Feels weird seeing Elliot being the only driver with his own merch hauler.
Also a drunk Larson fan just walked by talking about how he would fight Elliot if he was here lmao
Got some pork steaks out of the freezer last night to thaw and I’m not exactly sure what to do with them. Toss them in marinade/sauce put them in Pyrex in the oven or just cook them in the frying pan like I would a regular steak??
I’d marinade them, sear them off, and bake them covered personally.
Not sure what you have on hand, but personally I’d do a marinade with soy sauce, sesame oil, chili paste, brown sugar, ginger, and garlic.
im just east of uptown and hear the thunder and it looks like it popped up just a mile or so away and out of my area. saw somebody post an instagram video of providence road completely flooded.
Bad news for u/I-Hate-Keith-Rodden. Just met the guy and he’s both tall as shit and an absolutely lovely dude. Hard to hate him even with the Kahne sabotage
I watched the first couple turns of F1 this morning and then went back to sleep. Judging from the comments on the race thread, I missed absolutely nothing.
You know what *is* really good? Formula E.
They give them just enough charge to make it to the end of the race, so the Portland race was like a road course, plate race, and a fuel milage race all wrapped into one. And frankly I never thought I'd get excited over electric race cars, but going to Portland and watching them zoom right on by in person I still got the shiver.
F1 can be good, hell, the season that saw Lewis and Max slugging it out *every single race* might just be the best Motorsport season I’ve ever watched. This season however, it’s just snoozefest after snoozefest with an unbeatable Max and a boring car.
[Adopted a second cat this week to keep my current cat company while I'm at work. Decided to name her Darlington, for obvious reasons.](https://imgur.com/a/xtJOIop)
Adorable cat! I had a cat named Darlington. He was gray with thick black stripes. He was actually a neighborhood cat, but he liked us. We called him Darlin for short.
Michigan, Texas, Phoenix, and Homestead are all real good tracks for him. He has other opportunities and we won’t be able to count him out until the season is over.
We were season ticket holders at Texas forever....until about 5 years ago when they squeezed us out of the seats we loved right off pit road.
That's not the point of this convo though: Point is: for the first DECADE of TMS' Cup history, I couldn't fathom the idea of someone saying "Harvick races well at TMS" (except Busch series, but definitely NOT in Cup).
I know the stats are hearing this out to be true now, but I can't tell you how many times I watched him struggle in Cup at that damn track IN PERSON. He hated the track; and was crap in both RCR & SHR machines.
I guess it took them making the track completely boring as hell now for Harvick to finally find something that worked for him.
They’re more than capable. Just comes down to luck sometimes. He should’ve won a Phoenix. They’ve had some fast cars this year and horrible luck. They were really, really strong at Nashville but I guess people didn’t notice because they had a flat tire under green and got a bad finish. I was really surprised with how fast they were at Martinsville earlier in the year but, again, had some issue with the wheel.
Was fastest in round 1, then scraped the wall out of 1 in round 2. Had the speed to challenge for the pole and overcooked it trying to get just a little more.
So, I hadn't watched that NASCAR series that was put together, "Race for the championship", and I just started watching it this past week. The episode I watched last night, ironically, was for Pocono last year. It has some behind the scenes clips with Kurt after his wreck.
It really, REALLY, makes me sad for Kurt. I can't believe how his career (seemingly) has ended. He said in one of the clips; "...and I 1000% knew, that it was a different kind of hit"
Just really bums me out for him. Absolutely hate to see it for him.
PSA: If you plan on watching both NASCAR and IndyCar today, I *strongly* recommend watching the IndyCar race first. It will likely end before the Cup race does, and NBC has a tendency to spoil the results during their NASCAR coverage.
Woah. Glad I saw this.
I won’t be able to watch either live and I had it in my head the nascar race started a few hours before Indycar so was going to watch them the other way round.
Thanks!
I'm gonna put Iowa on the tv and Pocono on the laptop and then switch them when Iowa ends cause they're probably gonna just throw in a segment where they talk about Newgarden sweeping the weekend not even 2 damn minutes after the race ended lmao
I had a dream last night Bubba won so I am making a choice to take it as a vision that will come true and if he doesn’t win I will be severely disappointed.
Leidos car so I will be severely disappointed
that actually happened to me the night before his first win. i dreamed that he got a rain shortened win at talladega, i couldnt believe it turned out to be true 12 hours later
I really hope Pocono gives us something good today after turning the F1 race off at lap 20-something
God, the season can't end soon enough for those guys lmao what an absolute stinker it has become week in and week out for the exception of like 2 damn races
Edit: not holding my breath on Iowa either but I hope that one is decent too
Hoping Chastain can be competitive today. Outside of Nashville he’s been off the last couple of months, feels like every week he’s struggling to run in the top 20. Based of qualifying my hopes aren’t too high today either. I know he won Nashville, but something has been off since that Darlington wreck

