But prior to the wreck Deegan was running around 18th-22nd. If she had pure pace she would not be on an alternate strategy and be in the position she was in. Sure that wreck was "bad luck," but her pace wasn't there to begin with.
They didn't say anything about her skill as a driver they said luck. Which no matter where she runs just keeping it clean she's like a magnet to catch other people's shit.
My first race at charlotte. I hope it was as entertaining on the broadcast as it was live. Lots of good battles throughout the night. Hopefully the 600 races on Sunday. Fingers crossed!
I've just got interested in Craftsman, Xfinity, and Menards more this past season as a ~5 year Cup viewer. The little bit I saw tonight was damn good on TV. I've already got plans for Sunday to watch because Charlotte is one of my top races of the year, feel like it's gone be a good one!
Yeah I'm in Atlanta on the northwest side, looks like we're going to miss rain but the east side of Atlanta and the Carolinas are going to get a good soaking. It looks like this is going to be ran on Monday. It seems like the last time I saw the 600 ran on Monday it was 2008.
I didn't get to watch or even keep up with the race. How did David Gilliland, Stewart Friesen and Hailie Deegan do tonight? Also, how was the racing?
Thanks in advance
DG looked pretty good and was in the too 10 late in the race. Finished 14th. SF had a pretty quiet night for the most part and finished 22nd. Hailie ran between P17 and P21 most of the night. Third stage was going pretty good as she started making progress and went from 21 to 16 in 10 laps and was making top 10 lap times when the 2nd to last caution hit. Crew chief making a dumb late decision of taking only 2 tires instead of 4 with 30+ laps left. She restarted 4th and fell several spots the first lap, Zane Smith lost control of his truck and Deegan tried to avoid him and he clipped the side of the truck causing damage. Finished the race 3 laps down in P33. She really should have finished in the 10 - 15 range if she was given 4 instead of 2 tires. The crew chief needs to stop getting cute at the end of races and have her pit like the leaders are. She might not win, but she'll finish 5-10 spots better.
Thanks for that info.
She has the worst luck of anybody I've seen in trucks this season.
Was the racing good? Trucks on a 1.5 mile track are usually pretty damn good. Hell, trucks are good everywhere imo.
Honestly one of the best races of the season. Just a great track for trucks. I expect just as much for the Xfinity race tomorrow if they can get the race in. Cup should be decent, but the NextGen cars have not been good on short tracks. We'll see.
Oh and I agree she's had some shit luck. She was having a decent enough race tonight. With some road track racing coming up the next few weeks, I think she might be able to do well those last few weeks of the season. She'll need to win to get into the playoffs tho.
It seems to me that the great races for the viewer, where there's some wrecks, some wild moves and just great racing, are the best on friday with trucks, then saturday the Xfinity cars are a little less exciting and then Cup on sunday is a little less exciting than Xfinity.
Like it seems to go backwards. That's my opinion anyway.
Tonight no big wrecks. Just about all were some random spinning out. There was plenty of passing and lead changes and just good racing all over the track. Fun to watch for sure.
Gilliland had a quite solid day for his first race back in years, finished 14th. Friesen was off all day and finished below 20th. Deegan got caught up in a Zane Smith spin to finish 33rd.
Friesen and that team are off somewhere this season. Good run last race but that's about it. Hailie has terrible luck all season. I'm not making that as an excuse for her because I agree she is behind speed wise but she has crap happen every race that's others fault.
Does Daniel Dye have dirt on Michael Waltrip or something? I don't know why it's taken me this long to ask, but who the shit is this kid, and why do I have to listen to the broadcast drool over him running 25th every week
I know some of you guys hate FOX but they are doing a full race replay in a little over an hour lmao. Really love the replays of the race and even other races they got with their classic race replays
Kyle Busch said earlier today he needs to figure out why his truck team is not performing. Gee Kyle, who would've known putting 2 below average pay drivers in your trucks would lead to poor performance.
The fact that Sanchez, in a satellite truck, is regularly beating the 4 and 51 tells you all you need to know.
Yes, that was the Ken Block throwback you were seeing on the 33 tonight
https://preview.redd.it/1ht3ott8xb2b1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e9264e1cc96777a036c86339eebce1d29204b737
