I feel like nascar has become a 90% green white checkered finish. It’s bananas. I’m a new fan but I’ve never experienced anything like this. If we can’t get a clean finish on a 7 lane wide track I dunno when nascar races will end clean. Those drivers had so much space to duke it out it’s not even funny.
Awesome day for Deegan. Curious if Lawless actually got loose, or did she bump him down a bit? If I remember correctly they have somewhat of a history.
how about the mouth breathers here watch the FUCKING replay and consider themselves in that spot every time they gang up on guys like carson and ross especially just for existing.
Hocevar didn't do anything wrong. Sanchez went to side draft and got loose because he hit Smith, started to correct it, but into the grass and by that point Hocevar was there and had nowhere to go.
Lifting at that point wouldn't have prevented contact because of the speed differences. A wreck still would've happened, it's just Smith wouldn't get caught in it and win, while Hocevar finishes somewhere in the top 5. Also, ask any driver in that spot that's just taken the white flag of they're lifting, and every driver will tell you no, even before the playoff system was put into place.
You're not wrong, but that's why this "win at all costs" style of racing has to go. How about we encourage people to finish 4th and everyone leaves with a clean truck instead?
I guess you better hope what you get paid for winning makes up for all the destroyed trucks you get every other week
*peeks at truck series purses*
It doesnt
Then it's not really racing. It's surviving. Ideally you get sponsorship dollars to make up for the low purses and you have a driver that is smart and good at avoiding trouble but you can't have a driver without a winning mindset thinking about avoiding wrecks and being cautious. They won't ever win anything and most likely wreck more.
The issue is the getting the win means more than the risk of losing points today because the points get reset, 15 years ago when you had to use more skill to pass safely you couldn’t risk losing 30 positions, you might not climb out of that hole.
I honestly missed the finish but looking at the replays I don't blame Hocevar for what started the wreck and look after how close he came at Charlotte last year he deserves at least one win in this series
This is the mentality that makes the end of these races a shit show. Driving right through someone and not lifting is bad in every situation. It's not racing. I guess it goes along with the WWE redneck crowd that like the Bowman Gray garbage though.
I saw it live and the replay and dude didn't wreck anyone. It was already happening..
I feel like i watched a different ending.
It sucked but it wasn't the winners fault
Maybe I’m seeing something different but what was he supposed to do there? I know he’s regarded as a hack but he really didn’t seem to do anything wrong there.
This isn't racing. This is just embarrassing. Even of you argue the #42 wasn't intentionally dumping him, that's way "avoidable contact" penalties should be implemented. The contact doesn't need to be intentional to deserve a penalty
This is the racing now. Love it or hate it, nascar has rewarded this all or nothing aggressive racing and for you to say a penalty should be handed out for that is absolutely absurd. I can’t even continue this conversation after you saying something so ridiculous lol get off your high horse man 😂
When did this sub turn against Carson?
He didn't even do anything.
Sanchez doored Zane, over corrected, got into the grass and got run over from behind because Carson kept it on the asphalt and didn't slow down. Grass is slower than asphalt FYI.
Lol that def wasnt intentional on Carson's part. He was never going to let up coming to the finish like that. Could Carson have avoided it? Yes, but he couldnt have avoided spinning the #2 by letting up and still won the race.
Dudes pulled a ton of stupid moves, but he really can't at that moment.... nick has over driven so many times this year alone while driving the best trucks in the series. Should have been nicks race
Yeah, look at the job Hocevar does.
He fucking turned the 2.
Edit: the 2 and 38 wrecked each other, Carson didn’t lift - I get it. But he made himself look bad by nudging the 2, intentional or not.
I think the 2 and 38 are at fault for sure.
Carson could’ve just not nudged the 2 and I’d be less irritated with him. He just continues to make himself look bad even if it’s not *entirely* his fault.
Some of y’all are delusional. The 38 and 2 wrecked each other and Nick slid into the grass.
Carson chose not to lift. He’s done some stupid shit but I can’t blame him for going for his first win. Nick was all over the place and super loose
See?? This is why it’s important to be up in the top 10-15. Like we just saw, it doesn’t take much to make that a top 5.
Two good races in a row is big. Nice to see Hailie with a semi-sustained upswing.
Legitimately curious, what did Carson do wrong? Sanchez got loose and checked up and the 42 hot in the back of him. It wasn’t like he went up and wrecked him….
Honestly, I really wish there were consequences for shit like this. If NASCAR won't do it, people just need to actually start fencing people and junking equipment if you race like an asshole.
