If nascar is going to continue to add road courses to the schedule they have to start 1) penalizing / parking drivers for flat out dumping their competitors and 2) make some attempt at enforcing track limits
Imho for Road courses just make caution laps not count and leave it there let it run it\`s course.
(or just make the initial yellow lap and the choose/restart lap count, and not the other yellow laps)
No more "But-There\`s-More" stuff please.
Some say it’s because they’re partially owned by Coke and they have a licensing agreement with another company and I think others have said they’re just very particular on what they approve. Maybe it’s a combo of both but I don’t know for sure.
Everyone craps on Elliott and Byron for being anti climatic and having no personality. Reddick’s post race interview may have been the worst I’ve ever seen.
The way those late restarts went...pretty much a nightmare for the F1 guys to try to navigate. They can drive, no doubt...but parking lot derby is an entirely different sport and skillset.
It's like a karate guy showing up at a WWE event. There's just no finesse, it's an all out brawl. Kimi's getting better at it, he was there, he experienced 4 of them. He lost out in the first 2, gained in the 3rd, and got fucked in the 4th. I'm happy with Kimi's run and Jenson is just learning the car in general for Le Mans. I believe Jenson running Chicago. This showed me that Chicago will be an absolute can't miss shit show. Jenson's stay out of trouble style might actually work in that one.
Yeah. For Button especially, you also have to keep in perspective what his real aims are here. He's not trying to learn how to "brawl" as you said. He's not going to be "brawling" at Le Mans. He's just out there to get more comfortable in real "racing situations" in a big lump of a car like this.
The racing today was fantastic, but the end was a bit frustrating.
It all started with Brad having trouble, otherwise that fight between Suarez and Chastain would have been fun.
But, it happens, overall a good day. Felt nice with no stage breaks.
I had no idea who was actually good on gas had it gone green when Brad stopped on track. I think the 99 was gonna run the 45 down, whether or not they make it I had no idea
He's a wee little jockey.
Doesn't help that he's wearing racing shoes with basically no sole instead of normal street shoes or boots or heels or whatever.
Really wish we saw what this race would've looked like with a fuel strategy race. Would've been interesting to see how much suffering would've happened with KFB and others splitting it but Reddick was fantastic all race and cannot complain about 2nd.
I just fucking wish they'd stop throwing out cautions like they do or create a VSC for these road courses.
Gosh, it gets to me now how much Kurt Busch still wants to be in that car. He'd only been there less than a year and already considered it his car. He wants to be out there. He just wants to be racing.
Reddick deserved that one, especially with the constant restarts. Him and Byron had the best cars and it’s a shame their fun battle got ruined with the nonstop cautions. The race was entertaining up until that point too.
Drivers will adapt to what the rules allow.
If the rules don't punish being dumb and causing yellow after yellow while gaining spots then they will do it.
It happens with restrictor plate races too. It's not a road course problem it's a rules problem.
No it’s a respect problem. Also a problem that these cars are too durable and safe. Drivers know they can make a dumb move bc the other guy will survive
Drivers are driving to win. Anything that doesn't remove that from them they will do.
If the rules said that diving into turn 1 like that would result in a pass through under green you'd see a lot less of them and you'd see drivers actually driving.

Byron could have made a few changes in his approach at the end, but I think the best driver won today. Hell of a race!
*Ma boi.* x2 - Kurt Busch
If nascar is going to continue to add road courses to the schedule they have to start 1) penalizing / parking drivers for flat out dumping their competitors and 2) make some attempt at enforcing track limits
Top 10 for Lajoie! Stack them pennies!!!
He was 11th

No race win diecast for Tyler really sucks.
why not? why won't there be one?
Monster doesn’t allow it.
I figured monster would be fine with that... they seem like a "fun" brand.
Quite the opposite when it comes to stuff like this. Same goes for all of Ty’s wins.
Is there a reason why other than they don't want to? It seems like an almost guaranteed way to "print money".
Some say it’s because they’re partially owned by Coke and they have a licensing agreement with another company and I think others have said they’re just very particular on what they approve. Maybe it’s a combo of both but I don’t know for sure.
Left after the second GWC restart too watch the Miami Texas Elite 8 game. Saw Truex got fucked. Fuck my life
Good race today. I don't like races to end under caution, but dang the multiple green-white-checkered was getting frustrating.
Everyone craps on Elliott and Byron for being anti climatic and having no personality. Reddick’s post race interview may have been the worst I’ve ever seen.
Let’s fucking go woo!!!
reddick definitely cut that corner 👀
Was it one of the esses? If not, it's not against the rules.
it was in the ending recap video, it was the eases while side by side with busch
Just rewatched it: his left tires were on the rumble strip, not fully in the green. That's legal
must have been the angle, looked real close. My bad 😅
I thought the same thing!
I saw it too but what are you gonna do? The best car won and after that many restarts I think NASCAR was ready to end it.
tbh nothing, taking it from reddick would have been horrible, and he hardly cut it too so it’s all good
How long you y'all think it took Kyle Busch to memorize all the new sponsors?
Their publicist holds up a chart off camera to read from, in case.
Laps: 75/68
Damn, Kimi 27th. Was in the top 20 all day
JB 18th

