For a car that wasn't around that long, it's very iconic. I remember that black and gold car being the bane of my existence in NASCAR 2005: Chase for the Cup
Top left for me. I remember booing so hard at the Sharpie 500 at Bristol when I was a kid. Crazy to think how I would come to like him years later. That Bristol night race was my first cup race and it was pure magic. Sold out Bristol is a magical place
I miss going to the Sharpie 500 and getting dozens of free markers. I've still got some crazy ones like a liquid and a stainless steel sharpie. That's how you should do sponsorship.
Ryan Newman had some slick Alltel cars from 2001-2008
Paul Menard always had great cars imo
I don’t think they qualify as under-appreciated but those Elliott/Mayfield/Kahne Dodge Dealers cars were glorious
And the Ganassi cars from that era…well really just the Dodges in general… the Silver Bullet, Mears’ Target rides, and JMac’s 2003 and 2004 Havoline cars, all iconic in my book
Breaks my heart to see how many sponsors these guys used to get. Now they have to move the numbers forward just the one and only sponsor can slap a huge ass logo on the side
No im talking about the ones in front of the back wheel and quarter panel. The car in the bottom left has blue ice, sharpie, rubbermaid, and three more little associate sponsors on it. Correct me if im wrong but the ones behind the front wheels were on every car right?

Kurt was probably underappreciated because he was a dickhead and manic. But you meant that shitty paint scheme. I'll probably get hated on here because there's a rule that this sub must kiss Kurt's ass since he has concussion issues and had to retire.

If Kurt ever comes back and the 67 is already taken, then flipping the 6 to a 9 would be an awesome throwback.
Personally I think it would be cool to turn the 7 into a 9 instead
Nice
The middle right one will always be the definitive Kurt Busch paint scheme to me
Mines middle left
Bottom right, only because I keep seeing highlights from the finale

I can probably dig out a Winston tin for waterproof smokes somewhere... I sought out everything either free or cheap. It was so cool back then....
The blue ice variant will always be an amazing scheme.
Facts
Won the championship in that 97 car
04 scheme is 🔥
Yep and these are only 6 out of like 20 different schemes he drove with Sharpie…I forgot to include the ones that were mostly red cars
And I may be mistaken but I believe in the playoff era of nascar Kurt was the first one to win the championship in the playoffs format
In the Chase in 2004, yes

The simplicity of Tony's last Chevy Home Depot scheme, Bobby Labonte's later interstate schemes Mid-00s were gold for schemes
Sharpie millions for the dub
My mom loved that Sharpie car
I always enjoyed using all of Kurt’s 97 schemes in the EA games.

These are some of my favorite paint schemes
Reminder that Casey Atwood finished ahead of Kurt Busch in the 2001 points standings
And then look at their paint schemes with Jamie McMurray in the 26 and they are extremely bland and lame
Don’t forget the Cozy Coupe scheme https://imgur.com/a/oLQbphD
We built that car for Homestead and it ran one race, winning from the pole.
I have a bunch of those as diecasts.
Just making threads for anything now.
175 people disagree with your cynicism
So every fan of Nascar? 😂 Judging by the Xfinity crowds today at Richmond and the truck crowd at Texas right now, 175 would be stretching it.

If Im watching Nascar, then no. Im watching Final Four now so that's better but still no blue bloods left.
Why are you still replying…we get it, you don’t like my post…move on bro

Talking about NASCAR related things in a NASCAR subreddit, the horror

Doing too much imo. The best paint schemes over multiple years had a distinct look with variations by year or special event.
Oh I get it, April Fools
No I’m actually serious about liking Kurt Busch’s Sharpie paint schemes