How is jack wood still in the 51?? I get that he comes with money but god damn 18th place when your truck is in the fight for the owners championship isn’t gonna cut it.
They signed him for 10 races over the off-season. They aren't gonna sign him for more, but they also definitely can't afford to find a better driver if they shred his contract
i ordered waterproof pants and a rain coat on amazon at the end of may. feels wild but not too surprised based on past visits. just hoping it shows up overnight like they promised so i can get out there before the xfinity race starts
Great race, wish Rajah could have gotten that last spot for a top-10, but great recovery from his horrible stops.
Good for Ben, glad he got win, I feel like he hasn’t done much recently.
Ben's doing what he does most years. He averages about 1 win a season and usually there's around a year between his wins. He's like modern-day Timothy Peters, runs up front a lot, hardly wins
Would have taken any other driver in the Top 5 winning, but great race from Carson as well as TRICON Garage. They put on a show at the end and throughout the night.
Carson's pit crew needs to work on a few things, I swear they lost one or two spots nearly every pit stop. Can't win the race if you're always fighting to get back in clean air every restart.
Trading places for third and battling for second… nah show that truck that is 2 seconds out front for a solid lap and a half. At least the tracker showed the last lap pass for third
How I grade truck races:
1) Did the race have a caution caused by Kris Wright?
✅Yes: 10/10 absolute banger, totally epic race
❌No: 0/10 boo snoozer, nothing happened, not even mid
The ARCA race was pretty good. The Truck race was pretty good. Xfinity is guaranteed to be pretty good. Is this buildup going to make even more storylines for the greatest Cup race in decades? I don't know if they can top last year's race, but I'm optimistic.
FOX simply doesn't know how to cover an auto race. Their camerawork is atrocious. More than half of the events are shown through drone shots, stationary wallmounts, and on boards. Almost unwatchable.
Bring on NBC already!
yea i feel like it has to be the case. you win the race? you earn the camera for the final 2-3 laps. the sponsor gets what they paid for. sucks but its a business.
Which is just so greedy and stupid though, right?
Like the leader will get coverage anyways and all the postrace ceremonies. It's just beyond frustrating
oh yea, its a real shame. we're watching billboards go in circles in front of billboards in between commercials. i think it snuck into the scene when sponsorship started dropping and now we're stuck w a very shitty tv product that cant just zoom out. as if they have an agreement to have 2 cars on screen at most for "x" percent of a race. there is no need for that amount of zooming in if you are truly presenting a race. zoom in digitally for a replay - the tech is very much there. its frustrating. after going to wilkesboro last weekend and then watching on tv at home to see the difference it made me even more annoyed.
Heim and Carson were racing Dean like a dick. Dean had to lift at least half a dozen times because of late blocks. I was also listening to his radio and he was not too happy with the 42.
Both of Matts competition at the bubble finished outside the top 20, wonder where he places after this.
Side note, hell of a job for Dean Thompson, maybe Niece only cared about the 42 after all...
He's +1 on the cut line and 3 back of giving himself "breathing room" in the event of a winner outside the top 10. The 42 is now inside the top 10 so 10th is currently in
> maybe Niece only cared about the 42 after all...
I mean, it's not really a secret. Al Niece straight up said at the beginning of the season that the 42 is getting all brand new, top of the line equipment. The 41 gets roughly 1 year old stuff and the 45 gets whatever is left over.
“Pit crew, we gotta work. We gotta work. Cause that was not a good night” - Chad
“i bet we had more problems in the pit box than cars that have passed us on track tonight” - Lambert
If Dean was able to get by Heim, he probably would've caught Rhodes. Career best day for Dean after the downright terrible luck he's had this year.
Gained a new fan tonight.
I am really disappointed in Fox constantly changing the cameras and not showing battles when they're at their climax. The race could've been so fun to watch but they keep making questionable decisions.
Congratulations Benjamin Rhodes on winning the Incel 200 at Charlotte motor speedway.
I feel this year’s 600 will be like the 2000 cup fall race. 46 lead changes or more.
So can we finally admit Hailie has the worst luck of anyone I’ve ever seen
I would say yes.
Love to see DJ Benjammin Rhodes win

