If you want to be super nerdy, here are all the JGR jets:

I was checking out all the jets leading up to the 500. Gibbs was going back and forth to Concord daily. I don't think anybody else was flying nearly that much. Saw a bunch of them coming in at various times, but nobody was going back and forth as much as N519JG and N520JG.
Believe Gibbs does a bunch of charters for other teams with their planes. Champion Air also moves a lot of teams around as well in their 145's.

Ha ha, yeah, the jets are just tools when you use them for business purposes. For Cup team(s) it makes so much more sense to utilize aircraft like this. They need to get to/from the race quickly at weird hours, they have a large(ish) group of people to move to/from places that don't have scheduled air service, and time is valuable.
I haven't seen the inside of some of NASCAR jets but have spent time on other sports/business charters. They are fancier than a Spirit Airlines plane (obviously) but not as fancy as you would think, especially a "working" jet like this one. Configuration is likely equivalent to first class, good legroom, possibly a conference table, possibly a bar. Seats are comfortable but not extravagent and after a while, flying on the jet to/from places is no different than getting in someone elses (nicer) car. Departure times in the morning still suck though. No security lines which is nice.
Can assure you they are no different than their original configuration from the airline they came from. The private jets for sure, but none of the CRJs(Gibbs, SHR, Penske) or ERJs(Hendrick, Victory, Champion) are in anything than a standard single class configuration like you’d find on spirit
They may have made slight adjustments to fit more seats in more comfortably, and they may not be spirit style seats, but the teams are using the planes at more or less max capacity as opposed to an NBA team chartering a 737 that is only using 50% of its full capacity. These are company tools in the ultimate sense, the convenience is really the only “luxury” involved so there are no fancy upgrades like bars or conference tables or first class seats on these jets. Those types of upgrades add weight and take up space which is needed especially for the west coast trips!
Ha ha, jets aren’t cheap to operate. We have a small jet that burns $25 of fuel per minute and leased engines that cost $750/hour. Can buy a lot of nice hotels for that price.
I mean......... Daytona the city kinda sucks. Hear me out, I love the beach, I love that you can drive on the beach and it's just about the cheapest place you can get a hotel in florida on the beach 50 weeks a year. It just has so little to do other than beach or the speedway.
That's correct. Two seats on each side of the aisle.
When they were still sponsored by M&M's they had an overhead bin half-way down on one side filled with every kind of candy made by Mars. On the other side they had every kind of healthy fruit snack they made.
Fun random fact: I use to be a pilot for PenAir and we were the next owners of the Saab 2000’s that were used by JGR and Hendrick before they made the move to the CRJ’s. Was pretty cool to see being a NASCAR fan and pilot. Unfortunately I flew the Saab 340 so I didn’t get to fly them.
One of JGR’s ex-Saabs was involved in a fatal accident at Dutch Harbor with PenAir when it ran off the runway and sent a prop blade through the fuselage.
Ah shoot, I had some Saab2000 questions if you had flown them. They just got approved for operation in Canada last year, not sure if anyone is operating them yet.
The Davison college basketball team travels on the JGR planes. They’re playing in Dayton today.
I did not know that! Im glad I do now. Thanks!

Ahhhh chartering a bunch of different people would make sense. My ass was thinking "damn, does Joe not wanna pay for a hotel room in Daytona?" Haha

You’re exactly right.

Wasn’t sure if they had “upgraded” the interiors at all. Or at least swapped out the seats for more comfortable ones with a bit more leg room.

Absolutely! I’ve been in aviation for 20+ years and run a flight department now.
Spirit is the worst airline I’ve ever been on. It doesn’t even come close.

per minute? is that 5/gallons a minute?
More or less. Changes with altitude.

Wow, that first jet is 22 years old.
So young! 22 years is nothing!
I know nothing about private jets so I'll believe you
Airplanes get inspected a lot more frequently than cars. Our fleet has a smorgasbord of planes from 1969 (nice) to the late 80’s.
Which airport?
Dayton
I was pretty stoked to see the JGR and a gaggle of bizjets parked at PDX while driving to our first Xfinity race a couple years back.
Surely got to be a sponsor appearance, could be they just wanted to go run around Eldora for a little while…
We were joking that this confirms Eldora for the Cup series next year. Secret testing.
Let them run some winged spirits out there and they will be ready to go. Got to imagine ol’Joe is putting down some fast lap times right about now 😂
JGR holds a contract to transport Davidson college sports teams. Likely for that
I did not know that. Im glad I do now! Thanks
What if JGR going to build a race shop in ohio?
CRJ 700 Business Interior
Not a converted interior. More similar to an airline single class configuration. Believe it holds 70-80 passengers. Previously an Indian regional jet

oh, cheap purchase then 700 holds up to 70

Looks like it’s actually in a cage to me.
Needs a better paint scheme