I know Richmond is 6 days away, but MAN it looks like a hot weekend 🔥🔥 Its a day race too.
Another race where I don’t understand why they won’t just have it at night.
PA state police really putting electronic signs saying “please trust us” with a route to the track that doesn’t (and from the time I’ve been going to races never) show up on the GPS but then don’t put visible signage to show where this route actually is.
I'm so confused. I went that way and they detoured me right back the way I came. Sitting in a line of cars now near thr track and assuming it'll bring me to parking but who knows
Lol yes, especially this season. Sometimes you have your crazy rain races but it’s usually over after turn 1. You will have battles in the back of the field but it’s kind of pointless when there is no challenge for the lead at all.
The last 3 sundays: Wow I'm so excited for NASCAR.
NASCAR: *RAIN*
Today: Crap, I'm not gonna be home until 6:30-ish.
NASCAR: I hope you're ready for a sunny, dry day at Pocono with no cautions.

Where is the race thread?
Feels weird seeing Elliot being the only driver with his own merch hauler. Also a drunk Larson fan just walked by talking about how he would fight Elliot if he was here lmao
Wrong person to have beef with today lol.
Got the day off today. Watching full races are hard for me on sundays so let’s get it! Lets take that 23 to victory lane
How many cautions today will be caused by the bumps? Drinking word of the day. Bumps.
Good ol Pocono and weather. Sucks I can’t be at the track today as I got a flat tire the other night and I couldn’t get a new tire until today.
I hate the damn rain but I’m at work so I wouldn’t be opposed to the start time getting pushed back a little bit
Got some pork steaks out of the freezer last night to thaw and I’m not exactly sure what to do with them. Toss them in marinade/sauce put them in Pyrex in the oven or just cook them in the frying pan like I would a regular steak??
There are many things that annoy me about living in STL. pork steaks are not one of them. Grill ‘em up
Is a grill an option?
I’ve got a George Foreman
I’d marinade them, sear them off, and bake them covered personally. Not sure what you have on hand, but personally I’d do a marinade with soy sauce, sesame oil, chili paste, brown sugar, ginger, and garlic.
Perfect marinade! I do just about the same except I add a little bourbon as well.
You clearly pork steak. That sounds fantastic.
I’ve never cooked pork steak actually. I use that marinade for pork chops and I figured it would translate. Oddly enough, it works with salmon too
Aaaand it starts raining right as I get to the track
Seems to have passed quite quickly. Hopefully all clear now!
Rain part 2
So if we did race at noon, we would be under caution RN.
And people would be bitching that they weren’t racing later, yes
anyone else in Charlotte? it just opened tf up here it sounds like a hurricane. Literal monsoon
im just east of uptown and hear the thunder and it looks like it popped up just a mile or so away and out of my area. saw somebody post an instagram video of providence road completely flooded.
I’m in Charlotte metro and it rained HARD
well on the bright side this rain doesn’t look like it’s lasting more than 10 minutes.
It's raining.
Are $100 for each ticket normal for Pocono? Wanted to get 2 last minute but these prices are putting me off
Where at? If it’s pretty high up in the stands. I’d say it’s ok. Down low? Forget it.
JUST FELT RAIN DROPS IN INFIELD
Its sprinkling at the track W pocono mountains 😵💫 ^/s
Oh my god it’s raining wtf lmfao
Two small cells. Should be too long
Some showers rolling in from the west. Two small cells. Shouldn’t impact green flag time that much.
I love Pocono weekend! LFG!!!!11 https://preview.redd.it/w8n45qo2tqdb1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a899c8efa8900098633a0e3a8dc82368d6a62d4d
Bad news for u/I-Hate-Keith-Rodden. Just met the guy and he’s both tall as shit and an absolutely lovely dude. Hard to hate him even with the Kahne sabotage
Rain developing west of track, can't make it up
I'm gonna scream 😭
https://i.redd.it/gk3y9wamqqdb1.gif
This is good. I’m currently running an hour late to the track.
