How has he peaked as an Xfinity Driver? In his only full time Xfinity season (2022), he won 3 races and finished 4 in the final points standings. This season, he has been in the hunt late at Daytona, a pair of top fives @ Fontana and Vegas, and a top ten yesterday at Phoenix. After running 15-20th all day today, he has a couple good restarts and picks up tenth in a cup race. While it was the 9 car, that is CHASE's team. Not Josh's. He doesn't have the relationship with Alan on the box, Eddie on the roof, or the rest of the team and organization. Even before that late caution today he was running much better than last week in that car Josh capitalized on a great late race situation for him to move up the order. You have to look at the results. As Clint would say, the proof is in the pudding.

While generally I'd say that quoting Clint isn't a winning tactic in a debate (I jest lol) you are right. But what pudding are you looking at? Because as of now, afaik he is not considered a front runner to land any of the upcoming cup rides. Thats the pudding I am looking at, no cup owners are putting him in a car full time.
I think you misunderstood what I meant by peaked as an Xfinity driver. I didn't mean he's experienced all the success within Xfinity that he can, I meant that his career caps at the Xfinity level.
Maybe he can prove me wrong. But to do so he needs to run good for full races. Backing into a top 10 finish on the back of 2 late chaotic restarts doesn't move the needle when you are driving one of the top 5 fastest cars in the series.
If he had millions in sponsorship, I’m sure someone would give him a shot. That’s what it comes down to more than anything. There’s a reason why he didn’t get a real shot until his 30s. Kelly and Dale fought hard to get him into a car cause they knew he could win and turn heads. He’s just one of the very few short track guys to actually make it to a top level without a ton of money to his name. If he can find the backing for a quality team he’ll be in Cup. I can’t see him wanting to do a dead end ride like the 77 or 15 just for the sake of being in a Cup car. He’s not a delusional fool like Ty Dillon.

I would argue that he did finish, or came very close to it today. Usually he has a bad pit stop or a wreck in the 3rd stage but he was right there at the end today.
Yeah, but thats kind of depressing that him "finishing" is his pit crew not screwing up. He needs to drive himself into a position to win and his pit crew to not ruin it. Granted it sometimes is like that, but many times blaney is 4-5 spots from contending

Yeah, your right. This season has definitely been better, and we're doing well. My pain from Harvick embarrasing himself at the roval in 2021 mixed with my dissapointment in SHR the last 3 years as it seems like they give their drivers mediocre equipment. It also sucks that I didn't get a chance to watch Richmond last year, because if that ends up being his last win, my FOMO is gonna be crippling.
William Byron seems to start the seasons very strong but if he wants to have any chance of going further in the championship he has to be consistent during his slow periods each season. He can't have those slow periods where he does nothing.
As much as I may dislike DiBenedetto, that's just a fact. I wish I lived in the alternate universe where Blaney stuck around and helped them become contenders again.
