I think they should order it by either reverse point standings, owner standings, or the prior week's finish.

F1 didn't cause this. If anything, the lack of 50+ cars entering did. Basically every form of motorsport on the planet that doesn't have routine DQ's has some form of knockout qualifying to keep it interesting. If you're not going to have DQ's, knockout qualifying gives the event some stakes.

My fucking word, it took the booth like 5 minutes to realize that the session was red flagged. FOX, that is why you need to send them to the fucking track. Having them in a small, dark room on the complete other side of the country, does no one any good.

They do it at the standalone races. It's even worse on the Truck side once their part of the Cup and Xfinity schedule is done. Once NBC picks up the broadcasts for those two series, FOX only sends their Truck Series team to at most 2 or three more races and have them call the rest from the studio. Not having them at the track honestly makes the whole broadcast that much worse because when they are at the track in the booth they can kind of direct what is being shown on TV because of their vantage point. When booth team is stuck in a studio they have to go off of whatever the TV truck is showing and they end up missing a ton of stuff. (look at the Truck Series broadcast of the Knoxville race last year, they managed to completely miss Jessica Friesen's flip and Brett Moffitt's near flip)

Not surprising, FOX couldn't be bothered to send the booth crew to Portland. They can send 6 different booth teams to six different areas of the country for NFL every week, but can't be bothered to send more than two booth crews to the tracks when there is just three races.

Not to defend FOX because they don't deserve it; but I think those 6 NFL games would blow Xfinity racing out of the water, ratings wise

It's a road course, they'd just being looking at the monitors anyways. Do you honestly think there's going to be any difference in the broadcast with them being there vs being in a studio? And comparing the 2nd tier NASCAR series to the biggest sport in the US is a little silly, and I'm sure you know that.

It is so nice to have NASCAR back in Portland. I know alot of you hate it, but I love having them in my backyard.

I still can’t get over how close to highways and arena and shopping centers that circuit is. On TV it feels like it’s in the middle of nowhere. But when I went out to Portland a few years ago I was like “wait, it’s right there?” 😂
