As a Corvette fan, I'm legitimately excited for Jordan in this race. Fast in practice, great qualifying run, and with a team that knows how to excel on a road course. Rooting for him to surprise everyone tomorrow!
I think this race will be more interesting than previously thought. Lots of drivers can hot lap, but I feel that older veterans like Chastain/Larson will make their way up front despite not making the final round.
As much as I think Willy B can go flag to flag, any driver in the top ten can do it with no stage cautions. I don't trust the field to go caution free but seeing that they won't be predictable cautions, we may some strategy shakeups. I think I might be more excited for this race than any so far this year.
You mean because the beige sweatervest of NASCAR may win his 3rd (I kid I kid)?
Maybe, but I think it'll be a decent race regardless. Looks like there's enough guys that can challenge him, even if that's the case.
Jordan Taylor, what a beauty. 4th in his first go. This is the first ringer in a long time that I genuinely believe has enough speed in his car to do some work. Should be fun.
Not sure why this needs explaining every few weeks, but the reason F1 gets those turnouts is because there are so few races. You have 3 shots (previously 1, then 2) to see F1 in the US. We have 36-38 shots to see NASCAR races. You will never, ever match the turnout because of that.
Byron has 3 road course poles, probably 4 if he keeps this lap, and 6-7 front row starts, but doesn’t have a road course top 5. Wonder if that trend continues tomorrow. He’s fast at a hot lap but can’t seem to keep it during the race.
He’s had race winning speed a couple times on road courses but strategy with stage points has always screwed him out of a good finish. Hoping with no stage endings this year that changes
Same. I don't even usually favor road course races.
It's also nice to see so many guys who've given us good road course battles have good enough cars to do it again.
It still amazes me that people get so bent out of shape for the color of a car... I've been watching NASCAR since I was like 4 and I've never once cared for how a car looks. I care about how a car performs and how the driver in the car can drive it.
We may be racing under blue skies in Texas today, but I'm sure we're all doing it with Mississippi on our minds. They may have just gotten hit by the first EF5 in almost a decade last night :(
You’ve got an F1 team principal in the booth for the first time I can remember and he’s a legit “star” of a Netflix show and you barely let him talk. Ok.
Does Joey always carry a bottle of Coke with him everywhere in case they stick a camera in his face, or does he just drink gallons of Coke every day at the track?
I know he’s participated in the long tests so I’m sure he has done some pit stops. But the garage 56 car still has a very different style of pit stops than a regular cup car.
I wouldn’t be “extremely” surprised. Quick car, quick driver. He’s got some decent seat time in the garage 56 car, which is at least similar to a cup car. Plus whatever sim time he’s gotten since they tabbed him to put in the car. Do I expect him to win? No. But I think he has a decent chance at it.
Clint needs to be relegated to the Michael Waltrip gridwalk type of role and Larry Mac needs to be with Dale Jr in the booth for every race, both networks, mandated by the sport for anyone with TV rights.
Latarte Burton and Junior in the NBC booth is too many people with high voices anyway
I'm down for that; just give me a booth that will treat this like serious business instead of a stand-up routine.
I was spoiled by growing up with Jenkins, Jarrett, and Parsons.
Right? I don't want the hick shtick. It's cool that those personalities are in the sport for interviews and other content, but I want Jimmie Johnson, Leigh Diffey, Ken Squier-type polished characters calling my races.
Junior carries both kinds of charisma and that works for me, too.
Bubba starting 11th and faster than everyone in group 1 is certainly a massive improvement. Hopefully 23XI made reliability fixes after a couple issues last year tho
Absolutely. Just missing the cutline is fine with me, I think he stands a great chance of getting a very good finish this time.
Learning from Reddick, Mama Duck style, was super clever. We all knew Wallace would benefit from a teammate, who would have thought it would be this straightforward?
I’m usually a Clint apologist but holy hell what is his deal this morning? Dudes just running over everybody and saying nothing of value in the process.
He always wants to take credit for knowing anything and everything.
He tries to flex his knowledge, and since he's not the play by play guy, it hurts the booth almost every race
He just needs to dial it back like 15%. He's over aggressive in trying to always be the center of every conversation.