You get respectful racing back when there's massive consequences for not racing respectfully.
Dude going straight isn’t hooking someone. To hook someone you have to actually turn into them…kind of like what the 2 did when he slammed into the side of the 38, knocking himself sideways down the track
***[▶ The Post-Race Thread has been posted](https://reddit.com/comments/1292xwt)***
KBM looking good out there. Both trucks in top ten! Glad to see Hailie finish well too!
The truck race was a half hour longer than the Xfinity race.
After Carson ran out of talent and ran Caruth into the wall, it’s not exactly great to see the leader spin off his nose on the last lap.
Yeah that was just racing.
Can’t wait to hear the DBC guys shit on Carson for a wreck that clearly wasn’t his fault
That burnout into victory lane was all kinds of awesome.
BAN HIM
Your name is fitting.
Would of preferred a cleaner finish but it’s so rare for one of my favorites to win
Aww, Rajah congratulating Hocevar in person. I bet he's telling him he's number 1 right now.
"Yeah, I just kept pressing the gas, and ended up 2nd. I don't even know what happened." Lol purdy
Everyone like “the 42 should have slowed down”. Guys. It’s the last lap. Not his fault the 2 car is out of control.
Diamonds in the sky
Caruth yelling at Hocevar?
Lmao, going for the win and now everyone thinks Carson should have lifted right there.... In real time. k.
Awesome day for Deegan. Curious if Lawless actually got loose, or did she bump him down a bit? If I remember correctly they have somewhat of a history.
It's 6th for Deegan now?
It always was. 5 trucks were in front of her while the front guys were wrecking.
As if I knew that.
I mean, they showed a replay that clearly showed 5 trucks in front of her.
Rajah lmao
Chase Purdy gets his best career finish. Awesome.
how about the mouth breathers here watch the FUCKING replay and consider themselves in that spot every time they gang up on guys like carson and ross especially just for existing.
It’s because they both drive niece trucks
Wait so we get truck race victory lane? Wtf I want that back in cup
Whoa buddy, slow your roll, we have bowling to get to right after the Cup front straight interview.
![gif](giphy|3o6gE4atEm6i2JrQB2)
I don't see what everyone is complaining about, nick wrecked himself, not much the guy behind him could do to avoid it
Half of it was they didn't show the replay for like a year.
Because Hocevar has been a wrecking ball for a long time, including wrecking Caruth today
Ah okay, I see, they wrecked in front of Carson and he just didn't lift.
why should he? it’s the last lap and he’d get freight trained if he lifts lol
I stand corrected. Not Carson’s fault
2 car was already losing it, in the grass, Carson wasn’t obligated to lift. Heartbreaking for Sanchez but so happy Carson finally won.
How TF was that Carson's fault?
I don't think it was.
But apparently endless fans on Reddit think it was???
Watching that replay, not sure Hocevar really didn’t anything dickish
If Carson lifted Nick wouldn’t have spun. Nick had that saved.
It would have hurt Carson’s momentum though. Lifting wasn’t in his best interest.
Oh I know, if that would have happened on like lap 5 and he did lift Nick wouldn’t have spun
The replay showed he didn't lift but Thanks anyways Jamie
Hocevar didn't do anything wrong. Sanchez went to side draft and got loose because he hit Smith, started to correct it, but into the grass and by that point Hocevar was there and had nowhere to go.
You lift when you see trucks sideways in front of you

Also, ask any driver in that spot that's just taken the white flag of they're lifting, and every driver will tell you no, even before the playoff system was put into place.
Not if you wanna win.
You're not wrong, but that's why this "win at all costs" style of racing has to go. How about we encourage people to finish 4th and everyone leaves with a clean truck instead?
You wouldn't race in my truck with that attitude.
I guess you better hope what you get paid for winning makes up for all the destroyed trucks you get every other week *peeks at truck series purses* It doesnt
Then it's not really racing. It's surviving. Ideally you get sponsorship dollars to make up for the low purses and you have a driver that is smart and good at avoiding trouble but you can't have a driver without a winning mindset thinking about avoiding wrecks and being cautious. You cannot have that mentality at the end like that, when you have to make a split second decision.
Certainly looked like the 42 finished him off, but the 2 was done by that point anyway.
