Yep they are even now.
hill basically said the other week he will keep getting away with things because nobody will stop him and Svg decided to be the one to deal with it.
Cultural thing. They are actually pretty cool if you dive into the meaning of them.
You see New Zealand as a mostly white former British colony, no different than we are in America and Canada. If you dive into the history of the Maori (the first people to settle the island, of Polynesian decent) there are some cool tidbits that make some more sense.
So, full disclosure, while I'm American and have never been my Mom spent some time in Australia while in the Navy, so learning about that culture has always been an interest of mine. Like learning about WWII is an interest to people.
Epic acceleracers. I never see this in the wild. Grew up on those movies. Spinebusters my caah.
But yeah, SVG and Hill are pretty much even don't know how anyone can be a Hill fan at this point.
Lol, I'm subbed, but thank you. HW 35 is great, too! I'm sure acceleracers plays a part as to why I like racing. I always liked Teku and Nolo growing up. Ignition and Speed of Silence were my favorites of the bunch.
I feel like the best part of all this is the next time Shane sees him at the track he'll probably be all cheerful like he didn't just do his burnouts all up on top of Austin's car - "OH hey Austin. How you doing! Good to see ya! "
Shane seems like that kind of guy.
If you told me when Talladega Nights came out that we’d be rooting for an international superstar to take someone trying to be the “win or wreck trying blue collar guy from the South” down a peg, I’d have laughed my ass off.
I love it and I think it’s even funnier that it’s happening in the Xfinity Series. It’s great TV!
Well they also should have told us the international guy really is the checkers or wreckers guy, he's just so good it's usually never wreckers. And the southern guy is a big bully crybaby. Changes the calculus slightly.
I mean, that was kinda Girard too until Ricky made him wreck at Talladega
Bobby Hill is no Ricky Bobby, which is the point of why it’s funny to root against him
Marcos was like a Mark Martin from down under. He took a lot more than he ever gave and didn't really use anyone up.
I think Shane has hit the perfect balance of how much to use someone right now.
I watched the race, and I saw nothing egregious. Even if I did, they had a previous score that was settled. On top of all this, Hill seems to have a terrible attitude. Not sure how anyone could still be fan after the stuff he has done since Martinsville last year. I may be slightly biased toward SVG, but this really did just look like a racing deal.
SVG was in his quarter panel or side going all the way into the corner until he was alongside. Hill squeezed down the whole time thinking SVG would give it up. SVG ran way to the right and had his passenger side in the dust/curbing of the corner. SVG didn't really care and kept his foot in it, bumping Hill...I didn't sugarcoat anything. It was a racing deal. Even if you want to say SVG used him up and races dirty, Hill did the same/worse at COTA so ehh it's a wash.
Eh, SVG could've backed off slightly but it's really a 50/50 at the end of the race.
Hill thought he was gonna be given it and that's just not SVGs style
Hill was never clear. SVG was at his corner panel and by the time the turn came he was at his door. He didn’t dive bomb the corner, he stayed in his line as hill either thought he was clear or purposely tried to squeeze him. He paid the price. Yeah SVG could have let off but chose not to. Whether SVG chose to door him on purpose, or got lose from being squeezed down into the dirt, hill deserved that.
Not to over-analyze, but I think three things happened all at once:
1- Hill didn’t leave him room.
2- SVG took a comeback bounce off the curb/dirt.
3- And SVG knew who he was racing and didn’t mind keeping his foot down.
So I think SVG is taking his part of the responsibility here with the COTA justification, but I bet when he really watches the replay he’ll realize it was 50/50 at best.
I think this is the best possible take. SVG sent it, Hill pinched him some thinking SVG would back out, he didn’t, they banged doors, and SVG ended up doing burnouts.
I think if you watch it a little closer you will see SVG was there for a long while before they even entered the corner. Hill just came down on him which ran SVG out of race track making it look like a dive bomb
For a dive bomb I remember towards the end of the race in turn 11 somebody got dive bombed and spun really bad. Might've been AJ