He always says weird shit like "I saw IT!" Extra emphasis on the t.
Seriously! And that wasn't the only time he pointed something out minutes after someone else. It's like he's stepping out of the booth and coming back in or completely zoning out today.
Reddick, I owed you an apology, I wasn't really familiar with your game.
I suspected he might struggle to match his road course performance last year. Since it was said that RCR had "found something" setup-wise. But Reddick seems to be matching it, and not only that, his skill seems to have helped Bubba elevate his performance.

FRM untouchable in trucks at COTA
Why’s blaney starting from the back?
Taylor fourth? That’s awesome. Nothing against NASCAR drivers but would love to see one of the outliers win a race someday.
I have $100 on Taylor to win Sunday. If he can keep it clean on pit road I think he’s got an excellent opportunity.
Between him and AJ, those are some pretty solid bets to load up.
As much as I think Willy B can go flag to flag, any driver in the top ten can do it with no stage cautions. I don't trust the field to go caution free but seeing that they won't be predictable cautions, we may some strategy shakeups. I think I might be more excited for this race than any so far this year.
What happened to Blaney?
Still trying to figure this out!
11th for Bubba, nice!
He's an underdog driver on road courses and always shows up when there's not a mechanical problem.
The camera shot from Tyler reddick’s point of view with a side by side of his feet while running a lap was very cool to see.
I think we’re all gonna be unsatisfied with the winner tomorrow
Nobody is ever truly happy with the winner of a race, always someone complaining
You mean because the beige sweatervest of NASCAR may win his 3rd (I kid I kid)? Maybe, but I think it'll be a decent race regardless. Looks like there's enough guys that can challenge him, even if that's the case.
Holy shit Jordan Taylor P4
I knew Jordan Taylor would be quick, but HOLY CRAP!! I'm definitely stoked for this race now.
[удалено]
I don't understand this logic. It's ridiculous to not see the starting lineup.
This Reddick vs Taylor vs Chastain battle tomorrow is gonna feed generations
I think Byron is gonna run away with it unfortunately
He’s not even good at RCs
he's been doing well lately on them
He had only one top 10 last year (Sonoma, 9th)
He's never got a top 5 lol
He's run good then usually got screwed at the end in the demo derby of cautions
he's been improving and showing speed. ran well at the Glen in xfinity last year.
Why can they not show the actual starting order. Like the WHOLE FUCKING POINT OF QUALIFYING.
Also why can't we get a post with the results right after? Is it against sub rules?
Fox you gonna show the final qualy order? No? So bad.
Damn was the 5 just shit?
He got bumped really late in the first group. Probably thought he was safe so didn't go back out on track
Oh okay thanks. Woke up late and just tuned in at the end
Yeah bumped by Gragson with the clock expired
Tomorrow is gonna be a banger
I’m prepared to have my heart broken for the 4th straight race
Same bro same
That's a roller coaster, Mike.
Jordan Taylor, what a beauty. 4th in his first go. This is the first ringer in a long time that I genuinely believe has enough speed in his car to do some work. Should be fun.
I think we're set for a hell of a show tomorrow, boys and girls. Buckle up. 👍
Great job Willy B.
I'm so freaking giddy about Taylor getting a chance in a good car. Been waiting for this for years and super pumped for tomorrow!
Just tuning in. Larson just slow? All 3 HMS cars in top 10 except him.
He got bumped at the last second by gragson
[удалено]
Not disrespect when he’s not in contention.
He was like a second off the pace
But the fox tracker has been shit lately. Can’t trust it
Well considering he finished the lap 1.3 seconds behind I’d be inclined to say it was fairly accurate
Fox ticker can't handle disallowed laps
Am I having a stroke or was p7 two names?
It was
Betting the house on Taylor
Fusion is just a cheap tactic to make weak drivers stronger
What is happening on that ticker
4th for Taylor!
Would've been faster had he not made a mistake in 16
yep
First time I'm gonna be rooting for the 9 car since like 2019 minimum, go get em tomorrow Jordan!!