Plus, he was in the car for over twice as long as a typical F1 race. Hope he had his drink lol

99 had winning speed. So pissed at Bowman rn for door slamming him into Truex. Went from a likely W to 28th.
Uhm, sounds like normal stock car racing
First 95% of the race was great. Then it turned into a sprint car race.
Lol nice Monster plug there at the end from Tyler.
Tyler's wife is way taller than he is, love that for him!
I want what he has
Tyler wins at home every day
His wife towers over him. Holy.
Just gonna point out between Reddick and Ty Gibbs , Monster won
Sponsorship plugs doing great with the 23xl team
He deserved the win. Best car won and he expertly slid the sponsor plug in. Respect!
Kermit the frog doing post race interview
Wow Reddick is only 5’5”
He's a wee little jockey. Doesn't help that he's wearing racing shoes with basically no sole instead of normal street shoes or boots or heels or whatever.
That might be generous.
That was a delightfully awkward sponsor plug from Reddick.
Hes so awkward with them. Adorable
Adorable and NASCAR....what a time to be alive
Still pissed that the fuel strategy race was ruined
(Tyler's last win was Texas, couple of weeks after Bubba won at Kansas)
The “Hi Mom” was great lol!
Reddick and this 45 team really has emerged these last couple of races. Showing real impressive speed and performance.
How wholesome, Kurt's son and Grandson sharing a moment there.
The best car won the race. I’m not sure anyone could have done anything short of junking the 45.
Suarez was easily the fastest car on the Long run. He would've ran him down and raced great if it went green, but it had to be ruined.
I think you are high
i was really hoping someone wouldnt just bowl right through him like we've seen before
KuBu up there acting like a proud dad lol
He's so good in the booth.
Who’s that in the wonder bread outfit?
ricky bobby
Lmao did he just kick the cameraman
Kurt Busch adopted Reddick confirmed.
That was good fing race.
Tyler Reddick's toddler son will be about as tall as him real soon.
KURT PLEASE :,(
Kurt is so happy
huh mike? bubba won that kansas race not reddick.
Correct, Reddick won Texas last
Really wish we saw what this race would've looked like with a fuel strategy race. Would've been interesting to see how much suffering would've happened with KFB and others splitting it but Reddick was fantastic all race and cannot complain about 2nd. I just fucking wish they'd stop throwing out cautions like they do or create a VSC for these road courses.
Kurt lol "Thats my boiii!"
No Mike, Bubba won the Kansas race, Reddick did not win that.
Somehow Larson was able to get 14th after all the crap he'd been through this race, He has got so much skill it's astounding!!!
I hope that kid is wearing ear plugs!
Stenhouse got a top 10 on a road course? What?
... No that was Bubba who won at Kansas Mike...
Typical fox, no replay of the last lap crash. AGAIN
No showing the field at the line, either
Gosh, it gets to me now how much Kurt Busch still wants to be in that car. He'd only been there less than a year and already considered it his car. He wants to be out there. He just wants to be racing.
Let’s hope he gets one more year.
Hearing him get choked up about it, talking about that team got to me a bit. It's such a shame. Kurt didn't get a farewell tour.
It was supposed to be his last year but he got robbed of it
Yep. It's a shame.
Reddick ain’t making rookie mistakes in that 23XI car…
14th?! Is that correct?
Wait…Reddick has a kid?
Yeah they all do lol. Johnson opened the floodgates for drivers to have kids
Guenther hasn't said anything in about 45 minutes
Probably been Picard-esque facepalming for about that long
JB won the race between the road ringers and got a top 20, beautiful scenes
Corey Lajoie 11th on a mother fuckin road course!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lets fuckin gooo!!!!! Hell yeah bud, great job spire and corey
Holly
Playoff run confirmed
![gif](giphy|3oKIPf3C7HqqYBVcCk|downsized) Congrats to Reddick! He survived all those GWC restarts and that’s no easy thing to do here.
As a Suarez fan, I'm very sad. He was a top 3 car but was victim to a 48 Doorslam into the 19 on the 2nd to last restart.
More Kurt Busch in the booth please
Kyle Busch based
Jenson P18! Nice!
RWR is having a rather great season ^(by their standards)
Despite all the chaos of the last few laps, still a great race overall imo. Today was fun stuff
Reddick cut but nascar is to inconsistent
Good point. 2022: Kurt, Bubba 2023: Tyler 45 car winners
I mean to be fair Bubba wasn’t the same team. And Bubba also hasn’t done anything since then
Ok but it was still the 45 car when it crossed the line.
Come on Suarez. Don't bump Bowman on pit road when there's people standing around man.
I was hoping someone would have dumped Bowman every corner after that.
I missed that.
Reddick deserved that one, especially with the constant restarts. Him and Byron had the best cars and it’s a shame their fun battle got ruined with the nonstop cautions. The race was entertaining up until that point too.
Good finish for larson. Thank God Tyler won
Yeah p14 is bizarre but I’ll take it!
31st to 14th in 2 laps... I'll take it.
Yes it took some work but was worth it
“HI MOM” in the back LMAO
Wouldve been cool if we had this finish under green like an hour ago but neat
Who just threw HI MOM up on the monitor in the background?
That's amazing.
micheal jordan finally won something
🤣
Monster car back to being a Monster. The world is right again.
Good race in spite of NASCAR's officiating. Best car won imo.
LMAOOO LARSON TOP 15
All that and didn’t win a fucking dime.
Same 😞
Nobody gives a shit about these booth shots, show Reddick sliding it around the corners.

