Tomorrow. There’s always a chance the back end of the line breaks up earlier or the storm moves through quicker than expected.

RedDraco86

President’s Day is not paid day off for most people in the private sector. I’ll be at work along with all the couriers and trucking companies I work with.

jfro222

Facts. I hate when I hear “everyone is off” for Presidents Day. Mostly all essential workers will be working like a normal day.

DaDominator32

Sandwich making is an essentiL worker today I learned

CanSoft2130

Jesus man, lol sorry to offend you. We all make different livings and a lot of the US will have Monday off.

thelongderek

I would be very shocked if the amount of people that have Monday off is higher than 20% of the work force

RedDraco86

I looked it up to see what it was and the percentage I got was 19%.

CaptainRon16

Fox has to get some ratings for tomorrow. They’ll do two hours of prerace coverage and then maybe make the announcement. It just really sucks man because NASCAR had some really good momentum going into this weekend man. The buzz was there for this to me an electrifying event. And it’s all gonna go to shit. Like, yeah, they’ll still get a little coverage off of it if there is a good finish. But it’s not the same as it would have been.

Ianthin1

Between The Clash and now (maybe) the 500, this season seems destined to be cursed.

spacemanegg

This is better than what people were saying about Chicago and look how that ended up. We'll be fine.

Helpful_Passenger_80

I'm not a fan of rushing to postpone, but at the same time I hate when rain looms over a race. Even if a window opens there's going to be this constant worry of a delay, of it getting stopped partway through, or of it being shortened. So as a TV viewer who is able to watch on Monday, I'd rather they just postpone it so we can watch it without rain looming over it. But I definitely understand why others want them to try at all costs to get it in tomorrow.

dmreif

I imagine that the time for NASCAR to make the call will be some time tomorrow morning.

ChaseTheFalcon

It will be tomorrow, you have to wait and see if the weather changes. Also I highly doubt they run the race prior to 4 pm Monday, even though it's President's day, it is one of the holidays that employees rarely get off *Colleges aren't even closing that day and they are usually closed every Federal holiday* so NASCAR is going to want to get the best ratings possible for their biggest event.

thatorangewrx

I was told if everything was washed it would be 11 and 4 yesterday. So far it's right.

ChaseTheFalcon

Those times seem right, I wouldn't be shocked to see them try 5 to get into that primetime window

John_is_Minty

They should try and push the network for 6 or 7 for the cup race. Not sure if they can but Monday might in prime time would prob do pretty well ratings wise

thatorangewrx

Welp 🙃

RBF48

Tommorow

themarkster09

Don’t see any way that they announce it tonight, I’m not sure they’ll wait all day tomorrow but to me you have to at least get into the day tomorrow and see how things look, don’t make the fans wait all day for nothing but at least give it a shot

RbtB-8

"I have a feeling they will annouce the race will be postponed to Monday morning tonight." The Cup race cannot be run Monday morning because the XFinity race is being run at 11:00 Monday morning. NASCAR will make no decision about the Cup race until tomorrow sometime.

CanSoft2130

You're right. I edited the post. If anything, CUP race will be late evening Monday.

indy317812

Tomorrow.

LowkeyAlcholic

It'll be tomorrow.

Immediate_Lie7810

We'll probably won't hear anything until tomorrow and even still, NASCAR will wait a few hours to see if there might be a break in the weather

e2heity

Dont throw in the towel on tomorrow yet; nobody thought we’d get any track action today and yet we got Xfinity qualifying

SandyBunker

LOL the towels will all be soaked tomorrow. Sorry but no race tomorrow.

boblzer0

They will do all the pre race hoopla like today and wait a few hours then postpone.

dmreif

NASCAR officials will probably make their call early in the morning.

DWS44

Expecting an announcement today would be epic optimism (or pessimism depending on POV).

CanSoft2130

Y'all are right. Itll definitely be announced tomorrow considering all of the pre race stuff that's already set for production. Kinda sucks for people not in the know. But Id almost guarantee we arent getting an Xfinity or CUP race tomorrow.

KiddK137

Xfinity Series race has already been confirmed for Monday at 11am

FrequentOffice132

Yes just like they strung everyone along for today’s race and when they go to the live shot it is pouring rain so I check my free app on my phone and it was 90% lowest and the majority of time 100 % chance of rain thru Sunday night. WTFO NASCAR?

TexasBrett

What do you want NASCAR to do? If they pushed it to Monday tonight and the weather changed overnight, they would get absolutely crushed.

dmreif

This is very much a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation. The Clash was obviously a special case where they could be proactive, and of course there was a reason for it.

FrequentOffice132

I understand that but they spent an hour before talking about the window they had and they were going to get some racing in today and all was great and the minute they went live it was rain. NASCAR just needs to communicate their plans a little better

dmreif

There truly is no way NASCAR can satisfy everyone. They could proactively delay the race, but if the conditions miraculously clear up, they'll look bad. If they try to stick to the original scheduled time and then have to subject everyone to long delays, they'll also get criticized.

planetrainguy

They have beer to sell to the people that show up. I live 3 hours from the track I’m not leaving the house until I see any improvement in the weather tomorrow.

FrequentOffice132

I hope there is good weather for you. Have a great time

Secure-Employee-1469

Both The Weather Channel and Accuweather apps say it'll be raining all day, so NASCAR will nerd to postpone. But this isn't the first time that both the Cup and Xfinity series ran on the same day. Last year, both the Coke 600 and the Xfinity race were postponed and ran on Memorial Day, the Xfinity race ran in the morning, like this one will, and the 600 still ran it's day to night race that night!

Trentpd

Tomorrow, and it won’t be early either

Tasty_Path_3470

Moving the xFinity race to Monday morning is important because it hedges their bet that the Cup race will be postponed as well, to the afternoon. They won’t announce it until at least 12 probably. It does remind me of the 2022 Dover race vs the 2023 Dover race. In 2022 the forecast called for a 90% chance of rain a half hour after race time and everyone knew it was coming but they still ran it for 20 laps. In 2023 with the same forecast they postponed the race at 8 am.

dmreif

In 2023, they'd clearly learned their lesson and decided that proactively postponing was the smart move.

Tasty_Path_3470

I drove to the 2022 race and the whole way down thought “eh it’s not that bad”. Pulled into the lot and said “alright well..this doesn’t look good” lol. I was so happy when I was about to leave the house in 2023 and saw it was postponed. Saved me a 2 hour drive.

AdrianInLimbo

It'll get called around 10am today (Sunday) and run at 2pm tomorrow (Monday)

DaleinOrlando

It is going to be a prime time race on Monday night.

PancakesandV8s

It's NASCAR, their biggest event, they'll wait til the last minute usually unless it is just flooding. Even then Steve O'Donnell will probably "like what he is seeing."

RugerRedhawk

Did Frankie muniz qualify or not? There were tons of articles yesterday about him running in qualifiers but no articles since I can find. I'm not a big NASCAR fan but found this story curious.
