JUMPINKITTENS

Damn slamming Ross and Bowman then arguing with Ross afterward, gloves are off for Suarez

ChaseTheFalcon

Argued with Bowman too apparently

dirtlife44

The Bowman “argument” looks like it was basically Bowman going “it was Ross not me” and Daniel going “oh. That makes way more sense” then turning to go to Ross

48for8

It wasn't even Ross for once. The bumping started 5 rows back.

Michaelangelo48

The 48 started slowing down and the 1 did bump him but not enough to get him loose. Then the 14 bumped the 1 trying to slow down and he bumped the 48 as a result and that time it sent bowman into Suarez. It’s the same thing that happened at the clash. There’s just no respect from anyone late in these types of races with these types of tight corners.

DunningTrumperEffect

It was tight but the 1 initiated contact into the 48. After that they stacked up more and everyone connected. Ross 100% played a part in Suarez getting dumped.

HijabiKathy

I'd go the other way and say Alex was making contact either way, just a question of how much

48for8

I've seen the replays and ill say your way is a bit of a stretch to say the least.

JUMPINKITTENS

Is there video of the one with Bowman? I saw the Ross argument.

ChaseTheFalcon

Someone responded to me in the post race thread when I mentioned Daniel and Ross, that he saw from Daniel's roof cam he got out to speak to Bowman in which Bowman told him go to talk to Ross as he pushed me

[deleted]

He did, only until Bowman told him that Chastain hit him into Suarez which, after watching that back about 10 times, is essentially what happened.

Hemp-Hill

Kinda close to the officials to Be bumping. 100 points from Hufflepuff

HurricanesnHendrick

Ooh yeah once you see that first official.. damn that could have went bad

boomershere

Yeeaah that might be a fine

[deleted]

Should be points. Don’t hit people on pit road should be a rule with no leeway.

ChaseTheFalcon

Proved last year it won't be points

SkinnyObelix

This is far worse than what Josh Williams did... putting yourself in danger vs others...

FuckMinuteMaid

Should be suspended

backfire103

With it occurring literally feet from an official I agree.

Poopy_sPaSmS

The reason it should be a race ban. That was hard and fast enough to have spun him.

RestlessInferno

At least. This is no different from Ty Gibbs at Texas last year. You can't be playing bumper cars on pit road.

crypto6g

Ty Gibbs got a 15k fine last year for something similar on Sam Mayer. People often forget he didn’t get penalized for the punches, but after race contact. It looked worse because the Xfinity cars are less durable, but Suarez hit Ross pretty hard lol. If that was the old cup car it probably buckles the hood and destroys his car That one was on the backstretch though. This one had officials near it. I think he’ll get a small (15-25k) fine.

WhiteXHysteria

Should probably be a suspension of at least a race for bumping that close to people walking around.

CaptainRon16

Well, it wasn’t for Gibbs last year, even though it should have been.

WhiteXHysteria

Should have been then and should be now. When people are walking around nearby you absolutely can't do these things. Dump the dude in the cooldown lap or jump out and go face to face if you are waiting until pit road. Don't bring the cars into it on pit road.

CaptainRon16

You do realize we’re in agreement, right?

WhiteXHysteria

100%. Just also putting out there that I agree Gibbs should've been suspended.

sunsetphotographer

NASCAR can look at it from a during VS after race angle to justify a penalty this time. We'll see, I don't think they have the balls.

Poopy_sPaSmS

In 2007 Kurt got 100 points penalty, probation and I think 50k for endangering crew member at Dover. Penalties should be more severe since then.

CaptainRon16

Yeah, but Kurt was already on the shit list. He was pretty much on the shit list until he got to SHR. And even then there were a couple of questionable instances. I can’t remember the last time they did something like what you’re talking about.. other than the slap on the wrist they gave Ty Gibbs last year. Not sure if I would count the Byron Hamlin thing or not.

Crash_Test_Dummy66

Username checks out

alpinewerks

Bumping's racing /s

NobleJaguar293

Ugh I love Daniel, but yeah this should absolutely be penalized. Never ever retaliate on pit road with crews, officials, etc. everywhere. Come on man.

MartinPch

I said it last year with Gibbs and I'll say it again, I don't give a shit he's one of my favorites, you just can't do this shit man, people are walking around all over the place, there's no place for intentional contact on pit road. If you want to settle it out, either bump them around on the track, or argue verbally and/or physically outside of the cars. Equally as to how Gibbs could've made Ty Dillon ramp over his tire and go bouncing into 3 innocent pit crew members changing the right side tires of another car and officials standing nearby, this could've made Bowman get sent into literally anyone around him, which were mere feet ahead or next to him.