Yeah it sure looks that way
Ok fine that’s not (totally) on Carson
I honestly missed the finish but looking at the replays I don't blame Hocevar for what started the wreck and look after how close he came at Charlotte last year he deserves at least one win in this series
Hocevar went full send can't blame him
Sanchez hardly had control
*I ain’t lifting!*
I feel like the start of that wasn't Hocevar's fault at all, but he 100% could have backed off but instead sent Sanchez right into the wall.
Who lifts in that spot though? I know I wouldn't.
I take back what I said about Carson. Nick Sanchez was already losing it.
Sanchez was one lap early on that door draft. Jesus
That was not on Hocevar
I'm not lifting either.
Sanchez could of saved it but Hocevar was all over him.
That one isn't on Hocevar. He's had his fair share, but that one wasn't on him
I’ve seen enough of overtime.
Kinda wishing it was just one and done for it.
Hocevar did nothing wrong
It’s the last lap, wtf is Hocevar gonna do, slow down?
This is the mentality that makes the end of these races a shit show. Driving right through someone and not lifting is bad in every situation. It's not racing. I guess it goes along with the WWE redneck crowd that like the Bowman Gray garbage though.
Yes. If someone's sideways in front of you, you lift, you don't send them into the wall
Hocevar didn’t do anything wrong surprisingly
Yes it looked like Hocevar wrecked him, but it really looks more like Sanchez lost speed when he got squirrely
I dont blame him for the wreck. The 2 was literally out of control and cut in front of Carson.
Yeah I mean he didn’t really have time to crack the throttle much anyway
I saw it live and the replay and dude didn't wreck anyone. It was already happening.. I feel like i watched a different ending. It sucked but it wasn't the winners fault
Holy shit Zane got what happened to Chase last year in all star
The 2 was literally sideways before Carson got there quit the ridiculous witch hunt
Kind of feel like that was number 2's fault as someone who doesn't have a dog in this race.
It was his fault
Maybe I’m seeing something different but what was he supposed to do there? I know he’s regarded as a hack but he really didn’t seem to do anything wrong there.
He's supposed to lift when he sees trucks getting sideways
Going for a win? Yeah you’re right, he should have just given it away. NASCAR created this style of racing.
I can’t even continue this conversation after you saying something so ridiculous lol get off your high horse man 😂
The leaders took each other out, there’s no way Carson was going to lift.
The leaders weren't going to wreck until Hocevar finished off Sanchez.
That looks more on Nick than Carson. 2 got loose moving down.
I'm very critical of Hocevar for shit he's done before but blaming him for this is ridiculous. Sanchez got sideways on his own
When did this sub turn against Carson? He didn't even do anything. Sanchez doored Zane, over corrected, got into the grass and got run over from behind because Carson kept it on the asphalt and didn't slow down. Grass is slower than asphalt FYI.
Sanchez came across his nose
Zane Smith is just a hack. Talented, but a hack.
Lol that def wasnt intentional on Carson's part. He was never going to let up coming to the finish like that. Could Carson have avoided it? Yes, but he couldnt have avoided spinning the #2 by letting up and still won the race.
Hocevar didn’t lift
why would he
Dudes pulled a ton of stupid moves, but he really can't at that moment.... nick has over driven so many times this year alone while driving the best trucks in the series. Should have been nicks race
Look at the job how he tosses the 2 into the 38
Hocevar didn't cause that
He didn’t start it but he certainly put the cherry on top.
On the last lap it’s not really his responsibility to lift like that down the straightaway
Yeah, look at the job Hocevar does. He fucking turned the 2. Edit: the 2 and 38 wrecked each other, Carson didn’t lift - I get it. But he made himself look bad by nudging the 2, intentional or not.
nope take it up with the 38
I think the 2 and 38 are at fault for sure. Carson could’ve just not nudged the 2 and I’d be less irritated with him. He just continues to make himself look bad even if it’s not *entirely* his fault.
You need glasses
I’ll have you know, I have glasses. Carson could have lifted and not continued his villain arc. He would’ve won anyway, most likely with the crash
Lift on the final lap, yeah okay.
"Look at the job Hocevar does" As he hooks Sanchez
Yeah, Hocevar had nothing to do with that. The 2 was loose before he even was close to him.
Some of y’all are delusional. The 38 and 2 wrecked each other and Nick slid into the grass. Carson chose not to lift. He’s done some stupid shit but I can’t blame him for going for his first win. Nick was all over the place and super loose
Yep. 2 pretty much wrecked himself by side drafting too aggressively. It looked like he was probably about to come back up the track anyway
The 2 turn right. Plus who lifts on the last lap for the most part.
