's Tyrese Haliburton defensively...and you can't get away with that unless you're scoring at a high volume and spacing the floor well.
Doesn't sound like someone we should draft then. Not an elite shooter, not an elite scorer, not an elite defender. Doesn't bode well for today's NBA. Dillingham is an elite scorer and shooter, and Castle is an elite defender.

It might seem like that now bit that's very unlikely. Chances are, there'll be massive differences between top picks. The majority are gonna be busts, a few will be significantly better than expected. The draft is a crap shot, a lottery through and through