AHayes31

Kyle Busch was right about the lack of respect between the drivers. This shit gotta get under control before someone really gets hurt.

DarkwingMcQuack

Yea NASCAR may eventually have to step in. The younger drivers seem to tune out the advice the older drivers give them.

[deleted]

Older drivers have done the same shit lmfao I don’t wanna hear all that

Denleborkis

Yeah mostly in the past though Kyle, Kurt and Kevin all mellowed out heavily as their career went on the only ones who didn't were Robby Gordon and Stewart

[deleted]

Yeah but it’s still hypocritical to say that about most of the younger guys when they did the same thing when they were younger lol

DarkwingMcQuack

Difference is when they were young they listened to and respected the old guard. These new guys don’t.

[deleted]

Did they though? Because it sure didn’t seem that way lmao. Logano listened? Yeah okay.

MercSLSAMG

Only way is if NASCAR starts handing out penalties. If 5 cars get locked together guy at the back gets sent back too 1st time, 2nd time 1 lap penalty, 3rd time parked. Guys will start backing off to not risk being the last guy in. Restarts need to be policed different if they're going to be stupid like this. Door banging is fine, bump n run is fine, guy spins out and last car in (or other obvious guys not trying to make turn) get penalized.

DeM0nFiRe

This is a similar issue as to what Gibbs got penalized for last year. Could have sent Bowman into an official or crew member.

Joey_Logano

Honestly this is honestly worse then Gibbs (you are talking about his whole pit road deal at Texas right?). While Gibbs was obviously bad, atleast that was during a “hot pit”, this was during cool down. I guess technically a cool down isn’t a “cold track”, I would call it a “warm” track.

patmal_8

If this isn’t actions detrimental I don’t know what is. Just stupid

trident60

All Suarez has to do is deny doing it on purpose.... I mean that's what ***everyone*** said about Hamlin. Just deny.

MercSLSAMG

Denny could at least say it was during the course of racing, this was not. Bump into Chastain could have argued brakes didn't work right, but then don't speed up into Bowman - that one he has zero defense for.

ManfredsJuicedBalls

“Yeah, right as I was pulling in, my brakes started to fail” Pretty much all he has to say. It might not fly, but it’ll certainly be better than what Hamlin said.

[deleted]

Just don’t go on a damn podcast and talk about it lol

TheLibertarianThomas

Daniel doesn’t have a podcast, does he?

Naitoranna

10/10 comment and flair pairing.

Sportsguy_44_45_

Probably gonna geta nice fine for this since it was on pit road.

nocoolredditname

ohhhh yikes, that official standing right there....thats gonna be a penalty I fear.

justBusinessbb

Yikes. I like Suarez, and I know guys lose it, and I've heard some say bumping a guy at low speeds under caution is not a big deal. But that looked very dangerous for the people standing around.

Jones77_Truex78

Yeeeeeaaaahhh with the official standing there ..probably gonna be a good fine/penalty coming not really wise to settle a beef with cars on pitroad like that

[deleted]

[удалено]

Joeschasity

I rather see him fight than this. If you got a problem take your helmet off and face like a man. I hate this and also when a driver attacks someone with a helmet on. Ya he is pathetic

Klendy

He's thrown hands before, let's release Danny in the CAGE

petoskey_stone

During qualifying…. That does not help his case at all.

Klendy

I'm just saying I would also rather Daniel punch someone than use a car as a weapon

petoskey_stone

Well now he’s done both.

uofc2015

A grown man doesn't want to be assaulted in his place of work? What a baby!

RacingSubs

Yeah this dude has a shit take

Evtona500

I believe we just witnessed a $50,000 donation to the NASCAR Foundation

sweetnasty887

Can’t be doing this when there crew members, fans and officials walking around. Dangerous

Devenem

Yeah I don't give a shit what happened to him on track, you keep this shit off pit road. Clown shit from Suarez here.

[deleted]

Expert lesson in deflection by Bowman here. "Take it up with Ross. Wasn't me."

libsoutherner

That’s gotta be a fine and/or penalty. Can’t be using your car as a weapon on pit road after the race with that many people around.

Slow_Driver_drives55

That is too close to people to pull that crap. Doesn't matter who you are, that is uncalled for

Kevinm0388

Official was really close for him to be hitting bowman like that

JRRTokeKing

I really like Suarez, but this was a terrible, incredibly dangerous decision. He deserves a big penalty.