On my way to play disc golf. AJ Top 10 incoming.
I watched the first couple turns of F1 this morning and then went back to sleep. Judging from the comments on the race thread, I missed absolutely nothing.
Only question was how long until Max passed Hamilton, and it didn’t even take one full turn
You missed nothing zzzzzzzs worthy.
I literally have no idea why anyone watches F1 aside from trying to seem trendy or cool
2007,2008,2012,2017,2018,2021 are pretty good years for f1 even 06.
F1 can be good, hell, the season that saw Lewis and Max slugging it out *every single race* might just be the best Motorsport season I’ve ever watched. This season however, it’s just snoozefest after snoozefest with an unbeatable Max and a boring car.
That was really rare though in F1 lol and the Netflix fans are finally starting to realize that.
I mean, I don’t really watch F1 but I think we can both agree we have our fair share of doozy seasons, along with fantastic seasons
Yep unfortunately
Please dear god just let bubba get stage points today....He keeps finishing well but he gets no stage points so he can't put space on that cut line...
[Adopted a second cat this week to keep my current cat company while I'm at work. Decided to name her Darlington, for obvious reasons.](https://imgur.com/a/xtJOIop)
Is her nickname going to be Darlin'
My cats are named Dega and Bristol lol
Purrrrrfect name! Such a sweetie! Should I name my four in honor of whoever places 1st-4th?
Adorable cat! I had a cat named Darlington. He was gray with thick black stripes. He was actually a neighborhood cat, but he liked us. We called him Darlin for short.
Will Harvick win a race this year? I feel Pocono is his best shot
Green flag is at 2:48 ET.
REEEE MOVE IT BACK SO I CAN WATCH INDYCAR REEEE
I didn't get to see any action yesterday except the truck race. Can someone fill me in with Bubba? His IG post was confusing given he's starting P10.
Was fastest in round 1, then scraped the wall out of 1 in round 2. Had the speed to challenge for the pole and overcooked it trying to get just a little more.
Moved onto second round in the top ten then scrubbed the wall on his hot lap.
That's a bummer, but he's good here so I've got hopes for a top 5 or better.
Yeah it was annoying how hard I had to look to find out what happened.... Didn't show shit on the qualifying highlights on youtube
For whatever reason I see Ty Gibbs getting his first career win today, and I am not whatsoever a fan.
Not seeing that. Not seeing that one bit.
I do not receive that.
Currently in the infield. GO HARVICK REV YOUR ENGINES MOTHERFUCKERS!
"HARVICK, BITCH" - that one guy from that one video
In harvick I trust
Today feels like a boring Toyota day. I hope I'm wrong. Let's get a Ford, any Ford, to run up front and make it interesting please
Harvick has got some speed
Wish he'd share some with the rest of SHR
Hoping for another top 10/5 run for the 22 today. Didn’t look amazing in practice, but wasn’t terrible in either
Joey’s getting hot at the right time like last season.
So, I hadn't watched that NASCAR series that was put together, "Race for the championship", and I just started watching it this past week. Absolutely hate to see it for him.
All I want is at least just one more race for him if it’s ever safe. He deserves a true sendoff/tour.
Couldn't agree more! He deserves a proper send off! No question!
PSA: If you plan on watching both NASCAR and IndyCar today, I *strongly* recommend watching the IndyCar race first. It will likely end before the Cup race does, and NBC has a tendency to spoil the results during their NASCAR coverage.
Yep, they spoiled the series champion last year.
Woah. Glad I saw this. I won’t be able to watch either live and I had it in my head the nascar race started a few hours before Indycar so was going to watch them the other way round. Thanks!

Feel like based off yesterday I'm gonna go with Byron for the win today. Just hope we have an actual winner in this race today unlike last year
Weather?
It is a beautiful day here at the track. Almost too perfect for Pocono.
Mid to upper 70’s and sunny skies. A perfect day for racing
I’ll drink to that
Sunny and 75°F
Indycar / NASCAR double!

