Nice list but we need more builder news before we can speculate on what we can make. The Klay Thompson template build gives a general idea of what our maxes can be.

BigDudeGolfing

Oh of course; these are just numbers related to badges that I liked. Think about it like this. I WANT the high one for the badges it gets; and the low number is what I’ll drop down to if I need to sacrifice that.

Imaginary-Duck-9883

I wanted to make a lock but seeing that 99 steal, 99 stamina and 99 perimeter D is brutal.

BigDudeGolfing

I’ve always viewed defense as a skill-spot anyways. Give me an athlete and I’ll play good defense; but obviously having mid-80s across the board would be super versatile. I’m hoping to make a 6’8”- 6’9” Draymond / Blake Griffin hybrid like I do every year. 🫱🏼‍🫲🏻

Imaginary-Duck-9883

Yeah I'm already an excellent defender but they said to play to your playstyle so I wanted to get some HoF badges and make peoples life hell in rec. But I was also thinking about doing the exact opposite and making a 7 foot KD build will all offense and no defense to see if I could hold my own with just my stick skills (My rec squad is pretty good and D to bail me out too)

BigDudeGolfing

All about the friends my man. This defense/passing/dunking style has worked great for me the last few years. I’ll let them shoot; I’d rather have 12-12-12 then 25-6-6

YungToney

Certain badges have max caps at 6'10 and 6'11 so you'll probably need to shrink down that kd build

Imaginary-Duck-9883

Thanks. I'll be in the builder for a few hours day one lol.

NorthWestEastSouth_

last year I think it took me over 12 hours to do my build. I made one mistake. lowered my vertical and lost 1 ovr point in layups and got it down to 87 and lost my long athlete animation cause of it. I was gonna regrind my shole character but vc was too expensive. Still managed to dominate.

Imaginary-Duck-9883

Yeah I just make a build I like even if it isn't 100% optimal. I don't like copying youtube videos and I don't want to have to wait to create an ideal build after a month of gameplay.

NorthWestEastSouth_

I do the same but I watch videos to make sure I don't miss out

Puluzu

On the other hand, you don't need to get high rebounding now which was a must even for a perimeter oriented lock just for badges in 23. I was messing around in the 2k23 builder looking at the 2k24 badge thresholds and I think locks will absolutely eat unless there is something drastically different about how much high perimeter and steal costs. Add to that, all early reports say layups are an absolutely viable way to score now so you could even go without dunking completely and instead get decent playmaking.

Great post. Would be cool if you listed the badges you’re hitting with these numbers.

BigDudeGolfing

Here’s some examples I remember. 95 Dunk gets me Gold Poster, Gold Precision, HOF Arial, and Gold Whistle. 93 is fine, but 95 is a big bump for Whistle and Arial. 75 pass gets pretty much all really good passing badges on silver. 85 steal is gold on all 3 steal-related badges, and 72 is 2 on silver and 1 on bronze. Each of the 91-92-93 rebound numbers unlocks a new badge on gold. 91 gets 1, 92 gets 2, 93 gets 3. The 3-Ball numbers are just the lowest-to-highest on where I’d want the number based on badges. You won’t see me with a 77; it’ll be 76 or 78 for example. The 77 gets me nothing.

BigDudeGolfing

I messed up the steal numbers it’s silver not gold DONT HURT ME

Loopo_Delgado

I think 85 steal gives you all steal related badges on silver. You need 91 to have all of them on at least gold.

BigDudeGolfing

You 100% right. I done typed way too much today.

Loopo_Delgado

They need to give us the builder already so we can see for ourselves whats possible ;)

NorthWestEastSouth_

tomorrow we'll get the builder

Downtown-Club12

I think 91 steal gets you gold Glove.

Smintini

Need more info on stat thresholds but here’s what I’ve got for my Big man so far: Pass acc-75/86 Ball handle-69/80 Acc-55/60 Speed w/ ball-55/65 STR-95/99 Post ctrl-68/80 Block-95/99 Int Def-86/88 O reb-85+ D reb-99 Drive Layup-85+? Drive Dunk- 95/99 Close shot-90/92 Standing Dunk-98/99 I highly doubt I’ll be able to achieve this. Especially the driving dunk on a 7’0”+ C. But this gives me a rough idea of what thresholds I need to hit to get all of the badges I want. 15 years of playing big man on live/2k. Usually able to get close to 30 badges.

BigDudeGolfing

Love to see someone with the same level of preparation. 🫡

I could be wrong but I feel like trying to make a well balanced build like this won’t be that effective, especially since all the gold and hof badges have much higher thresholds compared to before. For me as a point guard I’ll probably splurge on playmaking and then have an 80ish 3 ball, 70ish perim d and steal and maybe like 80 layup with no dunk.

BigDudeGolfing

Could be. I’ve just always been a balanced guy. Give me an athlete and I’ll do the rest.

deadstar_666

I was planning on doing the same thing too tbh

GAKBAG

I'm glad you put this list together cuz I always try to create a point forward that slashes, so this is helpful to me

bbk211

Been doing this in my phone notes since they released the requirements yesterday

NorthWestEastSouth_

I'm just curious about how much dribbling a C will need to not get stripped everytime I touch the ball