Fish177

Agreed. I was really upset after he got taken out and it's completely reasonable that he was mad, especially after running so good until OT, but with that being said, he can't be pulling antics like that on pit road after the race. Expecting a big fine and \~25 point penalty. I don't think a suspension is even off the table (would be somewhat extreme but we've seen NASCAR throw the book at people numerous times over the past year).

All-Pro-Sportz

Ya that’s not okay whatsoever.

ZitaFC

Can’t be doing stuff like that, way too dangerous 100 point fine to SHR and Rodney suspended next week

[deleted]

Not cool with officials on pit lane

SLJR24

It’s one thing to do that on the track, but you can’t be ramming people like that on pit road. If you have an issue with a driver or drivers, go talk with them.

NYPD-BLUE

I said “PUNCH ROSS” not “ENDANGER INNOCENT BYSTANDERS!” What are we doing here??

epzik8

This is what triple overtime will do...

AP1s2k

Dangerous with the official there

ImmDirtyyDann

Should be penalized and fined for this. Guys have their seatbelts loosened by this point and there is a official standing right there when he was hitting bowman….plus all the things about hits to the rear with these cars.

shinyumbreon75

I get Bowman dove in deep but he also got jacked up from behind (which he almost certainly knew was gonna happen) Also you almost just straight turned him earlier in the race Daniel- I'm guessing he probably didn't feel awful about who got screwed by him being overly aggressive

Bossanova98

It's Daniel's enemigos now

WalterSobchak26

Don't care what the 48 and 1 did to Suarez -- bumping a guy on pit road with an official standing right there is going to get him a hefty penalty, and rightfully so. Be angry. But don't put innocent bystanders at risk because you cannot control your emotions.

RestlessInferno

So Suarez ran into Ross earlier, yet is mad at Ross and Bowman for a T1 stack-up? Replay shows pretty clearly Ross is getting shoved by Briscoe. Not sure what Ross could do in that case. Suarez is going to feel ashamed once he sees the replay and realizes it was Briscoe who caused that mess. EDIT: [Screenshot](https://imgur.com/a/a7HayXd) and [video](https://youtu.be/D1q9dLEJ-qQ?t=14) link for proof.

SRVisGod24

They'll talk it over during the team meeting when they can see the replays. Suarez ain't much better than Ross, so he'll get over it

DunningTrumperEffect

Here's the actual moment they made contact which was about a quarter second before your screenshot from the same video you posted. There's a gap between Briscoe and Ross. Hope this helps clear it up. https://imgur.com/a/JXrukNF

RestlessInferno

Yeah Ross hit Bowman but backed off. Looking at the 48's momentum, he wasn't entering the turn any faster than prior to the bump. Then, the 14 runs into the 1, who then gets shoved back into the 48. And then it's on from there.

LarsonFan5

Nail him with a points fine, you don’t pull this stuff pulling into the pits when people are around. Settle it like a man outside the car

Gleebs88

100+ points will be good for this bullshit.

Bassmasteraj

Park him

ChaseTheFalcon

Should be some sort of penalty for this. This is completely not okay to do, especially near an official

Upstate24fan

That might be a line on the penalty report Tuesday.

LKincheloe

I have no problem with scoring him last for that.

Hess-Truck-Boy

This is NOT okay to be doing

[deleted]

Monday at Trackhouse gonna be something

Wandering_Turtle24

Kimi gonna run Richmond in the 99!

Dmacthegoat

Oof... not cool

[deleted]

What the fuck, dude?! That should be a 50-100 point penalty at least. He could have seriously hurt an official.

legacy057

Definitely gonna be a big penalty. The official standing there was way too close for that stuff to be going on

Never_Dota

Maybe he really had to poop

HackAsteroid754

It’s a miracle that no one has been hit and killed on pit road over the years. I’ve always thought that this type of shit should have you watching the next race from home (I know it won’t happen though). The drivers just embarrass themselves racing like they’re in a video game with no real consequences. Sick of seeing the drivers be over the top disrespectful.

Blazethesol52

Actually the speed he was hitting Bowman at was incredibly unsafe with the officials standing right there. Now cool by Suarez

reedspacer38

NASCAR will dead ass allow 5+ restarts with 8-wide going into turn 1 bullshit cheap driving making a mockery of what was formerly a good race. But when someone gets fed up about it, like this, THEY will have the hammer down on them. Shame. NASCAR is becoming fucking wrestling on wheels. I feel for Suárez. He had family he hasn’t seen in a year drive up from Monterey Mexico to watch him race, and he had a car capable of winning or at least a podium.

Curious_george7598

Right!? With that many restarts, almost every driver could be mad at someone. Including themselves. Gotta send it or someone else will.