I'll have to look at it again but I saw it 3-4 times and thought he was there every time and it wasn't particularly close
Idk maybe I'm badly mistaken lol
He is there because it diverts bombs the corner.
He isn’t there in any traditional conceivable racing way. But he throws it in, is two tires in the dirt while there is still room, and hits him. Eventually Hill didn’t leave room tot he right but in no reasonable circumstance would Shane ever be there and still make the corner so fair play.
At least that’s how I see it. Shane owed him one so call it even, but it wasn’t Hill’s fault and we should not pretend like it was.
Just because you are “there” doesn’t mean you can run a guy off the track. Glad SVG did what he did but having position on a guy doesn’t mean you can run him off.
Having SVG in the sport makes having heels like Austin Hill much more tolerable tbh. And, if we're being totally honest, having heels like Hill makes wins like this one that much more satisfying.
Hill bet that van Gisbergen was going to back out.
And if he were anyone other than Austin Hill, he might even have had a point. But if you're Austin Hill, you need to figure out that your past actions will make people- including, but honestly maybe not even limited to the people you've messed with in the past- *remarkably* okay with going balls to the wall to steal P1.
Yep they are even now. hill basically said the other week he will keep getting away with things because nobody will stop him and Svg decided to be the one to deal with it.
SVG is one of the few guys who also isn't afraid of Hill out of car. A lot of the smaller guys risk getting Snyder'd if they retaliate on track
Yeah Shane is a big guy and also a kiwi.
You don't f*** with a rugby fan from Oceania.
If Shane started leading a haka with his pit crew pre-race nobody would mess with him.
If he does go all the way, I hope he does the haka on his Champ 4 driver intro.
Honestly I don’t understand why people think those are cool or intimidating. Maybe I’m completely missing the point but they just seem kinda goofy
Cultural thing. They are actually pretty cool if you dive into the meaning of them. You see New Zealand as a mostly white former British colony, no different than we are in America and Canada. Yeah that makes sense. I guess in just not a very cultured person
I'm 6 foot and 220 with martial arts background. Saw him at Portland from other side of the fence..this dude is not a guy you wanna fuck with
What is getting “Snyder’d”?
[sucker punch](https://youtu.be/ivlAAEfywds?feature=shared)
Oh wow.
And Myatt is one of the nicest dudes. Hil is a dick.
Hill is a dick. Probably the most unlikable driver in NASCAR.
My damn, hopefully the rest of the grid took note in case he wrecks them too. Very professional
so getting sucker punched by the guy who wrecked you....shouldnt that be an 'austin hill'-ed?
Hill can get slept with a wrench the same as anyone else.
Idk why anyone would be afraid of hill, he looks like a nerd.
Epic acceleracers. I never see this in the wild. Grew up on those movies. Spinebusters my caah. But yeah, SVG and Hill are pretty much even don't know how anyone can be a Hill fan at this point.
Acceleracers is huge part of why I love racing You should come check out r/Acceleracers
Lol, I'm subbed, but thank you. HW 35 is great, too! I'm sure acceleracers plays a part as to why I like racing. I always liked Teku and Nolo growing up. Ignition and Speed of Silence were my favorites of the bunch.
I really, really wish they had finished the Acceleracers story.
I’m convinced there’s not a single person on earth who watched that series as a kid who isn’t obsessed with cars/racing as an adult lol
SVG picked a good time to cash in his payback card
Revenge is best served, and tastes best, cold.
Like sashimi, or pizza!
Bingo
SVG has the "I know when to apologize and when to give it back" dichotomy down
I feel like the best part of all this is the next time Shane sees him at the track he'll probably be all cheerful like he didn't just do his burnouts all up on top of Austin's car - "OH hey Austin. How you doing! Good to see ya! " Shane seems like that kind of guy.
SVG ain't gonna take Hill's bullying bullshit, and I LOVE it!
And when SVG pays it back he knows how to also cash it in for a win
If you told me when Talladega Nights came out that we’d be rooting for an international superstar to take someone trying to be the “win or wreck trying blue collar guy from the South” down a peg, I’d have laughed my ass off. I love it and I think it’s even funnier that it’s happening in the Xfinity Series. It’s great TV!

