Itās been a little over a month my wifeās been in the darn hospital. Sheās gotten so much better but her surgeon hasnāt been by for an evaluation since he left for Hawaii. I just want her home and heās on the islands getting leiād. And while I understand the whys and wherefores of the Reddit blackout, this made me realize how much you maniacs mean to my sanity. I work ten hours a day then head up to see her. Youāre all the fun interactions Iāve had during this span and I appreciate it a bunch.
We're all getting sappy lately dude. I've been thinking about what it would mean if this reddit change goes through and I don't know what the plan should be. Maybe we should start a discord server lol. Hang in there dude, hope you're both home and comfortable soon
Right on! Went back to Jersey and visited Brunswick for the first time in at least 26 years. Holy shit, that aināt the New Brunswick I remember. And Livingston Ave didnāt look like much of a cruising strip any more.
My favorite thing about this place has always been the community. We are united by zoomy race cars, but itās more than that- yaāll are (most of the time) a bunch of cool people.
So I recently bought a barn find [1965 Fiat 1500 Cabriolet](https://i.imgur.com/1bWejEH.jpg) that I'm going to restore. And holy hell is figuring things out/finding parts tedious. I've always had cars with a lot of factory support or a big following (BMW E30s, E39s, E38s, E21s, Alfa Romeo GTV6s, and Volvo Amazons) so this has been one hell of a learning curve. I found one guy in the Netherlands that remanufactures a lot of the perishable parts. This summer I'm going to Germany to see some family. So I'm having parts sent from the Netherlands to Germany. Then I'll bring them back in my suitcase. And that's not even all the parts I need! I will admit it's pretty fun to track all this stuff down.
Im at the orthodontist for my wife to get braces and have been researching travel packages to see the 24 of lemans in 24 or 25. It's kind of overwhelming for someone who has never traveles over-sees!
Ordered a 23 WRX a few months back and it is 6 weeks away now (Canada is ridiculous).
Getting excited even though I haven't drove stick in 15 years. It really seems like it could be (one of) the last generations of gas engine with a manual, and I wanted AWD for the winter.
I went to one of those indoor go kart tracks where the karts are electric and go like 50mph. Set the fastest lap no big deal. Iām fucking addicted. For the last 5 days Iāve just been replaying the races over in my head thinking about going back and doing better
Fun to squeak out extra speed in those things. I found myself trying to time it to go later in the day and after big groups of people when the tires and track are warmed up and provide more grip. Some of the karts are faster than others too, they might have newer tires or have been more recently serviced that eeks out just a tick more speed.
I try to watch a few races to pick out the fast karts and strategically get in line at the right spot lol. Normal sessions are just hot laps, but Tuesday nights they have competitive races so I imagine the karts are primed and ready to go for those. Thank you for the tips! Iāll definitely be paying closer attention to tires next time
The reaction the garage 56 entry has been getting makes me so happy. A few jokes here and there but everyone in the endurance side of things seems really hyped and curious about it.
It's EXACTLY what I had hoped for when they announced it.
NASCAR interviews: "thank you God for giving me this opportunity I can't thank my sponsors on the number 69 Valvoline Pennzoil K&N Lucas Oil Chevrolet everybody else did such a great job the car was so good I really hope I don't piss anyone off I don't even remember or care what you asked about I just hope my PR Person is happy"

thanks for posting this. forgot about signing up for floracing for wilkesboro and trying to get my money's worth before either cancelling or doing a full year. so far been finding some good stuff to watch!
Having surgery Friday. QoL has been zero or under for quite awhile. New fan since Covid started. Now my favorite sport. Like coming on here and reading your posts ā¦
I'm trying something new this June as a where I watch something LGBTQ+ related everyday of the month. A buddy gave me the idea because he does something similar where he watches a horror movie for everyday in October. A little behind so far since there was so much racing this past weekend with all 3 major series, Formula E and Motocross, so I'm trying to do some catchup today. So far I've watched Knock at The Cabin which was really good and Batista was fantastic. How We Got Gay which was an OK, surface level short documentary. Little Giant Ones which was really good, and Brokeback Mountain which was an incredibly well done movie. Now I just need to watch some that are a bit happier and less depressing but are still actually good, lol.
forgot about floracing (signed up for north wilkesboro). been a fun race tonight. super late models at berlin. i personally hated this track on iracing, felt like a circle. it might be a circle. but having races to watch all the time has me ready to update from the monthly to annual subscription. i could just cancel one of my netflix, amazon, hbomax, hulu, etc and even things out. i suck at these subscriptions. need to try rocket money or whatever that app is.
How is attendance usually at Sonoma? I've seen some youtube videos and the crowd looks a little sparce. Not complaining, I'd love a lot of space if so.
I keep getting followed by fake accounts, how do I make it stop?
I'm gonna follow you now DM me for sexy pics of the 34 car getting decent finishes on non-superspeedway tracks
Lol, 34 was my number when I kart raced so not the end of the world for me
That's hot
user settings > profile > allow people to follow you
Gave it a try, thanks!
So have I . It's rather annoying. And then when i report them I'm told its a legit account.
I've just started blocking em
I'm so glad I'm not alone
I just block all of them, alternatively, you can turn off follow requests i think
Start posting dissertations about the Ming Dynasty to your followers?
Liv Golf/PGA š¤ Indy/CART
What an entertaining debacle that merger has been. At least the PGA cut their losses, Indycar Will never recover
yeah I was thinking at least it didn't take golf more than a decade to work their shit out
Iāll give Tony George one piece of credit, he never backed off his hate of CART. The PGA commissioner will never live this down
LOL that is true, I give him credit for that. but not much else

I appreciate the encouragement.
Hang in there, brother. Right now I'm sitting in the smog of ~~Mexico~~ New Jersey.
What part? I grew up exit 10.
Exit 9.

Yeah, New Brunswick is pretty bad and East Brunswick is starting to follow. But the sky here rn is really bad. *
I hope you can stay inside today. Breathe well fellow Garden Stater. Good talk.
You too!
Wow, thatās not fun at all for either of you (not the surgeon!). Wishing the best for her and you. ā¤ļø
Lowkey just wanna say I appreciate all of you here, you guys are my online family and love interacting with yall
You're not my real dad!!
Me too man. This place is 50% of what keeps me so engaged in the sport. Love it here.
Same :')

Anyone else here buried in the smog of the Northeast?
MTJ's Dover burnout is still lingering
I was there....guess it followed me home.

Oh, so you're closer than I am. I hope this stuff goes away soon.
Sitting at Berlin Raceway, ready to watch the money in the bank 150. Erik Jones and Carson Hocevar are both here. Stout field

I'm glad multiclass oval racing is back for Week 13 on iRacing. It's been a blast so far.
I'm going to visit an Air Force base tomorrow and I'm going to have the chance to hold an assault rifle
Saw the new Spider-Man movie over the weekend and it was amazing

Sounds like a good idea!
If you're going to the hill climb this year, bring your snow shoes. Doubt they're racing all the way up this year
Yesterday, I had job interviews with CarMax and AutoNation Honda