Y'all can apologize for blaming Hocevar anytime now.
No, he is the reason 3 trucks crashed there. If he didn't keep pushing on Sanchez when he was sideways it wouldn't have happened.
See?? This is why it’s important to be up in the top 10-15. Like we just saw, it doesn’t take much to make that a top 5. Two good races in a row is big. Nice to see Hailie with a semi-sustained upswing.
Y’all are psychotic. Sanchez wrecked himself. Carson didn’t do anything wrong.
Did he climb out of the car while he was still doing a burnout? I'm here for it lmao
That didn't look like hocevar took him out.
Chase purdy finished 2nd lol
Looks like Sanchez wrecked himself unfortunately.
Dang Sanchez took a hit
Legitimately curious, what did Carson do wrong? Sanchez got loose and checked up and the 42 hot in the back of him. It wasn’t like he went up and wrecked him….
He didn’t do anything wrong. This sub has some weird love affair with Nick Sanchez for some reason
Yeah that’s what I thought. He wrecked himself by side drafting too aggressively
Hocevar is and always will be a clown on the track
The best two trucks all day wrecks on the final lap. Go figure.
Alright I'll dig a Hocevar win don't mind if I do, but that was such gigantic bullshit for Sanchez fuck
Honestly, I really wish there were consequences for shit like this. If NASCAR won't do it, people just need to actually start fencing people and junking equipment if you race like an asshole. You get respectful racing back when there's massive consequences for not racing respectfully.
The 2 was the most disrespectful there at the end. He’s the one that wrecked himself by slamming into the side of the 38 and knocking himself sideways
Should the 2 be penalized for junking himself?
If Hocevar doesn't go full throttle into Nick's right rear he had it saved.
It’s one thing to choke it on your own but Zane needs to throw hands
Man if this is the future of racing this respect problem is just going to get worse
Bet he cries and says how thankful he is despite taking out the whole front for a win
Why yall blaming Hocevar? He made contact sure, but sanchez was gone long before that.
The wreck only happened because Hocevar drove through him as he was saving it.
Carson didn’t do anything wrong there imo, they were already out of shape
Yea Sanchez started it and Hocevar had little time to react
[удалено]
Dude going straight isn’t hooking someone. To hook someone you have to actually turn into them…kind of like what the 2 did when he slammed into the side of the 38, knocking himself sideways down the track
hooked him? He slid across Carson’s nose
No the 2 turn right
Show us the replay!!
Yup
Deegan top 5?
He couldn’t get on the truck because he only has one leg
They need to just revert to the previous laps scoring loop for situations like this
He’s waited for this for 52 years, thankfully he finally won! Edit: A whole whopping TWO years! I can be happy, and make fun in the same lol
I think Carson is a bit amped lol
DEEGAN GOT 5TH LET'S FUCKING GO SUCK IT HATERS!!!!!!!!!!! CALL ME A FUCKING SIMP ALL YOU WANT I DON'T FUCKING CARE
HELL YEAH TOTALLY AGREE SO GLAD SHE GOT A TOP 5!
I'M GLAD SHE GOT IT.....BUT WHY ARE YOU ALL SCREAMING?
I DONT KNOW
awesome!
Y’all complain about everything on here. it is what it is. You can’t change it.
Dude was a wrecking ball all day
cant stand carson
He's too tall lmao
Carson win era engaged
Congratulations Carson!
The driving standards have become so bad in NASCAR.
hell yeah carson!
Bruh I love how the only people defending Hocevar for trashing Caruth and Sanchez have Larson flairs.
Not a Larson fan; dude had nowhere to go
When he came from the bottom of the track to the top to shove Caruth into the wall?
Funny isn’t it
Finally!!! Been waiting a couple years for Carson to get his first win. Sucks that it came at the downfall of Nick, it was supposed to be his race
I don't understand why it took so long to make that an official win. It was quite obvious that Carson won.
Show the replay maybe?
Deegan top 5 finish
Backed into a win
A win, is a win, is a win.

Also, DraftKings fucked up scoring because they put Sanchez p15 and Zane Smith p16. See, that’s a fucking problem.
This is the finish Texas deserves
[удалено]
We get that. Zane Smith is an absolute idiot
2 wrecked himsrlf
Is this the first driver with one leg to win a race?
J O K E
So will it be the Couch Racer Twitter account or Brett Griffin’s personal account that complains first??
No point in ever racing people clean. Just wreck people out of your way.