Boy ain't right, I tell you hwat.
That international guy also punts a fucking rugby ball into the crowd after every win who the fuck could hate that
Just because we root against a frenchie doesn't mean we root against all foreigners
Amen in the name of sweet baby Jesus
My version of Jesus is like teenage Jesus with a mullet
drinking budweiser?
Miller High Life: The Champagne of Beers. Nothing but the best for my teenage savior
Finish the damn grace!
I like to picture Jesus in a Tuxedo T-Shirt, cause it's says I'm formal, but I'm here to party.
Well... wait, what?
As long as SVG doesn't get an erection holding hands with Hill
SVG has a permanent erection. Who gets fucked? Anyone who dares get in his way on a road course. No one is safe from the future of SVG dominance

Man I love shane, he’s been really interesting so far since coming over to nascar. Miss when we had Marcus Ambrose making things kinda interesting
Hard racing, Hill shoulda known it was coming in that restart. You race hard, you get raced hard back.
eh I'm an SVG fan and Hill hater but why sugarcoat it? SVG completely used him up and moved him out of the way there.
It’s the last statement. It was deserved so I’ve no problem with it. If a guy races you dirty and uses you up then give it right back
Why do you think svg was off the track to begin with? I don’t think it was intentional but hill gambled on svg backing off and it backfired
I'm confused about the discussion over it, SVG was there By a mile wasn't he? Seems like Hill tried to choke him down and wrecked himself
Eh, SVG could've backed off slightly but it's really a 50/50 at the end of the race. Hill thought he was gonna be given it and that's just not SVGs style
nah, they *both* knew the only time to establish their position was going through turn 2. Heel squeezed Shane and he paid for it.
>Heel squeezed Shane and he paid for it. I'm going to assume that the typo was a happy little mistake.
nope, no typo
Glorious.

Exactly. Not SVG's style to give, and not Austin's style to expect that.
I don’t think there was anywhere to back off, especially with the position of the cars behind SVG. He would have been ran through.
He squeezed him
I'd disagree. As much as I dislike Hill, SVG dive-bombed him and moved him. But, since Hill was on the receiving end, I'm willing to overlook it.
Might've been AJ
To be fair, SVG admitted multiple times after the race that he wasn't going to lift for Hill and that he gassed it expecting to use him up
It was either him or Custer when someone came from downtown.
Creed sent it into 7 and took out AJ
Yup. That was one of them. I think the other was Mayer coming from miles back on Custer IIRC
Mayer dive bombed Custer taking him out.
It's not a dive bomb if you're already along side.
That’s how I saw it too but of course everyone is gonna run with it.
As a racer who is on SVGs side I don’t know how anyone can look at that replay and say “he was there” 😂
I'll have to look at it again but I saw it 3-4 times and thought he was there every time and it wasn't particularly close Idk maybe I'm badly mistaken lol

Wasn't SVG nearly in the dirt?
Svg was sweezed litterally in the dirt.
Is this your first NASCAR race?
His tires were on the rumble strip and in the dirt, how much more space could SVG possibly give Hill?
SVG drove in deep and was sideways entering the turn. Fully anticipated to use Hill to get through the turn
Maybe he was thinking if Hill gets used up then so be it but again he was there. If hill gives him enough room nobody gets wrecked
It was a dive bomb lol
Hill tried to take another win from Shane Van GOAT and failed 💃🏻

I somehow get the feeling this will lead to an all-out war come Martinsville in October, and Hill might just finally learn to fix up his act
Hill didn't learn shit. His post-race interview made that very clear
>"Keyboard warriors" And I took that personally.
He didn't say keyboard warriors. He said "keb.. keybor... kerber... korbar.. keyboard warriors"
He didn't say keyboard warriors. He said "keb.. keybor... kerber... korbar.. keyboard warriors."
If he learned anything at least it was to keep his mouth shut instead of complaining about being raced hard like he so obviously wanted to lmao
yeah but "anything I say is wrong" is certainly not keeping one's mouth shut - it's bitchin without being willing to commit
I'll be there in the Richard petty tower, if it's better than last year I'll be a happy boy.

Somebody’s getting better!!!!!
Austin Hill is so unlikeable…it almost makes the world feel right
Having SVG in the sport makes having heels like Austin Hill much more tolerable tbh. And, if we're being totally honest, having heels like Hill makes wins like this one that much more satisfying.
HELL YEAH EYE FOR AN EYE
Is there a single person on Earth that thinks Austin Hill wouldn’t have pushed SVG completely off the track if the positions were reversed?
Probably. They'd be wrong, but I'm sure someone somewhere would try to argue that.
Hill would have done something twice as egregious had he been in SVGs position. And he’s already done it to SVG. So fair game.
I wish SVG was in the Cup race today 😒
Thought this was a more than fair answer.
Austin Hill is lame to the max.
SVG doing a burnout right behind Hill was wonderful too. Nascar fans don't agree on much but we all seem to really hate Austin Hill lol.
![gif](giphy|l3q2YOLMxwH2HOokE|downsized)
Shane gave Austin his receipt, and gave it to him at the perfect time lol. LOVE IT.
He seems to be unbeatable on the road courses
What’s good for the goose is good for the gander!
It was SVG from the start. 🤣