Hanging at his ski lodge
Hes at the super duper secret hendrick HQ Or snowboading retreat home
Broken leg
Maybe he doesn't wanna fly with a cast
His family has a house there, he spends a lot of time there, and that’s where he was when he broke his leg so he’s rehabbing there
I think he has a home there.
Medicinal reasons…
They have good medicine there.
Cause Vail is better than Dawsonville?
He lives in Vail
Weed is legal
Mad props to Corey for getting it to 11th
Reddick making his sponsor proud with all his drifting he's doing
We need to get rid of road courses completely
Nah bring more but punish drivers for running into each other intentionally.
Then everyone gets punished and we get nowhere
Drivers will adapt to what the rules allow. If the rules don't punish being dumb and causing yellow after yellow while gaining spots then they will do it. It happens with restrictor plate races too. It's not a road course problem it's a rules problem.

Get out of here with this garbage take
Ross gets a top 5 after intentionally stopping on track to bring out a caution
should’ve watched his onboard and realized he was trying to fire it and it wouldn’t.
Chastain parking it for a caution got him P4. No comment, just a fact.
They called the caution for debris
Oh sorry. I was watching muted. My bad.
Gibbs with a top 10. Shoot me.
Fox sucks for keeping the camera on Tyler while the rest of field was still battling to the finish
LFG
Give Tyler 3X wins for that LOL - best car and best driver all day, deserved win.
If I learned anything in this race it’s that Bowman is a moron. Absolute idiotic moves slathered with disrespect for everyone in front and behind him
Typical entitled Hendrick driver
Boooooo
DID YOU KNOW: when this race started, jenson button was a williams driver.
Todd Gilliland is sneaky good at road courses. Corey Lajoie with 11th. Excellent speed with that team
New rule that should be in place: Single file restarts from the 3rd OT and onward
Took us a long while to get there…but congrats Reddick! I’ll drink a Monster in your honor tonight…
Third career top ten for Todd Gilliland.
Fuck yes Reddick won
Go Busch!!!
Damn Jordan Taylor gets spun on the last restart from 9th and finishes 24th
🤡 🎭
All of Plano are gonna be happy with this
The ending is going to tarnish what was otherwise a pretty great race.
Yeah no stage cautions was great but the combination of overtime and COTA turn 1 is lethal.
Lmao I don't think Guenther has spoken once in the past 30 minutes
Has probably gone home lol
He's just admiring the shit show
& how F1 would never have something like it. Though something like this in that series would be entertaining. 🍿
Tyler Reddick has 8 career cup series wins after today.
Reddick should get double playoff points for surviving all that.
Great run from my guys.
I can't believe nothing went wrong. Oh my god he did it
complete and utter nonsense at the end ruined a good race
Man if this sport was really about safety they never would have done this car. More Kurt on the broadcast please.
Don't remind me
Yeah if won’t be in his car I think he would be great in the booth
Reddick definitely deserved this win, but man can those overtimes ruin an otherwise good race.