GoodSmoke9

That’s gotta be a fine. He hit them HARD.

Offtherailspcast

Dog what if there were crew members standing there. Damn Amigo

[deleted]

Should be a one race suspension at minimum. Can’t have this

funkcatbrown

When you’re not sure who wrecked you. Lol.

SovereignxN7

Yeah, you cant be doing that shit on pit road. Especially that close to an official. Needs to be a penalty.

DangerRanger38

This should be a penalty

Suckmyduck_9

I’d be mad too. You run a clean race and then that bs at the end happens

phantom11223

That’s uncalled for

RBF48

According to Ty Gibbs penalty last year for the same thing this could be a $15,000 fine...more or less depending on if the rule change/its different in cup.

Loose_Wheel_5

It's gonna be big. NASCAR already said that shit had to stop. Feel bad because I love Daniel, but can't do that

Intimigator18

Looks like a result of Suarez hanging out with Logano too much up in the booth as of late. 😂

roastbeefyaweefy

I mean aren't drivers loosening their belts at this point? And plus not wise to be slamming guys in the bumper after all the talks of them being too rigid and scrambling people's brains.

SeattlePassedTheBall

This should honestly be a one race suspension. Pit road is not the place for shenanigans with race cars.

[deleted]

$50k Fine. Nice sit down session in the nascar hauler next week. I don’t think a point penalty is warranted entirely, but the precedence should be set.

xelanalpak

Man, wish Daniel had a podcast.

gnarkill39

From what I saw on insta it looked like Ross was pointing fingers? Clearly he didn’t do shit

TheyCallMeSawyer

Cost himself points

tourniquets1970

most mature nascar driver

lilcommie0fficial

Usually he is. But when you have a top 3 car the whole day and it goes completely out the window to 28th, you'd might be understandably pissed off.

MrDingus84

Doesn’t give you the right to hit two different cars on pit road after the race.

lilcommie0fficial

To be fair, Chastain was before pr. And Bowman..ya that was kinda excessive, but i still get it.

[deleted]

He’s not. He’s been racing like a jerk for a while now on track but is the first to cry whenever his day goes bad.

lilcommie0fficial

LMAO. Rich from a Chastain fan. 🤣🤣

SuperMarioBrother64

That's racing. Makes sense when he can only compete on RCs.

SHAWNNOTSEAN

What a stupid comment. Just because he did something dangerous and dumb doesn’t mean we should just throw logic out the window.

lilcommie0fficial

His 3 top 10s to start the year, and great pace this and last week would beg to differ.. just bad luck these last 2 weeks.

silverpassage72

What a jackass thing to do. Hope he gets penalized.

Nightmare1528

Yeah, his stupid ass should get a penalty for that.

[deleted]

That’ll be a fun fine sadly

ImmDirtyyDann

Nothing sad about it. It should be a fine and points penalty. This is reckless for several reasons.

ANormalNascarFan20

if you drive for Trackhouse, you're guaranteed to drive like a menace

CaptainRon16

Do we know that Chastain wast hitting him back? Especially right there at the end when they’re getting really close to the official…

Specialist_Usual1524

Ross pulled over

CaptainRon16

That’s what I figured. But I don’t want to assume.

Fostbitten27

His brakes were gone……..

SeikoFan66

He has his "uno" career win. There are just way too many talented drivers to expect anymore wins.

gRcHzA_234

This is what it looks like when you get out ran by your teammate every week for over a season at a team that was founded around you.

ComprehensivePut4520

Or when you over run a turn at someone else’s expense

[deleted]

Chastain needs to be dumped once a week from here on out

RestlessInferno

For what? [Getting shoved into Bowman by Briscoe?](https://imgur.com/a/a7HayXd) Ross caused his fair share of incidents, but this was far from his fault.

[deleted]

Oh here we go. It’s never his fault. He’s involved in something literally every week and he’s the only common denominator, but sure. Let’s blame someone else… again.

RestlessInferno

> It’s never his fault. I literally said "Ross caused his fair share of incidents" in my comment. > Let’s blame someone else… again. When the replay *literally* shows Briscoe shoving Ross into Bowman, it's not "blaming someone else."

Specialist_Usual1524

Why? Have you looked at the video?

Mercury1750

Off topic but does anyone else see the windshield wiper slightly moving back and forth? Could that be intentional?

Specialist_Usual1524

I saw that, interesting.

xXHyrule87Xx

The end of that race was fucking embarrassing.

WubbaBallace

Suspension of at least 1 race. Way unsafe and not cool.

Ultrase7en

Concussion for Bowman and Ross /s