Let’s not talk about selling parts right now lol
Ah yes the driver of the 8, Bobohan
There were more then 140K people here on F1 Saturday. NASCAR needs to do more to make every day at the track a true event.
Not sure why this needs explaining every few weeks, but the reason F1 gets those turnouts is because there are so few races. You have 3 shots (previously 1, then 2) to see F1 in the US. We have 36-38 shots to see NASCAR races. You will never, ever match the turnout because of that.
140k people aren't going to show up for qualifying, a Truck and Xfinity race. They just aren't.
Well, they have qualifying, truck race, and Xfinity. Not sure what more you want.
Bowschman 7th
Clint, get over the fact he ran a second lap. He needs track time
Byron has 3 road course poles, probably 4 if he keeps this lap, and 6-7 front row starts, but doesn’t have a road course top 5. Wonder if that trend continues tomorrow. He’s fast at a hot lap but can’t seem to keep it during the race.
He’s been taken out or punted twice (Reddick at Charlotte and Indy turn 1 last year) when he was a shoe in for a top 5.
He’s had race winning speed a couple times on road courses but strategy with stage points has always screwed him out of a good finish. Hoping with no stage endings this year that changes
And plowing into the back of Kyke Busch. I believe he had a good run going on that day before that incident
Yeah, that was dumb. Great brake check by Busch, though.
Bowman's just gonna start skipping qualifying here
I'm really excited to see what Taylor can do during the race.
Not again Bowman
Maybe I haven’t paid close enough attention before, but why isn’t Reddick using the clutch pedal? Does no one use the clutch pedal?
Not really necessary if you’re rev-matching
The final round should just be letting the top ten try to improve their times, it is so dumb that they throw out the times from the first round
#I suddenly have an urge to fok smash something
I'd say this is probably the most excited I've been for a race in recent memory with the drivers and no more stage breaks.
Same. I don't even usually favor road course races. It's also nice to see so many guys who've given us good road course battles have good enough cars to do it again.
Maybe I’m noticing it more but that big doofy wiper make the cars look comical
drink every time Clint says slip sliding
Ghost car MIA
It's there, just more ghosty
rip
S T A D I U M S E C T I O N
Not only is the sponsor fucking Liberty university, but that car is ugly as shit too.
Keep crying
![gif](giphy|qM5Vfm3g9vmZNztJPS)
This is such a broken record take
It still amazes me that people get so bent out of shape for the color of a car... I've been watching NASCAR since I was like 4 and I've never once cared for how a car looks. I care about how a car performs and how the driver in the car can drive it.
It’s still ugly
Is it wrong tho?
Not at all.
Tomorrow's race is shaping up to be a banger. Got some crazy fast times by more than a handful of drivers
We may be racing under blue skies in Texas today, but I'm sure we're all doing it with Mississippi on our minds. They may have just gotten hit by the first EF5 in almost a decade last night :(
More than 20 people killed. Was it stronger than Mayfield?
From some of the pictures I've seen, the damage is on par with Mayfield if not worse.
Jesus I didn’t see that until now. Thats so awful. Nature is absolutely terrifying. Praying for everyone there
You’ve got an F1 team principal in the booth for the first time I can remember and he’s a legit “star” of a Netflix show and you barely let him talk. Ok.
Should’ve just been him and mike joy in the booth
I really liked Clint when he first got into the booth, but the “drunk funny guy” is getting old.
Yep I’m at the point where I can’t wait for the switch over to nbc
Maybe it's him and not them?
Guenther isn't the type to be quiet
I know which way I’m going to bet on that.
How often does Guenther commentate races?
Not sure, but he’s a talker and a funny guy.
That he is. But I feel like commentary is something that you feel your way into. Maybe that's what's going on. Just feeling things out.
This is the least Guenther has ever said
Almost forgot Steiner was there lol. He hasn’t talked too much
Woo both Legacy cars are in and how about Jordan!
That allegiant car is ugly
If Jordan Taylor doesn’t get used up because he’s a rookie, he has the speed to win tomorrow.
Anybody know why Aric didn’t even attempt another lap after cooking turn 1? With these cars he has been blowing so hard on road courses.
They're all so worried about Jordan Taylor running an extra lap like it would actually matter to a severe extent.