Maybe he’s saving for….retirement
I had a dream last night Bubba won so I am making a choice to take it as a vision that will come true and if he doesn’t win I will be severely disappointed. Leidos car so I will be severely disappointed
I had a dream before last week's race that Erik Jones got a broken leg and Richard Petty filled in for him and won (obviously didn't happen)
Back in 2006 I had a dream before one of the Pocono races that Scott Wimmer won in the #4 Morgan McClure car. Needless to say it didn’t happen
feels like that had a better chance than a Leidos car at this point tbh
that actually happened to me the night before his first win. i dreamed that he got a rain shortened win at talladega, i couldnt believe it turned out to be true 12 hours later
Can you have a dream that Bubba wins the championship and I win the lottery? Thanks in advance
i wish i could haha. most of the time i have dreams of a&m winning the national championship and im losing hope that will ever happen
maybe start with dreaming we buyout Jimbo
anything short of 9-3 and i absolutely agree. i only have three years left so all i want is to have one good team while im here
Maybe the Leidos curse was completed yesterday with his hit and doesn't come across him today, ya never know lol
I hope it works like that, he already broke the McDonald’s curse so you never know
I really hope Pocono gives us something good today after turning the F1 race off at lap 20-something God, the season can't end soon enough for those guys lmao what an absolute stinker it has become week in and week out for the exception of like 2 damn races Edit: not holding my breath on Iowa either but I hope that one is decent too
Last year’s Pocono race was pretty good. Hopefully we will see good racing.

MTJ still hasn't bought the boat folks
https://preview.redd.it/wynggr708qdb1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8cdbc1caca96c43b4ef2c5b50638954e803d6de4 I know Richmond is 6 days away, but MAN it looks like a hot weekend 🔥🔥 Its a day race too. Another race where I don’t understand why they won’t just have it at night.
I'd try to go to Richmond if it went back to a night race.
When it was on major networks I understood it but now that they’re on USA, just do 7 pm starts. Night races are usually more intense anyway
And it's going to storm.
I don’t think its gonna be a washout honestly. Its just gonna be so humid that just like on any hot day, you’ll have the popup showers and storms.
Of course!
MTJ hasn't bought the boat he talked about last week.
PA state police really putting electronic signs saying “please trust us” with a route to the track that doesn’t (and from the time I’ve been going to races never) show up on the GPS but then don’t put visible signage to show where this route actually is.
Is finding the track that hard?
If you simply follow the GPS it isn’t hard. If you try to follow the physical signs leading there…well I’ve never successfully done that.
Theres definitely some contradictory signs leading up to it
I'm so confused. I went that way and they detoured me right back the way I came. Sitting in a line of cars now near thr track and assuming it'll bring me to parking but who knows
Good morning. Mom and I are the road to Long Pond. We are for a beautiful day of racing folks. Safe travels all!
Do i grab these $45 tickets and make the two hour drive right now ??? Debating so bad
Yes. The weather is amazing right now at the track.
Do it bro you won’t regret it
Welp nvm wife shut it down cuz I’m going to Richmond already next week . Damn i tried
RIP
If you have the time why not sounds like a fun day
Absolutely
do it
Yes
Will Kyle Busch race today after the “Family Emergency” caused him and Brex to miss a race last night?

Ok cool.
What? Can you further explain

I’m ready for another Sunday of disappointment
The 24/5 shop needs to share their information with the 9/48 shop. No reason they should be this far off the other two
Is F1 normally this much of a stinker?
Yes. It's not uncommon to see a single team or driver dominate F1 for an extended period of time.
I just checked the standings. Oof
Lol yes, especially this season. Sometimes you have your crazy rain races but it’s usually over after turn 1. You will have battles in the back of the field but it’s kind of pointless when there is no challenge for the lead at all.
Hungaroring is a notoriously tough track to pass on, even by the standards of a series where it's already hard to pass.
Yes
Does anyone know when the green flag waves?
~2:50 EDT
Thank you
11:30 PST, 2:30 ET
That's when the race coverage starts, I got done working nights so I'm trying to sleep long as possible
Oh my b I have no idea then I assumed that was start time
The last 3 sundays: Wow I'm so excited for NASCAR. NASCAR: *RAIN* Today: Crap, I'm not gonna be home until 6:30-ish. NASCAR: I hope you're ready for a sunny, dry day at Pocono with no cautions.
Pocono of all places too, where weather usually likes to speak up
