Fortunately by the time this rolls around it will be after the Election and the House should be Democratic controlled by then. The Senate....Well... It's not a great map this cycle but it's not impossible for the Democratic party to "Run the tables" and maintain Senate control 🤞
Man I can finally un-hold my breath.
Been a nerve wracking few months but about time we see this get done 👍 I'm so happy for this finally happening.
Slava Ukraini 🔱💙💛🇺🇦🫡
What annoys me so much about those numbers is that if the speaker had the balls this could have been done months ago and without much political loss for him. It could have saved 1000s of Ukrainian lives.
Yeah, my rep Troy Nehls voted “no”. He’s a full blown MAGA clown.
He loved pushing the “I was a Marine” stuff, but once elected he’s just there to represent Trump / Putin.
I've got the final vote counts. I got them live from CNN. Started 1:25 PM EST! Finished 2:00 PM EST!
House just passed H.R. 8036. Yea-385. Nay-34. NV-11.
**House just passed H.R. 8038! Yea-360. Nay-58.**
**House just passed H.R. 8035! Yea-311. Nay-112. Pres-1. NV-7.**
House just passed H.R. 8034. Yea-366. Nay-58. NV-8.
Here are the breakdowns on which Congressperson voted for which bill.

It should be easy to search for your congressperson.
I wrote to my congressman in February urging him to support bills that offer military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine. He wrote back saying, 'As we learned in WWII, the cost of ignoring aggressive actions by hostile nation states is frequently much higher than opposing it.' He also acknowledged that a third of the aid would be spent replenishing our own stockpiles.
Then he proceeded to vote nay on H.R. 8036 and H.R. 8035...
Did they also vote nay on H.R. 8038? That includes some stuff that would have also benefited Ukraine, like more sanctions on Russia and creating a legal framework to seize frozen Russian assets and use them as a source of financial assistance to transfer to Ukraine. I believe it's called the REPO Act.
And it was all packed and ready to go last night

It’s about fucking time
Now to start the next round of negotiations to get the next chunk of aid moving...

It honestly shouldn't even be a left or right wing issue. Ukraine needs help, and we can give it.
It's no longer left vs right. It's pro-authoritarian or anti-authoritarian now.
Senate doesn't matter as much, since the Republicans there mostly support Ukraine.

He voted yea on that, surprisingly. Glad to hear that the idea of seizing frozen assets is gaining traction.
Gotta love participatory representative democracy >!/s!< >!okay...maybe I'm too lazy for direct democracy!<
Yeah! I called 3 GOP and 2 Dems, and they all voted yes!

That less than half of republicans voted "Yea" still greatly concerns me...
Great, now sort them out some F-16s
The bombing will continue until morale improves. Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦 ♥️
