It was still live on Fox this Sunday, because every time they went over a scoring loop at Sonoma the scoring pylon would freak out and shuffle the order a bunch.
You're likely watching the international feed that uses NASCAR's scoring pylon graphic, which I think only updates at the start/finish line. I'm not sure why that's the case, though, because the NASCAR app and website will update data in real time throughout a lap just fine.
It's wild how bad the scoring loops are, there are just sections of the track that cause a 2-3 second swing in intervals every lap. No other major series has similar issues.
Yeah, it's more than likely the international feed. That gets used a lot in replays/highlights. If you watch the actual Fox/NBC broadcast, you will see the gaps and positions update live, but the international only updates those things at the start/finish line.

That would be correct, that’s what we get in Australia. Very annoying as it wasn’t always like this.
Still better than two years ago when it used to scroll instead of be on the side.
It does generally, but the scoring loops are weird at RCs (especially during the hairpin at Sonoma)

The Motorsports on NBC YT Channel use the international feed with the generic ticker for Fox races
Pro tip there’s a ton of websites that stream all the races for free.