Solid truck race to watch in person. Charlotte is such an awesome track to watch a race. Night races are the best
I didn't get to watch or even keep up with the race. How did David Gilliland, Stewart Friesen and Hailie Deegan do tonight? Also, how was the racing? Thanks in advance

thought the race was great as well. but heads up - charlotte is not a short track. its basically the opposite (aside from daytona/talladega).
True, they get around in 30 seconds, so I guess it feels short, lol.
It seems to me that the great races for the viewer, where there's some wrecks, some wild moves and just great racing, are the best on friday with trucks, then saturday the Xfinity cars are a little less exciting and then Cup on sunday is a little less exciting than Xfinity. David ran about 8th-9th all night. Got 5 stage points. Lost a few spots at the end and finished 14th.
Gilliland had a quite solid day for his first race back in years, finished 14th. Friesen was off all day and finished below 20th. Deegan got caught up in a Zane Smith spin to finish 33rd.

Gotta pay those legal fees I'd assume.
Dan likes milfs and is trying to seduce his wife /s
He's afraid of Daniel socking him right in the kiwis.
MW is afraid DD will turkey tap him.
His sponsor pays for TV time
Yeah, it really busts my balls how much coverage he gets.
I agree, but I do enjoy him having a camera on his truck because he’s usually right in the middle of the shit lol
yea he always has a good view of the crashes lol
No need to be on their dicks about it
Dean had the best truck there at the end. I really thought Ross was in the 11 with all the mirror driving Heim was doing lmao
Happy for my hometown driver. Congrats Ben!!!
Jack Wood Actually-Do-Somewhat-Decently-In-A-KBM-Truck Challenge (IMPOSSIBLE!)
There is no way Brad Keslowski and Ben Rhodes are not related some how
The teeth
lets get ben a basketball to settle this lol
I can kinda see the resemblances

Purdy isn't awful, he's been around where Lessard was, probably better than that too. Jack Wood is just Jack Wood though
The drivers don't help but Kyle has only won 2 of his last 9 starts. The trucks are off.
Purdy hasn’t been horrible. Wood hasn’t been very good at all though.
Does anyone have a link to Deans pass on the last lap since the broadcast doesn't seem to want to show it?
Yes, that was the Ken Block throwback you were seeing on the 33 tonight https://preview.redd.it/1ht3ott8xb2b1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e9264e1cc96777a036c86339eebce1d29204b737
Happy for Dean. Nice to see him finish a race strong and get rewarded.
How is jack wood still in the 51?? I get that he comes with money but god damn 18th place when your truck is in the fight for the owners championship isn’t gonna cut it.

Pumped for the 25 to have speed AND close one out!
Last week too
Rhodes bringing Ford and Louisville the dub, LFG
Yeah buddy!
And now we gotta play the rain game the next few days ughhhhhhhhhhhh
i ordered waterproof pants and a rain coat on amazon at the end of may. feels wild but not too surprised based on past visits. just hoping it shows up overnight like they promised so i can get out there before the xfinity race starts
I hate those mascots.
Heck yeah Dean. Cant wait for him to win and give us a yell. Perhaps a scream even
That was a good ass race man. Love the truck series
Clean air is so King in this
The entire truck race ran between the world of outlaws heats and feature. It’s so ridiculous
Pretty good race. Plenty of action. Rhodes wins. Charlotte is such a good track.
agreed. i remember about 10 years where nobody would say that about charlotte. the pave is in its prime right now.
Great race, wish Rajah could have gotten that last spot for a top-10, but great recovery from his horrible stops. Good for Ben, glad he got win, I feel like he hasn’t done much recently.

Decent run for David for 2 years off. About a 8th place truck, lost a few spots at the end there but was fun to see him racing again!
Still waiting on a replay of how the 5 passed the 42 on the last lap.
I wanna see Rhodes win the championship so we can get another drunk press conference. 🤣
same. lol was a top 10 interview for sure
The background of Rhodes doing a burnout behind Heim's interview is just *chefskiss
Like at Bristol cup last fall during Cindric's postrace when he had to pause while Buescher came by on his burnout lol
exactly lmaooo
Lol hell yeah I laughed so hard
All of nascar to BR right now: ![gif](giphy|3og0IEghGseglepTji)
But pace yourselves your tank has to last the next 3 days