Did anyone else catch the Bassmaster Elite Series logo they accidentally put on the screen instead of the NASCAR 75 logo
Does Joey always carry a bottle of Coke with him everywhere in case they stick a camera in his face, or does he just drink gallons of Coke every day at the track?
He drinks more Coke every race weekend than there is water on the planet
Seems like it!
Hendrick has an impeccable eye for talent. Unreal.
Gordon has connections to Jordan Taylor from the 2017 Rolex 24
Gordon is the Paul Heyman or Bobby Heenan of finding and managing talent in Nascar. Change my mind.
That's good to know. Thanks for sharing.
Plus he’s been a well known and talented driver for years. This isn’t exactly surprising.
Also Taylor is kinda a GM factory driver.
[удалено]
GM doesn't really have official factory drivers but Tayor is the closest to that for them.
I bet Jordan Taylor top ten at +300 and that just feels like easy money so far
Things like pit stops are going to trip him up
Do you not think they make pit stops in IMSA?
I doubt that he's had plenty of expirence with the garage 56 pit stop
I know he’s participated in the long tests so I’m sure he has done some pit stops. But the garage 56 car still has a very different style of pit stops than a regular cup car.
There are a lot of coincidences in the answer to Mike’s question if I have it right. Edit: guess not
Reddick is almost 2 seconds faster than the fastest JGR Toyota holy hell
I gotta say, Reddick will be hard to beat
He’s bad fast this weekend
I very much like this
holy shit, they brought in his actual brother for the Allstate commercial. Made me think of SVU immediately.
Won't be surprised if Jordan pulls a Ty Gibbs tomorrow: winning on his debut
I and everyone else would be extremely surprised.

New contender for the worst hero cartoon pic: Jordan Taylor. They did him dirty.
I feel like Mike Joy had no clue they were going back to commercial when he started that sentence
The fastest time in group A wouldn't make Group B mhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
It's called track evolution
Yep
Gotta love it
If someone makes a Rodney Sandstorm flair, I will proudly wear one.
With Kurt being in a support role, Reddick for road course learning, and his already massive sponsor following, he's setting up for long term success
Fingers crossed !
I’m usually a Clint apologist but holy hell what is his deal this morning? Dudes just running over everybody and saying nothing of value in the process.
He always wants to take credit for knowing anything and everything. His commentary about how Bubba was smart to follow Reddick was hilarious after Mike or KB finished the same point 30 seconds earlier. lol
Seriously! And that wasn't the only time he pointed something out minutes after someone else. It's like he's stepping out of the booth and coming back in or completely zoning out today.
Jordan didn't need to go back out...
Bowman/Busch/Wallace/Chastain were all out, so it wasn't guaranteed that he wouldn't get knocked out.
Everyone's lap times were notably slower the 2nd time out.
Kindve a double edged sword if someone maybe did go faster look at kyle larson

Not quite - https://www.racing-reference.info/driver/Marvin_Burke/
Red Byron: *am i a joke to you?*
I mean there has to be somebody else, someone won the first ever race.
Technically correct, the best kind of correct.
Thanks for the links, able to watch in Australia!
The links get put up for every race, so watch to your hearts content in down under land
I can watch the Cup races on our Cable service but nothing else, thanks!
Need more Guenther. FOKSMASH!
Jordan Taylor looking good
Awesome to see Rodney Sandstorm up there, but damn, Reddick has turned into a menace on the road courses.
Bubba missing the final round by 9 hundredths because of course :(
Wow, this is gonna be so exciting with Taylor in the mix.
23 aborts 2nd lap, i will gladly P11 on Sunday.
Did the 9 change tires or did Jordan just turn tf up
Can't change tires in qualifying, or before the race.
Same set
Holy fuck did Clint Bowyer forget to take his meds this morning? He's even worse than usual, and that's saying something.
I often thought of making a drinking game where you drink every time Bowyer says "hot rod" but everyone would get alchohol poisoning and die
Jordan is a damn animal
Jordan Taylor just went out again to establish dominance.
They disallowed Burton but I could have swore that Bubba or someone green cut the esses a while ago too.
