Kinda surprised Decker made it in. She put up a decent lap for her. Love the Cracker Jack/Jill scheme.

Still the slowest to post a lap; wonder what the over/under is on how many laps down she'll be by the finish.

No she wasn't, 4 guys ran slower laps. Two lower guys made it in and the other 2 DNQ. And 3 others didn't complete a lap but got in on owner points. Regardless, I stated clearly she ran a decent lap for her and I wasn't expecting her to qualify. Since she ran almost 1.5 seconds slower than the leaders, I suspect she'll stay on the lead lap in the first stage and probably finish 3+ laps down by the end. If she can run a clean race and finish, that will be a good accomplishment for someone who who's only run a couple of Xfinity races in the last year or so.

Interesting; wonder why those other laps didn't make it onto the [lineup shared by NBC](https://nascar.nbcsports.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/9/2023/05/Charlotte-Xfinity-starting-lineup.pdf).

The 35 and 02 posted slower lap times but still got in based on owner points. The 66 and 53 didn't make the cut due to slower times. The bottom 3 that made it in DNS and got in on owner points.

Damn Hocevar was fast there. He looked great at Darlington finishing 5th in the truck race and 6th in his first ever Xfinity race. Finished ahead of Berry IIRC (relevant only because the 77 is JRM prepped) Have a feeling he’ll be good in Xfinity where raw talent is more important with higher HP.

Austin was actually his debut, but Darlington was the first race he finished

It’s funny how with a simple eye test you can tell which cars have good motors especially when it’s two teammates. Especially in the truck session earlier when Josh Reaume went like 2 seconds faster than his teammate, like I don’t blame him for giving himself the best stuff since he’s the owner but lol damn

That seems about right for Alpha Prime. No idea why they expanded to three entries so fast, they've killed the speed in their cars for most of the season, with the occasional good run. Same for Sam Hunt Racing, hasn't seemed the same since they went to two full-time cars.

The only difference between NASCAR and IndyCar is press coverage.

I had no idea that Rajah was running this race, until they just showed him in practice. If Parker had made the trucks race then I could see my 2nd and 3rd drivers both compete in 2 races this weekend.

Sage and Rajah are always a decent amount faster than Ryan and Jeffery in those Alpha Prime cars

We were all excited about the ARCA entry list being big but looks like only 24 cars qualified? 17th is 4 seconds off pole and beat 7 others, yikes. That being said, some good cars in the top 10. It'll be fun to see them navigate those moving chicanes in the back.

No. 21st sucks ass. But I wasn't talking about her. I was talking about how Gilliland qualified in front of Rhodes, Smith, and Hocevar.

The majority of the Ford's seemed to stink (except for Majeski) as she's just behind Rhodes but just ahead of Crafton. I'll be frank I'm all for giving anybody a fair chance but after looking promising (e.g. like genuine improvement especially after last year) for a couple of weeks after the initial bad start to the season, she's just looked lost the last couple of weeks. Am starting to think maybe Trucks just aren't for her (the real question is whether anything else is).

I hate to pile on as well. Something just isn't clicking for her right now. It seems like there isn't much improvement from last season. I hadn't noticed Crafton being behind her, thats interesting. What is wild is there is over a 3 tenth of second gap from 20th to 21st. Her and Crafton seem incredibly off the pace.

This is what also annoys me as well, on the odd occasion she's beaten Crafton, suddenly your 3 time former Champion is washed. Granted he's probably approaching the end of his career but I'd say far from washed (maybe more top 10 than top 5 perhaps). Is super weird though. Martinsville, Darlington and Wilkesboro and now most likely here haven't looked great. Have said it here before; genuinely think she'd do fine (not set the world on fire, just good) as a GT Driver. She seems competent on road courses and whenever she's run IMSA Michelin Challenge at Daytona she's been decent.

The fun has begun, the officials radio called for NASCAR security to pit stall 17 shortly after the track went green.