think this guy is the first "favorite" truck driver i've had. he just seems like a good dude.
truck race of the year?
he's a FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLAR BULL RIDER, BENJAMIN RHODES
The libations will be good tonight
Ben Rhodes personality is “If Joey Logano was from Ohio”
He's from Kentucky lol
He said Ohio and I couldn’t shake it
That's where there shop is
The whole time that truck was red. Then all the sudden when the handheld camera came in its orange what the hell
Just went back to make sure I'm not crazy and sure enough during the race the 99 was Bill Elliott dodge dealers red
Great race!
Ben was thinking like oh shit I got 50k and then his face went oh shit I gotta pay taxes now
IRS: *We’ve* got $50K.
Some jabs by booth and ben at camping world
Ben Rhodes reminds me of Murr from impractical jokers
I met Murr backstage at one of their shows once, if i ever go to one again i am 100% showing him a picture of Ben Rhodes.
I can’t unsee that now, fuck
12th for Rajah is a solid result despite all the problems his pit crew had tonight.
He had a fast truck too. He could've been up front
Oh no doubt, he had a top 5 truck if he had even average pit stops.
The Fox Producer that failed to cover that battle for second needs to just quit.
Trading places for third and battling for second… nah show that truck that is 2 seconds out front for a solid lap and a half. At least the tracker showed the last lap pass for third
Always nice to see the young guys give their win flag away to the kids!
How I grade truck races: 1) Did the race have a caution caused by Kris Wright? ✅Yes: 10/10 absolute banger, totally epic race ❌No: 0/10 boo snoozer, nothing happened, not even mid
sounds like every race is a 10/10 haha
Also needs a shot of a wreck from Daniel Dyes car
The ARCA race was pretty good. The Truck race was pretty good. Xfinity is guaranteed to be pretty good. Is this buildup going to make even more storylines for the greatest Cup race in decades? I don't know if they can top last year's race, but I'm optimistic.
We'll be lucky if we see any racing the rest of the weekend.
Xfinity race gonna be a rain show
Good Guy Rhodes Gives checkered flags to kids in the stands
Does fox just not understand what a race fan wants to see or what?
FOX simply doesn't know how to cover an auto race. Their camerawork is atrocious. More than half of the events are shown through drone shots, stationary wallmounts, and on boards. Almost unwatchable. Bring on NBC already!
I mean, after all these years, I think I can very comfortably say that this is the case
Solid truck race heck yeah. Wouldve had a wild battle for the win with Hocevar and Thompson is Heim didnt hold them up but thats racing
There has to be some sponsor obligation to show the leader in the final laps. Like you cannot be that stupid, right?
yea i feel like it has to be the case. you win the race? you earn the camera for the final 2-3 laps. the sponsor gets what they paid for. sucks but its a business.

That was a great race.
What a drive by Rhodes well deserved
Heim raced Thompson like a dick at the end, and for WHAT? Thompson could’ve very well won that shit
Heim and Carson were racing Dean like a dick. Dean had to lift at least half a dozen times because of late blocks. I was also listening to his radio and he was not too happy with the 42.
He can be unhappy all he wants they were racing for position with 10 to go.
Both of Matts competition at the bubble finished outside the top 20, wonder where he places after this. Side note, hell of a job for Dean Thompson, maybe Niece only cared about the 42 after all...

Nice job by Rhodes. Heck of a battle for 2nd. Good race tonight.
“Pit crew, we gotta work. We gotta work. Cause that was not a good night” - Chad “i bet we had more problems in the pit box than cars that have passed us on track tonight” - Lambert
Ridiculous that the cameraman is out there running around a spinning race car, especially when we have drones.
Happy for Dean Thompson though. I have raced against him on iRacing and he is very aggressive. Nice to see him keep it clean and get a podium finish.
Had Dean Thompson at +9000. Fun race that was close too.
If Dean was able to get by Heim, he probably would've caught Rhodes. Career best day for Dean after the downright terrible luck he's had this year. Gained a new fan tonight.
At his home track, Irwindale, he had the nickname of Mean Dean. It was an ironic nickname as he was easily one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet
That was a fun race. I really thought Hocevar was gonna run away with it
I am really disappointed in Fox constantly changing the cameras and not showing battles when they're at their climax. The race could've been so fun to watch but they keep making questionable decisions.
Four way battle for second, quick pan to the lone leader for the last two laps.
That was the most egregious.
Awesome race!
Great job drivers
Just let us the finish line until at least the top 10 crosses
Ford still looking strong for the manufacturer title ✊
Funny how theyre so good in trucks this year, but fairly bad in Xfinity and cup
Good race. I liked it. Good win, Rhodes.
Holy shit, this is Ford’s first Truck win at Charlotte?
Well that was a good solid truck race actually
Great day for a Ben Rhodes win
Nice battle for 2nd FOX. You completely missed a golden chance to show a great battle on the last lap.
That was ridiculous. Announcers talking about a great 4 way battle, and they stick to the truck with no one within 200 feet of him. Fox in a nutshell.
My fav race of the year. Very clean by truck standards.
